Bought 6 to replace rotted stairs and Home Depot cut the stair pieces to perfection for me while I was in the store and they were easy to install with 3 in. wood screws and used slip resistant paint - came out beautiful!

Easy in-store pick up and the treads were easy to install. Along with the stringers I purchased, the stairway is now much more stable than the previous one.

Comes in one length only and ends are split
I'm using these to replace old stair treads that are 34" wide. These only come in 48" lengths so I lose a lot to scrap and they cost >$16 each! Would be better in longer lengths. Also HD only carries a limited number so I had to sort through the pile for ones that dont have split ends or large knots. Overall a nice stair tread although the grooves in them collect water which I dont see working favorably in the long run.

There was a 12" crack on one end. Fortunately, I was able to discard it and use the remainder.

POOR QUALITY OF YELLA WOOD TREADS IN STORE. HAD TO BUY IT TO REPLACE ONE THAT WAS ONLY 6 YRS OLD AND FALLING APART SO I COULD GET INTO THE HOUSE. IF IT FALLS APART IT WILL BE THE LAST WOOD I BUY FROM HOME DEPOT. STEP WAS STAPLED WITH YELLAWOOD LOGO. OLD ONE AND NEW ONE. ALMOST EVERY TREAD IN STORE WAS WARPED FULL OF KNOTS OR VOIDS IN WOOD.

It worked as expected. Sturdy, stable. I used as a step in my backyard with two big decorator stones underneath.

Quality control not the greatest.
I purchased 2 of these steps online. The ones I received appeared to have been laying in water and had black stains. I took them back to local store for replacements. The next two I received appeared in good shape, color wise. I mounted them and noticed some cracks and splintering on one board. I glued and sanded and kept finding more splintering. The other board was fine. So out of 4 steps, one was actually in good shape. Quality control sucks!
