Questions and Answers for Stanley 25 ft. PowerLock Tape Measure (4-Pack)

A:  I always believed they were made in the USA. It says it right on the front. No where on my tape does it say Thailand. I’m in Boston ma.

A:  Mine says that it is made in the USA and the blade is slightly brighter and easier to read than the one that finally broke after decades of use. I do not see Thailand referenced anywhere and the tool is great.

A:  I just came from my local HD. This tape for the special price of $7.97 is made in Thailand. The one picture on their site is misleading as it shows one made in the USA. Notice the other picts do not show USA.

A:  The 12ft is die cast metal. The 16ft and up are chrome plated ABS. Needing a short tape, went with the 12ft over the plastic 16ft. Still have some metal 25' working perfectly that just look like they were used building the Ark.

A:  As far as I recall, the case has only come in a plastic version, and I have had my first one for over 30 years. I have found this model to be extremely durable, dropping mine all the time and from a good distance while on a ladder higher than 16 feet. I believe Stanley must use a very high impact plastic, which is designed to provide years of service for the professional contractor.

A:  The 16 ft and shorter tape measures have die cast metal cases. The 25 ft and longer tape measures have ABS plastic cases.

A:  We apologize for any inconvenience. Yes, the individual 33-425 and the 4 pack 33-425CP are made in the USA.

A:  "Deficient products will be replaced if sent to: Stanley Black & Decker, 100 Passmore Lane, Jackson, TN 38305, Attn: Quality Assurance." It will cost $5.00 to mail it. They're betting you won't bother. Home Depot has a 90 day return policy...

A:  Better than a piece of crap too expensive for what it is

A:  Don't believe so. Why would it? One of the most abused tools in the tool box and Stanley knows that. They're only $7 on sale, just buy a couple.

A:  Really? Warranted against what? Kinking? Breaking? Not winding up properly? Good luck with that one!

A:  Made in U.S.A.

A:  Probably china.

A:  I have one I bought about 15 to 20 years ago that still works great. I bought a new one because I had misplaced it. These are steel and last forever. Do not buy the plastic ones.

A:  As the packaging states, "with global materials". So, extrapolated from that misleading statement, one is lead to believe that this 25ft. tape measure is simply assembled here in the states. Be it as it may, it's a lot of tape measure for the money.

A:  I could not tell

A:  For on the construction site, this tape is good and durable. This tape is narrower for my tool belt as compared to the Stanley FatMax. This tape is easier to store and pull out of my tool belt and dose not take time away from the job at hand. Bottom line - yes I will purchase this again when this tape wears out.

A:  Just buy a new one. Come winter I go through about one a week, I consider them a disposable tape when you compare them to other models/brands.

A:  Yes, buy a second measure and take the blade out and put it in the measure that needs the blade replaced. It's under $20.

A:  It's made of 24 carat unobtanium and orphan tears. I have no idea, actually, but it doesn't flake off after a year or two like cheap garbage you'll only regret having wasted money on. Buy this, and you won't need another tape for a LONG TIME. This Stanley tape measure (and many Lufkin products like their reel type tapes) are the De-Facto standards of QUALITY. Most all the others only WISH they could build rock solid dependable gear like this, especially at it's price-point, on sale or not!

A:  Dave, I was able to research this and find that the tape measure has the following: Mylar polyester film for added durability.

A:  Yes, I bought mine there 4months ago,. had a great experience! Abs plastic, I use this tape every day !. It is very durable...drop it alot !

A:  Un-Obtanium Nitrate and Orphan Tears. Hoestly, I don't think you'll get an answer to this, but it's CRAZY TOUGH. It's the same material they've used for at least 45 years that I'm aware of - probably longer. It's made in the USA, and trade secrets are usually kept, you know, secret.

A:  According to the manufacturer, it's high-impact ABS - which is chrome plated. The tape itself is coated in a Mylar polyester film.

A:  I had no trouble getting mine about a week ago

A:  Not sure. I was able to a long time ago but it just never worked the same. The cost of the replacement was almost as much as a new one. All in all it was not worth the effort.

A:  Save yourself the trouble and purchase a new tape measure.

A:  Just buy a new one.
