I bought this dado to replace one I’ve had for about 25 years. I wish I had spent more for a better product. My first pass tore up the oak ply I was using. Running with the grain of hardwood is okay, but skip the ply.

I bought this set for making some drawers for kitchen cabinet upgrade. I read some of the other reviews and decided to give this set a try and I wasn't disappointed with the results. The bottoms of the grooves were flat and the sides of the groove are square. I guess if you look hard enough you might be able to find fault but I didn't. I wonder if some of the problems in other reviews are operator error. I like the set it is a good quality with plenty of shims to fine tune the cut and the storage box is nice for keeping everything in one place. This set should be fine for most DIY projects and the $60 price is easy on the wallet. If you want Norm Abrams quality maybe you should spend 2 or 3 times as much for other dado sets. This one does well for my needs.

This set cuts a dado with square sides but has a rounded, semi flat bottom with major “bat ears”. This is not acceptable for any type of finish work. If you need to cut dados on something that doesn’t matter much then this is fine. I would spend the extra money and get the better quality Diablo set.

Of course this cuts a groove but there’s no way that I know of to get an angled blade tooth to cut a flat bottom groove. It just won’t happen. I should have known from the moment I polled it out of the package but instead I kept trying because I didn’t want to spend the extra $40 for the Freud blade. This one is going back tomorrow to exchange it for the more expensive one.

Great value! This set was the exact same price as at a discount tool retailer, but was a name brand and came with a storage case. I purchased this set to complete a goat fence railing project for my porch and it worked wonderfully with my job site table saw.

Trying to make a 1/4 cut and this is the result. Made attempts to adjust with no changes to the cut.

according to some reviews I read before stated the slots don't come out flush. So I took it to my own evaluation and tested the product out my self and it does seemed that it leaves an indentation in the center of the entire cuts no matter how many blades you put in to make what ever width you need. I tried adjusting the blades in what ever former you can including the use of the shims, but no solution. it seems like the chippers are not quite evenly formated with the two out side blades. if you look really closely there's an arch on each cut on material no matter how long or wide the cut is leaving a visible appearance when joining the boards together

I needed a new set of 8 inch Dado blades for my new table saw, I found these at Home Depot and the come in a very good wooden box for storage. Why that is important is that while I do use dado, rabbets and grooves a lot, My Dado blades spend a lot of time being stored. So good storage and inexpensive are a couple top issues for me. Next is a clean cut, This set does a clean cut, I am sure if you spend two or three times as much you may get a smother or flatter dado, but in most cases this set will do the job you need and if not a little sanding will make it perfect. I have not gone piece by piece to check the measurements, I most likely never will, I always check my cuts on scrap wood before I cut into my projects and soon I will have a chart of just what combos give me perfect cuts on my most used sizes. If you need perfect dados, may not be the set for you, as a hobbyist, I can tell you they work fine for over 90% of what I need and my router keeps care of the rest.

I would only buy this product for rough dados. Not for any fine cuts or on plywood. This is not a flat bottom dado. This set leaves a v groove dado. Wish home depot would discontinue this item. Bought used once and returned.

I needed a simple cut on a bunch of doors (to change an overlay kitchen cabinet door into a partial inset door). Router seemed to struggle, so decided to go with the Dado blade. I looked at the $100 and higher versions, but this $50 Avanti Pro set worked Perfectly! Love the wooden case too. I may never need a dado blade again, so the price/value goes to Avanti!

Great Dado set. I cruelly put the set to work cutting slots in wet pressure treated 2x4's fully expecting them to get lumber jammed in the middle gaps. They performed flawlessly mounted to a RIDGID table saw. The blades cut with ease and left a 3/8's slot with a almost square bottom, much better than I expected! There was a very slight ridge in the bottom but not a problem for the fence rails i was making. I did try them on a dry 2x4 and the ridge was minimal. The set comes in a nice wooden storage box as a bonus! I haven't used them for precision work or wide slots yet, but impressed so far...

The outside blades cut deeper than the dado blades. This leaves and uneven surface in the joint. Not acceptable for woodworking. I wasted $50 for a set that I can't use

Don't waist your time or money on this dado kit. Does not cut accurate or even precise cuts. left a concave or half moon cut on my dado joint. Though the outer blades did cut clean cuts the chipper blades are useless. I have a 6 inch set of Craftsman dado blades that are awesome. Will stick with them for now on.

The internal blades for cutting are not the same length as the outside blades by at least one 1/32". Terrible. Where is the precision? Leaves grooves. I did better work with a single blade and slowly adjusting the fence.

I bought these blades because they came in a wood box which would make storage easy and were $50 versus $100. They are junk. They do not make a flat bottom cut in the middle where they should, one of the 1/8 chipper blades is just a fraction too small for my saws arbor and gets stuck and they are not true fractions. My set of calipers told me that the .60 mm spacers that you have to use between the inside and outside blades are actually like .64 mm and when you stack that up with the chipper that is suppost to be 1/8 but is actually a 32nd bigger, that makes for a larger cut and a larger cut is no good for trying to make precision box joint cuts. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation and buy a quality set of dado blades.
