Q:I am looking to install vinyl fence i picked the 6?x6? veranda. The recommended posts are 5x5x8 . Do those posts get cemented directly in ground nor do they need a wood post?

A: my handyman cemented the vinyl post into the ground, as if we did not it would have been 2' taller than the panels. It was strong without wood needed. I have a partial fence we put in over 20 years ago that still is holding up very well.

A: It depends how you want to install your fence and you can do it either way. The wood post inside would add support but it’s perfectly fine to cement just the post into the ground. With our fence we only used wood to support inside on the posts that the gate attached to.

A: None. You would need to have a pressure treated 4x4 post inside of it to support anything.
