Answer This Question
A: Each 40 lb (18.1 kg) bag will cover multiple applications for a total of 34 ft2 (3.1 m2) at 1/8 inch thickness. QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patch is not intended for use as a coating or over large areas (must be less than 2 ft2 (0.19 m2). For resurfacing large areas of worn or scaling concrete surfaces use QUIKRETE® Re-Cap Concrete Resurfacer (No. 1131-47) or QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix (No. 1103) with QUIKRETE® Concrete Acrylic Fortifier (No. 8610) added.

Q:My basement had a water problem and over time the top of the concrete started to lift off. Some of the areas about a half inch is pealed off. Can I use this to fill in and make a smooth surface again. The water problem is fixed and the floor remains dry.

Answer This Question
A: If the repair is truly cosmetic as described, QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patch can be used to smooth the surface to make it look uniform. Delaminating concrete is usually more complicated – in this case, more drastic rehabilitation will be necessary. We recommend contacting a concrete finisher in your area for advice prior to tackling the repair.
