Q:I want to use this unit to "boost" and remote bathroom so we dont have to wait forever to get hot water. Can I install this unit inline with the hot water line from the house water heater and will it shut off when the hot water arrives?

A:  This is a tank water heater (6 gallons) You can plumb the hot line into the cold connection and use it as a booster. It will give you hot water and allow your main hot water system to flow through it. It will not turn off when the hot water arrives. Remember, this is not an on demand water heater.       A:  This is a storage tank. You have 6 Gallons to work with. Once that is gone, it will take about 20 - 30 minutes to regenerate.

        Q:The specs for the SHC 6 Gal states that it is 20.5 tall. Is that just how high the tank itself is, or is that as measured from the bottom of the tank to the end of the relief valve?
