While they are resistant to humidity & water splashes, it is NOT recommended they be used in a shower stall
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. We do not suggest installing the tiles where they will be in direct, constant water. They are water and humidity resistant, so humidity and water splash are acceptable, however direct waterflow could cause adhesion issues as water could seep between.
Hello, Thank you for your question. They are easy to remove with little to no damage, depending on the surface they were installed on. To make it easy, use a blow dryer to warm up each tile to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners. Use a cleaning product to wash the wall and remove any excess glue left by the Smart Tiles.
Yes, they will most likely peal off the paint from the wall when they are removed. Mike
these sheets are very flexible. You can bend it in half if needed.
Hello, Yes! The Smart Tiles are flexible enough to be installed on a wall with a slight arch. We would love to see pictures of your project once it is finish :-)
Thank you for your question! For textured surfaces, we recommend a couple extra steps such as sanding the wall and applying a primer and wait 72 hours for it to cure. If using paint, you must wait 21 days otherwise the adhesive backing will not adhere properly.
Yes. Our walls have a laminate on it and the peel and stick worked great.
Hello Mary, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. They can easily be removed by applying heat with a hairdryer to the tile and gently pulling from a corner while continuing to apply heat as you go.
Hello Ellie, thank you for your question. Smart Tiles can be installed over wallpaper providing that the area is sleek and smooth. It is important however, to properly clean and dry the surface before applying our peel and stick tile.
I have not tried it over wallpaper. But from my use, I could say the wallpaper needs to be firmly attached to the wall surface. The peel and stick will stick to the paper but if the paper is loose then the peel and stick will be loose, also. Be aware, The peel and stick does telegraph any bumps in the surface it is applied to so if there are overlapping seams or missing wallpaper or bumps where wall paper not entirely removed it will most likely show as a ripple in the peel and stick. I would make sure the wallpaper is clean and not grimy to allow a good sticky surface.
Yes.
Yep, it sticks well on a smoother surface. It is able to stick on drywall. Wallpaper is better than drywall to stick on.
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Smart Tiles. A knockdown texture is unfortunately not ideal for the installation of Smart Tiles. We suggest installing on a smooth. sleek surface to ensure the best adhesion. It is sometimes possible to lightly sand the textured surface then apply primer, allowing at least 72 hours to dry. The surface could then be cleaned and Smart Tiles applied. For more information regarding installation, please visit the official Smart Tiles website.
Clean the walls first with Tsp. The tiles are very adhesive and if wall clean will stick beautifully. Have fun!
Hello, thank you for your question. Metro Campagnola SM1100-04 comes in a pack of 4 tiles. A pack of 4 tiles covers 2.21sqft
I bought mine and took me a few days to install because I had to cut them and match lines as I have a lot of cabinets. They really worked well.
