Q:Renovation took longer than planned, plastic protector was down 8 months. Took it up this morning & it left a sticky, tacky residue, even after vacuuming. What will neutralize the adhesive so it dries & flakes off for vacuuming?

A: Hi Bonn -
Thank you for contacting us. We are sorry to hear that! Our Carpet Shield has a Water-Based adhesive. We recommend using a citrus-based soap pretreatment with a HOT water extraction to remove any residue. Please make sure it is not STEAM, but a HOT water extraction.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Thank you again,
Jasmine Duncan

Q:Carpet protector (self adhesive) was placed on vinyl plank flooring to protect a 24" X 36" area for 5 days. It has been installed for 1 day, Should it be removed or will it be OK for a short time??

Answer This Question
A: Good afternoon, Lee-
Thank you for contacting us regarding your concern. Carpet shield is a temporary 30-day protection product only to be used on synthetic carpet. This could cause damage or adhesive being left behind when removing. If adhesive is left behind, we recommend using a citrus-based product, such as goof off or goo gone, to remove the water-based adhesive from flooring. We recommend testing in a small area with the citrus-based product and using a plastic scrapper to gently remove and adhesive that is still located on the marble. For future uses on marble surfaces, we recommend considering marble shield. Thank you again for contacting us regarding your concern.
Warm regards,

Answer This Question
A: it's about 3-4 mil, works great just don't put down on anything but carpet
by|Jun 10, 2023
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Unless otherwise stated, all of our Carpet Shield products are 2.8 mil's (0.0028 inches) thick. This provides both protection of your carpet as well as the necessary flexibility to work on its surface. Please reach out to customerservice@iconprotection.com with any further questions.

A: Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to ask about our product. I do not believe that using a wheelchair on carpet shield would work, I believe it would tear and become tangled in the wheels.

A: Good afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to ask about our product. This may cause damage to the surface if used out of specifications. I could leave behind adhesion as well. This should only be used on synthetic carpet.
