Easy installation for a nonplumber

So, I had to replace a toilet tank. I was happy to find just a tank and a good price. The instillation was easy and straight forward. But upon unpacking the tank I saw that there was a tube holding the flapper a good 4 inch above the base of the tank - the water saving feature. I'm all for saving water, but this thing would not flush urine! Honestly having to flush 3 time to dispose of urine doesn't do the planet or anyone any good. I was going to replace the whole toilet, but my wife likes the base b/c the bolt covers stay in place when cleaning. So, I gutted it and replaced the tube with the flapper from the old tank and it works fine. Another issue is the bow in the tank causes the seat to fall when put up to pee. It falls in the stream and splashes urine everywhere. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

Works great! Directions were simple and easy to follow. I used the video online, since I am a visual learner.

Very easy to install, nice look, functions well. Remember to check the condition of all items. Although the tank lid is the first item you pull out of the box, it was the last thing I unwrapped and there was a clear chip on it. I have submitted a replacement request with Glacier Bay/HD. Toilet works great!

The lid is on the cheap but functional side. Doesn’t drop down under control. Box boasts the 10 minute installation and I got it in in under 3 hours so, great. Nice looking piece.

I purchased this tank to replace my broken tank on an American Standard toilet. I was able to install it with no problems. It fit perfectly. I was told by a rep at Home Depot that it would only fit a Glacier Bay toilet; not true. I also painted tank top black to match my toilet seat. I am a 68 year old female and completed this task alone.

bought this tank to replace a cracked one on an old toilet. .Didn't want to change the whole toilet., because of cost and work involved. Worked just fine. measured the bolt spacing and it was the same..

Completely fits old American standard toilets as long as the bolt width is similar! (You can find it in another review) works like a charm, only thing is, since my toilet was 1.6 and this is 1.28 I do have to hold the toilet handle for an extra second for the water to complete flush. For $40 you can’t go wrong especially since I’ve had a cracked tank for a year and a half and finally decided to do something about it & not pay a plumber an arm and a leg to come install an entirely new toilet

This tank was the only replacement tank Home Depot carried in-store, so I bought it because there was no other choice. Installed it on my existing bowl no problem, but soon found out that while it's a 1.28 gpf tank, and my bowl is not. Thanks to the reviewer "Jon" in 2018, I found I could go buy a 3/4" PVC compression coupling (about $7), install it on the top of the tube (the existing cap easily pulls off), and then just adjust the valve to fill the water up to about 1/2” below the handle's inner gasket. Then it flushes perfectly.

“Standard” doesn’t hold enough water to flush properly. Fine otherwise.

Mounting bolt distance 5.5 inch on center. 2 inch flush hole. Came with lid and internal flushing parts. I used it to replace my cracked Briggs 4440 tank. I almost bought an entirely new toilet until I found this tank. Installed it myself and saved money. Highly recommend!

It turned out the tank has a 2.5" outlet not a 3" hence a 3" adapter was needed. There is not a clear label on the outside of the box. The tank does not have a sufficient tolerance/clearance spacing away from the wall that causes the back of the tank uptight against the wall and not allowing the lid to fit in on top of the tank.

If you're like me and didn't learn about the Vortens 3464 settlement until after it was too late to file a clam, and you're looking for a tank to replace the one that's flooding your bathroom, then this one will work! This kit is intended for a 1.2 gallon flush instead of the 1.6 gallon of the Vortens, so the flush valve it comes with is not going to work. Just get a universal replacement fill/flush valve set and toss the ones that come with this tank.

Didn’t fit my kohler toilet.

I fully understand that this said "Tank Only" and that's fine, I didn't expect nor want the entire toilet....HOWEVER...since EVERY picture showed the tank Lid, I did assume it came with that. Now I can't seem to find one on the Home Depot website and need one and this replacement tank was in fact shaped differently than the one it replaced. Can anyone help me?
