A: here is a 5 in solar cap, you can search for other designs. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Classy-Caps-5-in-x-5-in-White-PVC-Outdoor-Majestic-Solar-Post-Cap-2-Pack-SLO75W/205786495
A: It;s more of a daylight white, gives off enough light but not overwhelming, works very well and easy to install
A: Daylight white
A: I love these lights, now I wouldn’t say they are quite a daylight bright, they give off such a nice soft blue white light, once when coming home on a foggy night you could see our fence very well through it...hope this was helpful...
A: The lights do not put off a soft white, more like an LED white which I'm not a big fan of but love the look of the caps themselves when their lit up. Wish they have off a softer white though.
A: Daylight white. It is actually a pretty bright light.
A: It is a soft white light
A: Each light uses one AA No-Cd 600 mAH rechargeable battery.
A: I don't know. I've never had to change one. The cost is so little and they last so long it would be better to just purchase another when/if these stop working.
A: This unit has a single AA rechargeable battery.
A: They are solar—no batteries to put in
A: 2
A: yes, they attached to the top of a 4 x 4 post. I have 12 of these attacked to the tops of my privacy screen posts in my back yard. Very pleased
A: No, this product is designed for 4 x 4 post mounting only.
A: Perhaps. You might try toeing them in with longer screws than what is provided. We made our own post where one wasn't and toed it in and then attached top. That way they all sat at the same level all the way around. Then we put little trim around post.
A: Yes, you can do it
A: Yes you can. Remember a true 4x4 is not that. But they work great
A: No but I had a left over 1x4 from a different project and I cut it into 4 inch pieces. I attached the those pieces to my handrail and then attached the lights to them.
A: No, they are made to go over a fence post.
A: I have painted mine after they became tarnished.
A: Apply a coat of clear spray paint, reapply annually. Mike
A: Hi Karen, I can tell you they haven't tarnished a bit as of yet so I can't honestly answer that question for you. Thank you.
A: I used very small amount of tarnex and I have used copper polish. Tarnex worked the best with minimal effort.
A: I have had mind for 1 year and they are not tarnished. And yes they have been exposed to the sun, wind, rain and snow
A: The light is very bright. don't know the lumens, fit is perfect for 4X4 posts
A: I don't know how many lumens they emit. They are bright enough to light up the posts they are on and look VERY attractive up on their posts.
A: Not sure on lumens, but it is NOT bright. Pretty, but not very functional.
A: I have several placed around and they put out a nice white light. I don't remember the lumens. The more light, they more they stay on during the night.
A: Not sure how many lumens but they are pretty bright and can stay on for 8 hours once charged up. They are perfect on my deck and railing posts.
A: Don’t have package with specs. I put these on posts around my deck and I’d say they’re about as bright as a string of tiny white Christmas lights—they outline the deck but that’s about it. More decorative than useful.
A: No
A: Yes
A: Hi Jasonr, we do not offer an adapter for the specified sleeve on Homedepot.com. Thanks for shopping Home Depot!
A: no how ever they do make solar Post Caps that will fit.
A: No because the base is like a box—fits over post so you can nail it into place, then light compartment (with bulb sticking out) fits into base.
A: Don't really know, but here is what we have done on areas where we want lights, just take 4x4 section of post, say 6" or what height you want and place them on your railing. You can tack down the post if you want by screwing them from underneath. We ever put a trim on all side of the post. Actually, we've never gotten around to securing the posts to the railings and they are still there even with some of the high winds we had. Don't ask how cause I don't know and neither have the plastic caps blown off. Now have to say that our posts have been painted and think that has helped the caps stay on better, but no clue for the posts to stay, but we are glad. Enjoy!
A: Not sure of that. WHy not just ad a 3.5 inch piece of 2x4 to nest the light over?
A: it would better to take a small section of post attach it to the rail and put the cap on it.
A: The posts are hollow. Designed to fit over the top of 4x4 posts with screws to secure them into the wood posts
A: No.
A: yes of course you can, if you can think it , you can do it. I would google blue led lights and look for a bright one that uses vary little dc volts good luck.
A: These solar lights are designed to just be installed without modification.Furthermore, a blue light is not going to be beneficial in casting the amount of light desired to accent their location.
A: I believe they do but you'll have to check their inventory
A: no
A: Only on Line
A: they do make solar Post Caps in 6 x 6
A: No but post didn't come above rails, so made a mount out of scrape 5/4" deck boards. Center the mounts over your posts , screw them down, then mount lights with the screws they come with.
