A: Hi Rob, thanks for the question. Our installation guide recommends 2-3 feet between spikes for a typical installation. The distance between spikes depends upon the installation shape and soil type. We try to offer enough spikes in the kits to accommodate a typical installation. Since each installation is unique, additional spike packs are available to purchase separately. We hope that helps!
A: I had to buy extra spikes.
A: 2 inch height
A: About 2"
A: It’s about an inch and a half tall.
A: It is 1.5" high. Thanks for the question!
A: The height of the edging is 1 3/8” high. A little shorter than I wanted but it works in my application.
A: Yes. I cut it to the length I needed using heavy duty scissors. Pruning shears would work as well.
A: We recommend using a hacksaw, handsaw, or industrial/heavy duty snips to cut the edging. We strongly urge you to use all safety precautions when cutting, which include wearing protective eye wear and cutting gloves. Thanks for the question!
A: Sure
A: Yes… I used tin snips & it cut easy
A: It'll withstand the normal beating of a string trimmer. Now if you're using any other blade, no guarantees. But mine have held up for 5 years so far.
A: When trimming the grass around your plastic edging, we recommend using only a string trimmer. When used properly, the plastic edging can withstand a string trimmer for many years. We do not, however, recommend using a trimmer with a metal blade. Metal blades will cut the edging. Thanks for the question!
A: Its awfully thick and withstands my weed whacker "slapping" (lol) at it. I've had it in place for a few years now.
A: Hi Gabriel, the edging spikes will pierce through the weed fabric. It is unlikely weeds will grow through the pierced hole (unless it is stretched out significantly after the spike is installed), although we cannot guarantee it won’t happen. Just a reminder that the edging and weed fabric should be installed on top of soil, and not directly on top of grass or weeds. We hope this helps!
A: It probably will the pegs are 6 or8 inches
A: no but need more spikes for it to be secured
A: Hi Josette, the plastic Anchoring Spikes should work well in most soil types. Use a rubber mallet and if you hit a rock, do not try to force the spike through the solid mass. Slightly angling or moving the spike can help to avoid rocks. Wetting the soil also tends to help the rocks and debris underground shift with the force of the spike. If you feel the ground is too concentrated with rock and solid debris, metal spikes do have a higher impact strength than any plastic spike. We hope this helps. Thanks for the question!
A: Too flexible not able to properly support flowers growth from grab grass etc.
A: Your probably out of luck on the warranty. I found in not using all plastic nails . I used galvanized six nails just overlap edging four inches by cutting off bottom lip for a smooth transition . Just make the top lip inner lap for expansion. Don’t waste your time with their connectors you can still use plastic nails in between.
A: You can try seeing if they have longer stakes. That may help
A: This is happening to me also but only after two weeks. I added more stakes so we’ll see how it works. Not sure about warranty’s
A: I suggest reaching out to Vigoro Customer Service to see what they can do for you.
A: I feel that this product might be a bit flimsy for that project. It isn't very deep, and inwould worry that it wouldn't hold well enough against the gravel.
A: Possibly, but I would caution you to look at the depth or height of this border as it’s not extremely deep/tall!
A: It's pretty sturdy, but I don't know if I would rely on it to carry that kind of load. I guess it depends on how much pressure would be put on it. You will DEFINITELY need to buy more stakes to secure. This 60 feet only comes with 12.
A: We do not recommend using this edging as a driveway edging. It is not designed to support vehicular traffic. The edging should be used for landscape installations only. We would recommend a heavier, more rigid edging such as paver edging that is designed to withstand the weight of stone and vehicles.
A: Tin snips, hack saw
A: Yes, I used some chain link cutting pliers to cut mine. Requieres somewhat of strength. I would suggest a hand saw or dremel for quick cutting.
A: Hi Roman, we suggest to cut the edging with heavy duty garden shears or nippers.
A: I actually used a pair of loppers to cut it down to the size I needed. It may not have been the best way, but it worked easily for me!
A: This product is 60 feet in length, the wall height is 1.5 inches. We hope this helps.
