A:  It could work. Container is solid and holds a lot. You coud try and always usefor otheer storage if not quite big enough. Definitely would hold your ornaments.

A:  Hi Patti, the Sterilite 64 Qt Latching Box has inside dimensions of 19.375"L x 13.125"Wx 13"H, therefore a 4ft long Christmas tree will not fit. The Sterilite 50 G Stacker Box has inside dimensions of 34.25"L x18"W x17.375"H. Depending on if your 4 ft. Christmas tree has the ability to be taken apart, this may suit your needs better.

A:  Its a heavy type of plastic I use these to keep craft supplies in. They are also good for in the kitchen as well I keep packages of pasta in them

A:  If you are looking for airtight, this is not the product for you. Your initial reason for purchasing is what they are intended for. The area where the lid mates with the bottom is not airtight either, so I would suggest another storage item. I personally love these for storage.

A:  These aren't airtight sealing lids, these are more for general storage. You'll want to look for a different option and likely one with a rubber gasket seal that I'd expect to be much more expensive.

A:  If you want them airtight, I would think duct tape over the holes would accomplish that. I have never tried that. I use mine for seasonal decorations and store them on shelves in the garage. The items inside the containers are still clean and dry when I open the containers the next year, even though I live in a very hot and humid summer climate with rainy cold winters. The garage does get good air circulation which likely helps.

A:  Thank you for your question. The Sterilite 64 Qt Latching Storage Box is not air tight. The lid securely snaps to the base with the latching lid, keeping contents safely in place and concealed. The box was designed for general household use, it is not waterproof and does not contain UV protection.

A:  up to the level of the lid. where the clasps (blue) are, are small holes which would, i think, leak water into the container should water be allowed on the lid. i use them mainly for fabrics and sewing materials storage, to keep humidity and insects, etc., out, but if subject to real water, i think there would be considerable damage possible. i use the bottom portions of two of them as cat litter boxes, which work well... very little scattering. have steps up for the cats. oh, well... :)

A:  Against moisture in a basement? Yes flooding or a garden hose? No

A:  Yes. I use these for storage of my business inventory because they do prevent moisture and insects from entering. The containers are solid and can take rough handling without breaking/cracking.
