Q:I have a sample of 4 AWG bare, solid copper wire in front of me. I need 50 feet. Is there a way to look at the sample and determine which of the above I need?

Answer This Question
A: Typically, the soft drawn copper works for every application. Therefore, it is the only type available for online purchases. If you would like to order the medium or hard-drawn copper, then it is available for special order at your local Home Depot store.

Q:I'm looking for solid copper 'straight' wire. In other words, it's not on a roll. And I would want it in 2 foot lengths. I'm assuming that medium-hard or hard drawn should satisfy my requirements, if it's straight.

A: This wire is sold only in coils.
by|Mar 16, 2023
A: It's impractical to store, display, or transport long sections of perfectly straight wire. It's normally handled as a loose coil, similar to the manner in which you'd handle a length of garden hose. It is NOT wound tightly on a spindle.

A: As far as I know you may buy up to 500 feet bare copper wire rolls for what ever use, if your need es less than that, my understanding is that you may purchase it by foot at .32 cents, just have your pliers ready, “I don’t belive they will cut the wire in 2 feet length pieces”, if they do is understandable you would be charge for that. Depending on what your are going to use the wire for it would be best to seek professional advise to make sure what you are “assuming” is correct.

Answer This Question
A: It is pure (99.999%) copper, not an alloy. It is softer due to the annealing process for the wire.

A: no - solid copper.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Yes they are made in the US. They are 99.999% Copper. There is no lead, arsenic, or any other compounds in this product. A Material Safety Data Sheet is not required for our products because they fall under the “article exemption” in OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200.

A: The wire came wound round in a circular coil about a foot wide in diameter. It was taped with electrical tape and then packaged in a padded envelope so you'd have to straighten it yourself after it arrived.
