It is easy to read from a distance and I like the more precise gradients of smaller rainfalls

Turns Yellow & brittle after 3 yrs in Sun, 9/29/22 bought 2nd one not too costly $5.98, the one on left was 2019. Tip: the lower mounting screw head is much smaller than the upper one (image) to aid in removing but I just keep it on the PVC and have a larger PVC pipe lining in the ground, used a garden hose to blast that hole thru the PVC so no shovel involved.

One reviewer said you have to pull it out of the ground to read it. I don't know what kind they have but mine disconnects from the ground stack very easily, emptied and replaced back on the ground stack that comes with it. Precise Measurements are not important if I want to just know approximately how much rain we got. For the money it's great and I love it.!!!

Pretty good rain gauge that is fairly accurate but will crack somewhat easily in the cold. This gauge can be stuck in the ground/a pot or mounted on a fence or railing to measure rainfall. I also use this gauge when watering the lawn so I know when to move the sprinkler. I used this gauge the last three years and get good measurements but I left water in it once during a night in the 20s and it cracked. I was able to repair the crack with clear caulk but it would be nice to not have to monitor it too much during cold months, ie dumping out water constantly during the winter. It is made in China.

while it is easy to read and durable, it is in 1/8 inches instead of the standard 1/10 inches that everyone else in the united states uses!

It's been dry here with little rain. So it took me a while to notice that the level markings were weird. Instead of 4 marks between 0 and 1/2 inch (which would be equivalent to 10ths of an inch), there are 3 marks. Who measures rainfall in 1/8 ths of an inch? The HD web page shows 1/10 ths markings.

I got this rain gauge to replace one that cracked after several years. I've had it for about a month. There has been several days of rain, so I was able to observe the large capacity for the rain. Last season there was long-term drought, so I didn't use a gauge. I like that it's easy to see and pour out the accumulated rain.

Excellent product. Easy to read. With all of the rain we have had recently, it is interesting to keep track of the amount.

paid 19.95 at your store for this piece of plastic. just found out they are 6.99 online. how can you treat your customers this way? i was hd's biggest fan for years. i hate hd now. you probably don't want to ask me how i feel about anything in the future. get it together. you used to be great.

Replaces one I had for many years, just like it.

Large marks. Easy to see. Easy to mount. Have been able to test it through one rain so know for a fact I am satisfied with the product. Seems strong and can put it where the animals won’t interfere with it

It hasn't rained since I put it up. The last one just the same as this one sprung a leak at the bottom. I did bring it in during the cold weather but I had it for a long time.

This is the second I have bought. The one I bought years ago clipped by a weed eater. The gauge works fine.

Too small and hard to pour out the rain after a storm.

Great product but it should come with/ a bracket that you can slip it in & out of. I made one myself.

The gauge works fine. Unfortunately I found out after my purchase that this exact model rain gauge is available for under $5.00 at several competing stores. Ouch!
