Answer This Question
A: Door jambs I'd go with decking screws, so much easier to take a screw out then a nail if adjustments are needed and with doors they usually are. Trim and baseboard depending on the thickness i'd go with 2 inch. you want to make it threw the trim sheetrock and into the stud while being mindful of pipes and wires in the wall.

A: for doors, I use 2.5 inch. For trim, it depends on drywall thickness, but 2 inch is usually right. If you are nailing trim directly to a door jamb, use 1.5 inch.

A: Why do you think it is called a 16 ga. nailer? Because it uses 18 ga. nails??? Why don't you read the instructions? Idiot.

Q:in one picture i see it being used to install a hard wood floor, can i use it right out of box to do this and wat size brad

Answer This Question
A: The brad size depends on the flooring.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Not really - flooring nailers typically have a sloped guide to ensure you staple/nail in at a 45 degree angle, putting that nail exactly where the tongue meets the bulk of the piece of wood. Without that angle, your next piece of wood would hit the nail and the groove wouldn't seat on the tongue. That said, this nailer WILL work for your final piece when the tongue/groove is no longer needed.

A: I have to admit that I could not find a repair kit (specifically a white plastic piston ring) for my 250B (scoured the web) so I broke down and bought a new unit (bummer).

A: As long ad it will get above 100 lbs. Pressure

A: Hi Felixmarquez.
Thank you for your question.
The Porter-Cable 16-Gauge Pneumatic Nailer needs a minimum of 70 psi to operate. Porter-Cable recommends 90psi for proper operation.
If you set your compressor at a higher level, the recovery time for your nailer will be quicker. Your 3-gallon compressor should work fine as long as you have the minimum psi for proper operation.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
