I purchased this product to move 16 gallons of very old gasoline from a salvaged tank to the hazardous waste event in Mesa, Az. It turned out it was not needed as I was able to make multiple trips with a 5 gallon tank. I spend thousands each year at Home Depot and appreciate the ease of returning an item. If this ease of return was not there I would shop elsewhere.

Pouring mechanism is VERY poor
The pouring mechanism in these cans was poorly designed -- for all the reasons others have noted. It also breaks easily.

Good value for money
The safety nozzle is a pain, otherwise it is a good purchase. I bought 3 to keep as a backup for any natural disasters. Hope not to use it though.

Decent quality large sized gas can
I recent moved, and my commute increased from a mere 3 miles bicycle ride to a 35 mile slog through traffic. With that, came much more frequent stops to the gas station, so I was looking for the largest gas can I can buy to increase the time between fill ups. This gas can is the largest that the CA state fire code would allow. I was concerned about how heavy the gas can is going to be for fill up purposes, but I could support the wait on my lower thighs, so that was a non issue.
I do not have too much trouble with the new type of spouts. However, I am skeptical of the quality of the spout itself. Let us hope it lasts for a while.

Gas Can
This is a good gas can. If it was not for the nozzle it would score much higher. However, it is very hard to find gas cans without the new EPA nozzle so I would still recommend the product

Great gas can but spout is awful
Gas can itself is great hold 6 gallon and doesn't leak but the spout is hard to open to get the gas to come out. Most of the time I just use a funnel and take the spout completely off.

Nozzle design is flawed
The nozzle broke after 3 times of use.
When you twist the green spring loaded cap to the "on" position, it wants to keep twisting back to "off". IF you can get it working, you'll then need to push down on the nozzle for the gas to flow through. Unfortunately, this is where the big problem is. Sometimes the nozzle gets caught in the car's gas fuel line. While I was trying to remove the nozzle, it got caught and the whole contraption fell apart.

Piece of Junk
Yet another device with a poorly conceived safety plan. The "safety nozzle" came apart on the second use. You must turn a green colored ring and align slots in this ring with ridges on the black nozzle. This action allows the nozzle to depress into the can which in turn opens a butterfly valve allowing the fuel to flow out of the container. On the second use the connection between the butterfly valve and the mechanism that opens it became disconnected, and the nozzle actually fell on the ground, so that the butterfly valve will no longer open. I will return this piece of junk to Home Depot this afternoon and will return the second on when it breaks on its second use. My advise, to you, is to go to your local auto parts store and examine their fuel cans so as to be sure they do not have some ridiculous safety mechanism as his can has.

Doesn't work at all
The anti-leak function is also anti-work, no matter what it won't release the value and pour. Will try to return it but not sure I can with 5 gallons of gas in it.

Don't buy it
The container itself is good. What good is a good gas can if you can't get the gas out of the can? The nozzle is completely useless. All nozzles broke on first use. I bought 5 cans and had to go on ebay to buy regular old fashion nozzles to replace all the originals. What a waste.

Can is great -- spout, not so great
The pour spout is really not sturdy enough for this large a can (6 gal.). I already broke one of the 3 spouts for the 3 cans I purchased AND I was only emptying the last half gallon out of the can because I used a syphon to get the first 5.5 gals.

6 gal. Gas Can
I agree with the rest of the crowd. That is the dumbest spout I have ever worked with. After trying to follow the instructions how to pull and push down the green part to unlock the spill, still nothing comes out. I thought it is me but no, it is the engineering/design on the spout. My advice, throw out the spout right away, don't even try to figure it out, and use an old fashion funnel. Otherwise it might create unnecessary headaches.

Strong & compact- yet has large capacity; smooth pouring.
This can meets my needs very well. Well built & reliable. Tight sealing cap with design that stops most spills and leaks. User must learn how to twist the pouring valve to eliminate leaks. I like this can very much and would recommend it to most anyone.

Whatever happened to quality control
The seams were never removed, thus digging into your fingers when lifting it up. Had to grind them off myself. This way on all four cans

The spout is a nightmare
Why can't someone make a simple gas can simple to use for a gal like me? I could not figure out how to hold the green thing in place in order to pour the gasoline. Result was I got gasoline all over my gloves. I'll take one reviewers suggestion of just using a funnel and pouring straight from the can.

large capacity, did the job!!
after reading a bunch of reviews on various containers, it seems like nobody is really satisfied with any of their purchases. i think with any container, you should expect to have a little bit of leakage but if you really use it the way the manuf instructs you to, it should be fine. when filled to capacity, the container does get heavy and might be difficult to hold high to for long periods to release to a car gas tank, but then i would recommend two people to handle it. overall, i luv the large capacity, and i would recommend this product.

Just bought 4 of these to go with my new Generator
These are by far the best gas cans I could have asked for... the quality is unmatched. I love that they are 6 gallons, and the tank in my generator is 6 gallons, so that makes it a perfect one to one ratio. I also love the pouring mechanism that other folks seem to dislike. I find it easy to use and above all, extremely safe. Simply twist the green lock and push in the pouring spout to enable the flow of gas. Only dislike I would have to say is that 6 gallons of gas is a bit hard to lift waist high, in order to fill my generator i did have to bring over a chair to put the can on so that the bulk of the lifting was on the chair and not my arms. But overall, VERY happy with these cans.

Difficult to pour
The new "approvied" nozzle mechanism is, to put it mildly, a pain. The can itself is good quality but lifting 6 gallons to waist height to fill a generator, and trying to keep that nozzle engaged until you can prop the spout on the fill opening is no small task, and I am a pretty strong person! There must be a better way. Would not recommend unles you are a really strong person.

It's a gas can.
Bought 5 of these to have gas on hand for my generator.
I like that they are 6 gal capacity. The nozzles are the new fangled safety thingys that are kind if a pain but if they really bother you, buy an aftermarket old style kind. Great deal for the money.

Great gas can for the price.
These cans are 6 gallons, not the typical 5 gallon cans. I use 4 of these to add fuel to my 110 gallon capacity boat. The larger size makes a difference when using multiple cans. the spill-proof nozzles work extremely well. there is an initial slight leakage when twisting the spill proof nozzle to get it aligned to pour, but it is nominal and a rag will keep you and the environment clean. they are a little slow to empty out but that is the trade-off for the spill-proof nozzle. Got these for $15 each, outstanding value. larger capacity and spill-proof nozzles.
