Not worth the price and the effort
Spent over $600 on this plus all the recommended tools and prep solution and followed the directions to the letter. Did not last through the winter. I would not purchase this product. We will now have to spend a lot of time stripping this and start over with something else.

    Traps moisture
Ruined my deck. I have ti replace a few boards, and figure out how to get the rest off so it doesn't destroy the rest if my deck.

Deckover in Chestnut: Great product! Very thick with good coverage and wear & tear qualities. No marks when we pushed furniture around on it a few days after application. Of note, we applied it with brushes as we tried to use the Deckover roller but it splattered paint everywhere and did not cover evenly. It wouldn’t recommend the roller.

      Color Does Not Match
In the sun, this color is almost baby blue! Super disappointed because I thought I was getting a neutral grey. I was hoping maybe it would darken after the second coat. But now it's probably going to lighten even more in the sun. The application was nice, paint is thick and fills cracks. It will be interesting to see how it wears.

Hi Emily, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear the color did not turn out as expected. Typically, lighting and surroundings can affect the overall look of the color. It's best to sample colors first. Also, it should not lighten with the sun as Advanced DeckOver offers fade resistance. Customer satisfaction is important to us. We put 2 coats on an it’s already chipping off an it’s only been 30 days We let the wood dry out completely before putting the coats on I wouldn’t recommend Save money an use a good quality stain

This JUNK will ROT your deck!
Run far away from this junk, after the 1st year our deck started rotting due to this trapping moisture in the wood. I've replaced some of the boards and now a couple years later and I'll have to spend thousands of dollars replacing the entire deck. I do plan to seek advice on holding them responsible for knowingly selling this even after losing a class action lawsuit for this issue knowing it would destroy peoples property!(I have much more I want to say but am being limited to 500 letters)

          Rotted my deck boards
I applied this product 2 years ago and all my deck boards including the top of the joists were rotted . How a company can continue to make a product so horrible is puzzling. Horrible product !!

Deck Over RUINED my back deck!!
My back deck is rotted because Deck Over was applied to it. There is no other reason that the boards on my 5-6 year old deck should be crumbling apart. The entire deck will have to be rebuilt. I also just found out that there is a class action lawsuit against this product.

The latest iteration of Behr paint is THICK compared to ones I’ve used in the past. Despite this, it rolls out smoothly and has revived an older deck back to life. I did end up needing to go back to the store for an additional can despite measuring the square footage, so depending upon the condition or type of material you’re painting, you may want to plan purchasing more than you anticipate. Overall, I’m pleased with the outcome; hopefully it can withstand several seasons of use.

              Regret using this product
Writing this review 18 months after install. I followed all the installation and prep instructions, including using the cleaning products. Applying the product was straightforward but very labor intensive. Brushing it in took a long time and was difficult due to the thick consistency of the product. Year 1 the coating looked good, it's not a magic fix but it did make the deck look better. Year 2, it's peeling up in large pieces and looks terrible. I regret using this product.

Hi Ryan, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that our Advanced Deckover is starting to peel. To fix the issue, I'd recommend removing the loose stain by scraping, sanding, or power washing at a low level. Then clean the surface with the All-In-One Wood Cleaner and let it dry, then apply 2 coats of the Advanced Deckover or our Solid-Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer. Dirty footprints cannot be rinsed off
Small 10' x 12' deck, finished in smooth - color harbor gray. This color /product absorbs every footprint, shoed or bare-footed, and the prints have to be scrubbed out with a hard bristle brush and warm soapy water. And I mean scrubbed. It's made the maintenance of this deck a nightmare.

Hi DeeVee, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you're having cleaning off dirty footprints. That's not the experience we want for our customers, and I can understand your disappointment. I recommend using the All-In-One Wood Cleaner to clean the surface. This can be used diluted or full strength on tough stains. You can also use the Solid Stain in the same color to apply another coat. This will also smooth out the surface a bit more, which will be easier to clean. We appreciate your feedback. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us directly. Ruined my deck
I purchased this product thinking I wouldn’t have to paint so often. It worked for the first couple of years. Then it wound up ruining my deck. Water gets underneath it causing the paint to bubble up and the boards to rot. I’ve had to replace many boards. I would not recommend the product.

                      New Life!
This was definitely more of an undertaking than I anticipated, but well worth it. The prep work was the absolute worst part and took so much longer than I care to admit. The consistency and the texture of the deck over wasn’t quite what I anticipated (thicker and grittier to the touch than I thought even though I got the smooth finish). But I completely understand the why behind it now that I’ve used it. I’m super happy with the overall product.

I purchased the chocolate color. I love the color but the deck over is thick it will jam a paint spray machine. This product must be painted onto your deck by hand. So if you plan to us a sprayer you should purchase a colored stain and not deck over

                        Behr Premium Advanced DeckOver Smooth
This is the worst Behr product I have ever used to paint concrete. I had to use 3 cans and had part left of 1 can to paint my concrete covered porch. The label in the back states you can use on concrete surfaces, I would not recommend it. Be aware that this Behr Premium Advanced DeckOver peels on concrete. When I reopened the can to paint the sanded areas that had peeled it was completely solid, not usable, worthless. I used a totally different brand to paint my pool deck.

The Advanced Deckover is formulated to be applied to properly prepared concrete surfaces, so I can understand your disappointment. I ordered the textured type since we were mixing new wood with well-worn old wood. I am very pleased with the ability to fill in cracks. The color is true to the website. They exceeded their delivery estimates every time even when ordering on a holiday weekend. Coverage was equal or slightly better than advertised. I will recommend and buy again for the next project!

Slate gray is actually light blue gray
This paint is extremely thick and goopy and not easily spread but the main issue is that it went on a completely different color than what I chose. Even the dot on the paint can is different than the color it made my deck. I wanted slate gray and this is a very light blue gray.

                              Thick and leaves roller marks
Worst paint ever. Extremely thick and doesn’t spread well at all. Drys in the container before you can get it painted on the deck. Used four gallons of paint 7 days ago and you can see every roller mark. Purchased more paint thinking it needed another coat…big mistake. Still can see roller marks. So frustrated. Too much money spent on this paint for it to look this bad. Do not purchase this paint.

Hi DGH1, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear our DeckOver seemed too thick and left roller marks. To fix this, I recommend letting the last coat for at least 24 hours. Then apply another coat using little to no pressure with your roller while maintaining a wet edge. This product should have the consistency of oatmeal or mud, but if it seems thicker than this and stirring doesn't help, I don't recommend using it. Ensuring our customers are happy is our top priority, and we are eager to help get your project back on track. Please feel free to reach out to us directly for any additional support. So much time and money wasted!
I paid up to get what I thought was the best available paint to protect my decks for as long as possible. These poor reviews are totally accurate. When I first applied a couple years ago some areas bubbled and had to be peeled and repainted. Now I have a couple steps rotting and lots peeling. After peeling the paint away I found that the paint has been holding water under neath and is actually rotting my deck not protecting it. I’m so disappointed now I have to strip it all off and redo it.

Hi Nick, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the peeling/bubbling and rotting boards on your deck project. This isn't the experience we want our customers to have. To fix this, I recommend removing the loose/peeling coating and sanding smooth any leftover edges with 80-grit sandpaper. Then, replace any deck boards that are rotting and clean the entire surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner. Finally, you can reapply our DeckOver to all board sides to prevent moisture from getting trapped in the wood. How can someone write a decent review with a 500 character limit? I wrote up a nice one, but it will not fit in this small space. Deck still looks good after a year, had alot more to say, but I guess I can't due to this limit on characters. Oh well. First pic was from last summer, second pick from this summer. Used Valise color.

I bought the redwood solid stain and applied it to my deck. the finish is great and the color looks rich. The stain itself is really thick and I ended up using a 4" brush for the entire job because it just didn't work well on a roller. having said that, the stain is almost like a gel and fills cracks and dings very well so you end up with a very smooth finish. I don't know if this product could be used in a sprayer due to thickness. overall I'm very happy with this stain and the final outcome.
