Love the end result.
My husband are experienced diy-ers. We read all the reviews and questions. The biggest complaint was about the corner pieces. The instructions advise bracing for this. I'll show pictures of how we did it. We added a slim bead of white silicone to hide any gaps that might have been shimmed better or had too much glue. We are very happy with the results. See for yourself.

It's an easy process. The panels look fantastic. But you can burn slot of time trying to get the corner seams to sit flush. If you have brand new cement board and the proper angles in the corners, it'll be fine. I ultimately could not get them to sit as tightly as I wanted and heavily sealed the corners. I used white silicone which is fine but I found another color that matches which I may replace with later. Looks fantastic though. Be careful trimming edge. Make sure your blades are sharp.

Installation was straight forward and easy, with the exception of the corner pieces with shelves. The corner pieces were very flexible and didn't stay at a true 90 degrees. I had to use an additional $25 worth of furring strips to hold them tight while the adhesive dried.I've got great pictures but the HD webpage won't let me attach.

    Happy Customer
I'm very happy with the product. Lord knows I'm no handyman but I had no problem installing the wall and it's beautiful. I would recommend it to anybody thinking of tiling, it's cheaper and easier and looks great.

Pretty but overall unhappy with end result
From a distance the end results look fairly nice. Cutting the wall pieces are easy but the corners would not stick to the walls. After removing and replacing with 3 different adhesives, the corners will not lay flat. There were more positive than negative reviews so I decided to give it a try but this small project was a headache. In hindsight, I would have preferred to spend the extra money for a better product. I would not recommend or repurchase.

This surround is pretty for being in the lower price category. I read all the ratings and expected a harder time, but all went smoothly except the corners. If your bath does not have squared walls, it can be tough. We originally used liquid nails as an adhesive and it worked great on the flat surfaces. The corners did not adhere, even with pressure applied for hours. Tub and tile glue did not work either so we used super glue. It's holding strong and looks beautiful.....better than I imagined.

            Marble tub surround
Nice product. Love it in my bathroom. It doesn't fully fit my bathroom corners, but we extra caulked it in the creases so it looks normal. Mostly issue with old houses though and past contractors cutting corners.

Colors don't match, pieces don't fit properly
Seems pricey for plastic with a finish. At least the finish looks nice.....except for the faded looking corners. The center wall also came short. For a standard 60" tub, this product did not have any overlap with the corner shelf pieces and had a small gap on both sides when centered. If the corner pieces were the same color and everything overlapped like it's supposed to, this product would be great. Alas, that wasn't the case.

              Excellent shower surround
I just used this surround to go above my Lyons contour 60x32 tub. I was impressed with the quality and the look. I definitely suggest placing all panels before gluing, to check your placements, especially the side panels, as there is not much overlap. I ended up bringing the sides a little away from the edge of the wall and added trim otherwise would not have had any overlap. When installing we used scrap wood to give us our spacing from the tub. We also used loctite heavy duty adhesive which worked excellent as we did not need to brace the walls after adhering. Was concerned from reviews about the corners, so after installing we used masking tap to aid in holding the corners in place. We did have a little issue with the corner but was our fault for not adding a bead of adhesive to the edges otherwise would have had no issue. Lastly used a rolling pin on the back wall and side panels to help remove any ripples and aid in adherence to the wall.Overall love the surround and install was easier than expected.

Ovation 32 in. x 60 in. x 59 in. 5-Piece Glue-Up Alcove Bath Wall Set in Sand Travertine
First off, I’d probably buy this product again but was a little disappointed in what I received. The item I received had a very noticeable color shade difference between the wall panels and the corner panel than how it appears on the website. The corner panels look same color as displayed on web but the wall panels are much darker. Could be the item that I received was slightly defective. The picture I uploaded looks worse in person than how the photo shows it, but you have an idea. Good thing it’s in the bathroom behind a shower curtain. Secondly, the item was only about 1/16 to 1/8 thick. I guess due to my own lack of research, I thought, and would have preferred, it to be slightly thicker. If you’re considering this product, I would recommend getting the 72in height rather than 60. It looks a lot shorter after placing on wall.

Everything was good except the corner overlap seams didn't fit tight with the flat panels. The molded corners weren't 90°, more like 87° making them want to spring out. I had to rig up some holding fixtures and press them in place for 24 hours while the adhesive dried. It took a couple days to do this, a couple seams at a time.

purchased this item based on the number of positive reviews for $315.00. In hindsight, this is highly overpriced plastic garbage. It looks beautiful, but the fit is absolutely terrible. The manufacturer should allow for a much better overlap between the corner pieces and the back main wall panel. Eyesore of our entire bathroom renovation because the corner pieces keep popping off the wall. I am very upset because again, this item WAS NOT CHEAP. Our installation is for an alcove tub, standard dimensions at 32x60. There BARELY 1/4 in of overlap. If I could cut out the sheetrock and product and return I would. I am very upset with this product and have serious concerns regarding the longevity of this...

While this product is a welcome change from the usual white tub walls, the item that I bought had faded colors for the two corner pieces that made them stand out from the walls, giving a very sub-standard look to the installation. I bought the product with a lot of enthusiasm not minding the additional price this item commanded. During the installation, I was disappointed to see the corner pieces a few shades lighter than the other 3 wall pieces. Since the contractor was waiting, I was unable to run back to the store and return/replace the item and went forward with the installation. Overall, this was a disappointing product for me. See the picture attached. In person, the off shade is much more pronounced than what the picture shows. Hope American Standard folks will take note of this review.

The American Standard wall surround in Beige was a quick refresh with the added convenience of built in corner shelves. I wasn't sure if leaving the existing tile in place was a good idea. But, since the light colored tiles seemed to accent the new surround, I decided to leave them in place, minimizing my efforts. The panels are beautiful, lightweight and have the corner shelves I always wanted. This keeps the miscellaneous soap dish, shampoos, creme rinses, etc., items out of the shower stream. I purchased four (4) tubes of adhesives made for Tub Surrounds from Home Depot. Better to have extra in case, than not enough once you start to lay up the panels. I used a sacrificial wood scrap to drill through the panel to cut the faucet and valve holes. Easier than I expected What I like: ** Light weight ** Thin, look similar to marble ** Corner shelves built in for soap dishes and other items

Colony 32 in. x 60 in. 5-Piece Glue-Up Alcove Bath Wall Set in Beige Parchment There are several great customer reviews on the Home Depot website about this product so I'm not going to try to reinvent the wheel- or the review, as it may be. Suffice to say that this is an elegant product in design and simplicity of installation - at least for those of us that have installed these before. I'm going over tile so will have some prep work to do. And this surround is slightly shorter than my existing enclosure so am planning a crown top. While mine will be wood, there are many other finishing products that can be used for capping and side profiles if wanted. Just ask the store rep. What's nice about this installation is the design of the corner pieces. With the overlapping edges there are no extra butt or corner joints to secure with screws and caulking. Everything just fits together when glued. Kudos to the designer. The hardest part is measuring for existing fixtures. But if you don't think you can tackle a new surround, this is about as good as it gets - bragging rights included.

This 5-piece shower surround from American Standard is the perfect solution to quickly and inexpensively spruce up a shower alcove. The surround is ABS plastic, but resembles travertine stone. The surround is also available in other colors and finishes. This bath set comes in five pieces consisting of a back wall, a left and right wall, and two corners with shelves. Assembly is required. Installation is fairly easy, but some wall prep is needed to ensure the adhesive sticks. I found an installation video on Youtube with step-by-step instructions published by The Home Depot that was helpful. The most difficult part of the installation is making sure the holes in the side walls for the valve and tub spout are in the correct position. Using a sufficient amount of adhesive with good initial tack strength is key to a successful installation. You also can fabricate braces out of 2x4 studs to hold the panel walls in place while they cure. Since the corner piece will overlap the side wall, there is some margin for error, but the holes for the valve and spout need to be correctly spaced and oriented. You also need to be certain the backer wall is smooth and square prior to installation. The corner shelves are small and narrow, and won’t hold more than a bar of soap or a single bottle of shampoo or conditioner, but are useful and help to keep the shower area neatly organized. When installed the walls appear thick, but in reality, they are only about 1/16 of an inch. All of the surfaces of this surround are smooth including the shelves, and become slick when wet. The surface is shiny and easy to wipe clean, but seems like it would scratch easily, so you need to be careful not to scrub with anything abrasive. While I wish there was a wash cloth and towel rack incorporated into the walls, and a shelf dedicated to holding soap that either is recessed so wet soap doesn't slide out into the tub, or with ridges to allow the soap to dry, overall, I am very satisfied with this surround.

The Silver Celestial color and high gloss surface finish are beautiful. The surface is smooth with no texture, it is similar in appearance and finish to a glossy smooth plastic laminate with color in shades of medium to light gray (see photo). Maintenance of this surface requires attention to very specific care instructions – see photo. Installation Instructions provided are excellent – very detailed and well illustrated. Back and side flat panels are cut square and well finished – the 2 corner panels however show an apparent lack of quality control – see photo of the bottom of one of these panels, it clearly shows what appears to be an unfinished bottom, both corner panels exhibited uneven and poorly finished bottoms. This can be "flattened" and or covered by white sealant where is rests on the bathtub deck. The panels are .086” thick (slightly less than 3/32”) with unfinished edges which need a sealant at all edges (see photo).

This shower surround is nice looking and fairly easy to work with and install, it is ABS plastic. The shelves are a little on the small side (about 5 inches deep) in a semicircle, also it would have been nice if the shelves had texture or ribs to hold the shampoo and soap and to also drain water from under the soap to let it dry. As it is the shelves are a little slick for my liking. The size of the enclosure is a little variable as the over laps where the pieces fit together will let you adjust the depth a little over an inch (about 30 7/8” to 32 ¼”) and the width about 3 inches (about 57 3/8” to 60 3/8”). They say it will fit 60”x30” and 60”x32”. The panels are about 59” tall. The material is about 1/16 of an inch thick I would have preferred slightly thicker as it would not have been so floppy and would have made it easier to work with. In the list of tools needed it says nothing about what you use to glue up the panels with, it lists silicone sealant, but it looks like from what I read that what you should use is something like Loctite Power Grab to stick it to the wall. The design on the face appears to be very thin so it might be easy to scratch or wear off the design. All in all a very nice looking surround that is easy to install.

I recommend this product conditionally. I could have given it a more positive rating had I known what I know now before I started. Please know I am an accomplished professional remodeling contractor & I thoroughly read the installation instructions a few times before I began. I had to install this set twice because the first tub surround adhesive I used completely failed to adhere to the surround walls. The advantage to it's complete failure is that it did not damage anything when I easily pulled it off the walls because the surround was pulling away within 24 hours. I contacted American Standard about the issue & was advised my situation was unheard of & after several of the tech support people conferred, offered me the names of two tub surround adhesives to use -the first one is the one I used. I contacted the second adhesive manufacturer recommended & they advised their tub adhesive would fail as well due to the properties of the tub surround material & finish. They recommended a different product they make -Liquid Nails Fuse it, which is not a tub surround adhesive but it was their only adhesive that would work. I voiced my concern about bleed through & was advised they could not guarantee it would not bleed through because it was not made for tub surrounds but they had not had bleed through issues with this type of material reported. I used this product with success & there is no bleed through a week after the install. Another challenge with this wall set is that the molded corners are relatively narrow. The issue this creates is if the framed walls are out even an 1/8" from the angles of the corner pieces, there are gaps that cannot be made tight where the molded shelves are located as the corner pieces will not flex enough to make up the difference. I was fortunate to find a caulk that looked ok to matching the colors in the surround pattern to fill the gaps -creating a matching sealant is something I wish American Standard would look into. There are no flanges on this tub surround wall set so mechanical fasteners cannot be used to assist with the install. So if your corners do not nearly exactly match the angle of the corner pieces, you have to wait for the side & back walls to fully cure before you try to install the corners or they might pull the other pieces off the wall -this adds another 24 hours to the install process. If you have to cut this material, I found a jig saw with a blade specifically designed for cutting laminate to work better than anything else. The corner pieces I received in my set are slightly lighter in color than the back and side pieces. Overall, the finished project looks very nice & it will require minimal maintenance with proper cleaning however, the time and effort required to finish this project was anything but easy or fast.

The Colony 32 inch × 60 inch 5-Piece Glue Up Alcove Bath Tub Surround is the centerpiece of a main floor front bath that had only a few cosmetic uplifts to its early original 1970's construction. It had developed a leak somewhere in the drain pipe or trap, so a complete removal of original tub, tile, drywall (damaged & rotting as a result of water leak) was necessary. The original tub has to be cut to enable removal, additional room drywall has to be removed for proper installation of new tub. Drain pipe, trap, - additional pipe need to be replaced, & new tub installed. Then installation of backer board prior to install of tub surround. Some use a product such as RediBoard, but I elected to go with Durock Cement board screwed into frame. A special cement tape must be used to seal joints prior to 'mudding' with a ThinSet mortar. After drying, light sanding & cleanup of all dust & debris, to administer a 2 coat application of a primer/sealant necessary prior to install of tub surround. Now the big moment: installation of tub surround. Have all necessary tools prior to start. I used a measuring tape, masking tape, pencil, power drill, 1-1/2" Hole saw & 3" Hole saw. The blades & drillbits for power drill I purchased from Home Depot. I made a cut to spec cardboard 'mockup' of tub surround wall that has the showerhead, faucet & spigot prior to beginning tub surround install. The manufacturers instructions were detailed, illustrated, clear & concise. After following the directives to position, tape w/masking tape, & mark wall placement with outline of piece w/pen or marker, I then used cardboard mockup cut to exact size of faucet tub wall to itemize measurements of showerhead, faucet & spigot. I cut out specified areas & 'testdrove' cardboard wall on actual wall outline to confirm measurements were correct. I then turned actual faucet wall face down & transferred correct & tested measured cut outs to tub surround back. Using the 2 different hole saws for applicable hardware cutout opening, I began to cut braced & secure wall, pressing firmly down & then rocking in a circular movement until hole cut from back to front. Prior to actual application, an adhesive must be applied to wall within the prepared area on backer board. Tub surround instructions have excellent illustration of proper adhesive pattern for thorough adhesion. When adhesive application is finished, gently position wall within marked outline, bottom first & then move up, pressing wall firmly to backer board, & rubbing out any areas not flush with board. I used a rolling pin to put smooth, firm pressure on tub wall to make sure it was solidly secure. I followed this procedure for all walls & corners. After a rather involved process of removal of old original bath hardware & construction, installation of the tub surround was a breeze! Everything you need for installation instructions & following care of product are all provided by the manufacturer. I love the Colony 5- piece 32" × 60" Alcove Bath Tub Surround! Sleek, & stylish with quality, strong construction & great curb appeal. So thankful it is part of our home, & it will be enjoyed for many, many years! I definitely recommend this product!
