A:  Probably. The mulcher is similar to what a weed eater does.

A:  I don't know about paper recycling bags. Their opening may not be large enough in diameter. We use one of those collapsible/pop-up cloth bags (spring loaded, search for "collapsible lawn bag" on Home Depot) and it works nicely. You could catch in the pop-up and transfer to the paper bag to store or dispose of. I'm with you - no to plastic whenever possible.

A:  Yes! If you are planning to use the shredded leaves immediately paper would be fine. If you are storing them for later use you need to be sure they don't get wet.

A:  IMO there is no straight answer for this question. If you are shredding only leaves (without small t wicks), then the lines would last for quite a while. Conversely, if there are twicks or there machine is frequently over stuffed, then you will need to change the line more often. If you have used a trimmer that uses lines, this statement would be more obvious. However, the machine does do what it is design to do. I just buy a long reel of the line and cut them to length when needed. Threading the line in is very easy. Using a long nose pair of pliers for this helps.

A:  It depends on if you have sticks in your leaves that your are mulching. I go thru about two sets everytime I use it because I have a 130 ft tall oak tree in the back yard. I really enjoy it. It takes about 4 to 5 big bags and shreads them into one bag. Well worth the money, although it gettes dusty.
