A:  I used that in my tub for a clog.  It unclogged it beautifully.  BUT it also burst my pipe.  THINK TWICE.  Don’t know about toilets. 

A:  Hi, ATBear - There are no guarantees that Kleer Drain will work to open all clogs. Much depends on the severity of the clog, its location in the drain lines, etc. We have an overwhelming number of reviews indicating how well it worked, and we have some indicating it didn't. Given the low price point relative to an expensive plumber call, it's a good option to try. But, to address your question, it does help on partial or fully clogged stoppages. Thanks.

A:  Hi, BrianPow - No, a 12gr cartridge is physically larger than an 8gr cartridge and will not fit in the Kleer Drain device. A:  Hi, Cinnajo - Yes, Kleer Drain is o.k. for plastic drain pipes. It's advisable that you check all the compression fittings prior to use. Sometimes if the fittings are not tight they can come apart when the air cannister is discharged. Further, be sure to follow all the instructions, especially about covering overflow holes, other sink openings, etc. It's a great tool to try in advance of an expensive plumber call. A:  Yes...If you have a pop-up drain, you'll do better with removing the drain plug & cleaning it. Hair is usually the culprit in a BR drain...if it's ensnared in the pop-up plug, this won't blow it out.

A:  HI, PJ - We're not quite sure what the definition of a "zig zag" actually means, but in a typical under sink installation there can be a series of different bends (such as a p-trap, u-trap, 90 degree elbow, sanitary tee, etc.). Kleer Drain works in all of those situations. Care should be taken to ensure all compression joints are secure as in some rare occasions the instant pressure of the Kleer Drain air discharge (which is not more than a hard pump of a hand plunger) has been known to dislodge some joints (which are easily reassembled). Some severe clogs may not be cleared by the Kleer Drain and require a snake, auger, or service from a professional plumber. Also, be sure to read the instructions before use as adherence to them allows our product to function at its best.

A:  Hi, I have had my VPC Kleen Drain Opener 4-5 years. I have not had any problems with it, I have used it about 4-5 times has always worked well. The cartridge my be off a little? If all else fails I’m sure HD will refund your money purchase a new one. There also could be a flawed mechanism from the manufacturer that can’t be determined. Thanks for your question I’m sure HD will rectify this issue!!

A:  Yes you can use it on outdoor drains. However, keep in mind that it is a little more difficult to seal off all vents and shared drains on outdoor drain pipes.

A:  Likely, yes. At the same time, I'll tell you I found this thing to be pretty useless & returned mine. The cup on the end would not completely cover the drain portal in the toilet. Result?...The gas from the cartridge simply escaped instead of going into the drain pipe to clear the clog. It's like using a plunger & not covering the entire exit portal...all you're doing is going through the motions without clearing anything.

A:  The product does not say anything about using for pool skimmers.

A:  You could try it for that. I would think that you would want to direct the air to push the clog away from the filter and not towards it.
