Like other reviewers stated, this set is useless for cutting any precision dados. I wish I’d tried them sooner, within the return period. The chippers cut at different depths and the outside blades cut deeper on the outer edge of the tooth. I don’t understand why this product has a good rating. It really needs to be discontinued.

Poor. The outside blades are taller than the inside cuts. All my dado cuts look like a little batman with pointy ears. I should return this but it's a shrine to buying cheap and why I generally should not.

It was hard to find the total width capable of cut, while honest competition it is the first thing they state. I was looking for a 7/8 in total width and felt short of it at 13/16 in. I will not buy Diablo brand, but I will buy Dewalt next time.

The blades cut well. The problem is, they are very expensive and the width of the cut they make is much larger than the wood you purchase. For example a 1/4 inch sheet of plywood is much thinner than a 1/4 inch and the dado blades cut a bit larger than 1/4 inch. so I have to shim things to make them tight. Doesn't make sense to spend that kind of money on a time saver that doesn't save time....

Great set for the money! ...I cut perfect dados with this.

the dado set is easy to set up and produces a nice Ean cit.

Seems like a nice set comes in a wooden carrying case, works nice, so it's good!

Overall, since this set is about half-price of any others, it seems fair that the quality is about half as good as the others too. If you only plan to use this for one or two projects it isn't a bad investment, but if you intend to use it quite a bit over time, save your money and buy a better quality set. I've used them about twice a month since I bought them, mostly on pine, and I've lost three of the carbide teeth from some of the chippers. Also, as others have reported, the bottom of the dados are uneven as it seems each blade/chipper is very slightly different outside diameters (or there is too much slop on the mandril.) It isn't very significant (can be sanded away fairly quickly) but it shouldn't be there.

My first time using dado blades, cut 3/8 " x 1/2" deep grooves into pressure treated 2x4s and worked great

I can only get 5/8 wide on my saw but it works great and that was all I needed.

Worked great for me. Make sure that your saw arbor is long enough to take the set. I had to use my lathe to make an adapter for cutting a 3/4" slot.

I bought this dado set maybe five years ago at my local Home Depot. I've had need of a decent dado set over the years and this product gave the impression it might be a good value. It has never worked well. I got it out the other day and graciously gave it one more chance to cut some box joints. Since I recently bought myself a circular saw blade sharpener, I figured a little touch up might make the difference–but it didn't. Setting the blades up with my box joint jig it proceeded to give me the most profoundly terrible results i've ever seen. The chippers (which I did not sharpen) are so variable in size and length that the bottom of each recess wasn't anything approaching flat or even, but jagged and sloped. The blades burrned their way through even the thinnest of test pieces. I was so impressed with how bad this set operated that I went inside and checked other online reviews to see what people had to say. To my relief I was met (without having to filter my results) with a string of one star reviews making the exact complaints I had with the set-very inaccurate cuts without flat bottoms and generally rotten results. I am not sure what the four and five star reviewers on this site are doing to make this set useable, but I am warning you that you will not be pleased with its performance. Beware: it looks like a decent enough set with nice looking components and in a nice wooden box, but the box and shims are the only worthy elements in this purchase. It is an incredibly horrible piece of junk.
