                Q:Is this a straight 10w hydraulic oil - I need a hydraulic oil that meets Non-Detergent / Non-Foaming Hydraulic Oil - SAE-10, AW 32

                Answer This Question

A:  This hydraulic fluid does not foam as long as nothing get mixed into it. This is also Non-detergent. Usually a bottle will call out if it has detergent or the letters HD for high detergent. I have used it for a long time and never had an issue with in any hydraulic machine I use it in.

A:  Hi Mike, You will want to check with the manufacturer for your boat lift to see if it will take this type and spec of oil. Thanks for asking. Greg

A:  The best advise is to check the boat lift instruction manual and only use the hydraulic fluid they specify. If you don’t have the manual you can check online and find one. Without know which model lift you have the best I can tell you is there is a only a 50/50 chance this will work. I do believe this is an SAE 10 oil. I do use this oil in my hydraulic log splitter, in the winter, without any issues. Good luck.

Q:Lift manual says to use NO.46 hydraulic oil when temp is above 64.4F or NO.32 if below. Is this the same as NO.32?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Here is the information on the oils. Lighter oils in cold weather, heavier oil in hot weather. SAE 10W is equivalent to ISO 32, SAE 20 is equivalent to ISO 46 and 68, and SAE 30 is equivalent to ISO 100. As you can see, there is a bit of a difference between ISO 68 and SAE 30. The viscosity of the fluid largely determines the oil temperatures within which the hydraulic system can safely operate. AW32 is approximately a 10 weight oil with the anti foam additives. AW46 is approximately a 15 weight oil with the anti foam additives. AW68 is approximately a 20 weight oil with the anti foam additives AW –provides many of the advantages of premium hydraulic oil at a moderate price.
