A:  The glass is tempered, ANSI Z97.1-2015 standard certified. The thickness of glass is 0 5/32-in. (4 millimeters).

A:  The dimensions of the glass panel on the 36”x80” is: 66-19/64-in. height, 25-15/16-in. width and 0-5/32-in. (4 millimeters) thick.

A:  The 28-in. door would not be wide enough, while the 30-in. door has a trimming allowance of 1/4-in. on each side, meaning trimming any deeper would be outside of warranty coverage. That said, you would have to take your chances with trimming the 30-in. door. As this is a rail and stile door, it is essential not to damage the dowels which are found at a certain depth in the wood. Trim both sides of the door equally so you don’t need to cut too deep into one single edge, and do not proceed with cutting at the first sign you cut into a dowel so you don’t cut the other ones. A:  The glass panel in the 24-in. door is 66.38-in. (1686 millimeters) high and 14.90-in.(378.6 millimeters) wide, not counting the 0.35-in. (9 millimeters) glass edge which goes into the wood. Feel free to send us an email to doors@eightdoors.com if you need more information.

A:  The doors actual width is 30-in. each. You will need at least 1/16-in. clearance on the hinge jambs for each door, and 1/8-in. clearance on the trim between the doors. That said, the trim between the doors should not be wider than 10/16-in. Alternatively, you can trim the doors up to 1/4-in. on either side, allowing a wider trim to be used between them. A:  Yes, the rails and stiles in this door have a solid pine wood core which can be drilled and have the brackets mounted to them. We advise you pick a door size that will offer 2-in. overhang on each side and 2-in. on the top of the door opening to not leave gaps. A:  yes, that is what we did. This door is hung with barn door hardware. We hung it as a replacement to out master bath and frosted the glass.

A:  If you order two 28” doors to replace 28 3/4” doors, you will have a gap 1 1/2” larger than what is currently there. I doubt you would want that. I would order the 30” doors and be prepared to cut 1 1/4” off the width and 1/2” off the height on each. You might be able to get away with the full 80” height depending on how much clearance you have from the floor. 

A:  Trimming allowance for this door is 1-in. on the bottom and 1/4-in. on each side. That said, it’d be perfectly fine to trim 1-in. off the bottom, however, trimming 1-1/4-in. off the sides may damage the dowels which hold the rails and stiles connected, which would affect the door structure. If you have drywall, you may look into trimming the studs on each side of the door opening to make it wider for the 30-in. door, or fill in the opening with extra material to make it suitable for the the 28-in.
