        Q:So these are basically just 36" long pieces of molded plastic for around $15/piece right? I think it's cool, but note that most of that most of the glowing reviews are from Seed Program who don't have to pay for it and never mention cost.

              Q:Can the rails be mounted to the studs only or do I need a backer board? My shed only has studs.

              A:  Yes you can connect to studs as long as the studs are structurally sound. The mounting points on the link rails are preset for studs on 16" centers. But, you can drill a pilot hole and screw through the installation channels as well.
