Q:Does his flashing work with standard galvanized corrugated roofing?

Answer This Question
A: You would need to compare the corrugations. We do not manufacture the metal roofing and this item is designed to fit our Suntuf polycarbonate roofing. Most basic galvanized corrugated metal is 2.67" corrugation and these have a 3" corrugation pattern.

A: You really need to look at the grove configuration. Not all plastic and metal roof panels have the same spread between the hills and valleys to keep it simple.

A: Without seeing your situation, I would give it a shot. At the bottom edge, you can use the PVC gutters to direct the water to the sides.

A: The most common use for this piece is to flash against a house or existing structure when installing a patio cover, car port, etc. You can try using it as you described, but we have no history of the item being used as such. You would also want to be sure it does not get in contact with any pool chemicals, as they could cause the product to deteriorate.

Answer This Question
A: If you go on-line to the Home Depot site, you can watch them build a Pergola.
You then can see the calculation for the roof slope.
We built ours and it has a 10 degree pitch and I used the wall connector without any issues.

A: This flashing piece is flexible so it can be formed to fit the pitch/angel required.

A: The angle is up to you. Since the roof is resting on “j” hooks, you can use whatever angle you feel comfortable with.

Q:How is the wall connector attached to the polycarbonate panels? Do you screw them down onto the panels? (My purlins aren't wide enough to accommodate a screw going thru the wall connector and panel without pushing the wall connector flat against the house wall.) Or do you just use sealant to bind them to the panels? What is the purpose of the 1/2 inch flange on top of the wall connector? Is it meant to be inserted into a groove cut into the house wall?

A: You can add additional screws but I have not had to use a sealant. The screws with the washers have a small rubber bushing. Don’t overtighten.

A: Yes. I used 1.5in self tapping with washers. The 1in can be used for attaching the roofing to the pvc but if you are going to overlap, the 1.5in are recommended.
The .5in flange is used as a guide.

A: Please review the installation instructions located at www.palramamericas.com/suntuf. Page 6, Figure A and B show different installations of the wall connector. The wall connectors should be attached to the panels using the same fasteners used to install the panels. The non-corrugated portion of the wall connector would attach to your existing structure by either figure A or B, depending upon the material of what you are attaching to.
