These were great to use! Easy to score/cut. And saved us a ton in materials and labor for our brick patio! My parents have a small project to do and were quickly interested in how I completed my patio and used these, saving them several trips for materials and cost as well. And now that my little sister saw I was able to do a large DIY patio, she's also attempting to recruit me to help her with a walkway as well. Would highly recommend to any DIYer.

The Paver Base Panel is ESSENTIAL to a smooth looking and successful project overall.

This was my first time installing a paver patio. Having to dig down 8in+ and hauling in gravel didn't sound appealing. The section I installed is 8x8 and I completed it in 2 days, the slope on our yard was a challenge so the first day was figuring out the best placement and removing dirt, second day was laying the pavers. These made the job surprisingly easy.

I'm not sure what me and the other guy from just a few days did wrong, but these panels are AWFUL! I've done a few walkways and patios previously with the old process of gravel, stone dust, and sand, and although it's time-consuming, I find these took more of my time because although the concept is good, the execution is horrendous! I had to dig out even more. They don't stay together well, and are overall cheap styrofoam boards that are expensive. When I was finally done wrestling with them and got them laid out, it looked awful. Just pulled them all up and have them boxed to be returned. I hope I get the $520 I spent for TWO boxes of these back because they are useless and I'm going back to the right way. This is a bad shortcut that added more work and time in the end. Awful.

We transformed out backyard with three projects and used the Brock PaverBase in each install. These allowed us to do the work entirely with only my wife and I doing the work. We could not be happier with the results. We were careful to do the base prep as instructed. We used crusher run and pipes to screed the sand to perfect level. Add a PaverBase, lay your pavers, install restraints, poly sand and DONE. The patio and sidewalk are absolutely as solid as poured concrete. I had such confidence that I used them to build a foundation for a "kit" fireplace as well. In this instance I did create a larger depth sub base and packed the substrate a lot. Was extremely careful to check level, I am convinced that the engineering that helps distribute the weight is pivotal to the success of this project as well. Our fireplace has not settled in the slightest. Our last project was a sidewalk and once again these created a super foundation for our pavers. Because we were going up a slight slope I am also convinced these helped create a perfect transition from bottom to top. One thing I did learn: Don't use a very heavy vibrating compactor in conjunction with these to settle your ploy sand like all the videos show to do. Hand tamp your pavers and back fill with needed poly. LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.

The Product is a little on the high side when it comes too price but it is definitely a quality product. I put these over pea gravel and paver sand.... I should say before this project I had paver stones directly on top of dirt. No longer do I have uneven stones but a level professional looking and soft in the feet patio to enjoy.

This is so easy to use! We can't tell you how long it holds up over the, but we love the quick process of creating a patio.

The Brock Paver Base Panels are simply marvelous! They made my DIY patio project very clean and helped the bricks lay very tight! Because they are a specific size and fit together like puzzle pieces, they made planning the project much easier so that I knew how many bricks would fit in the 20x36" area of each panel. I have nothing but high praise for this product!

I purchased six boxes of these paver base panels for a 20 x 24 brick patio based on an article in Home Handyman. The old patio had been installed incorrectly so I removed all of the bricks and cleaned them then re-installed them over these panels after packing and leveling the sand. The panels help provide a firm base to walk on. There is some tendency for the panels to move a bit so placing a brick or two on them until you're ready to install the pavers helps. Making sure the locking grooves are clear of sand also helps. I recommend this product because it speeds up installing a patio dramatically.

Easy to use. Little pricey for what it is. Installed in late 2017 northeast Ohio. Saved us thousands since we did not commission a contractor. I used these panels for installing my walkway. They made it so easy to get the bricks perfectly even. And, four years later, despite our cold Colorado winters and heavy spring rains, not a single brick is out of place. The stuff is so much lighter than the bags of sand it replaces. Now we're planning on doing our patio with these panels. So much better than the old fashioned, back breaking method.

Easy to use. Time saver. Note: these are 20", ones sold individually in store are 24". Bricks must be of perfectly uniform thickness, can not tap into sand adjust.

Wrapped in weed barrier material, it also works great as a weed barrier and base from my gravel in the flower bed.

Make the job easy once you put the sand down, you can lay this over. The top keeps leveled for to put the pavers on great idea.

Excellent materials for my backyard project I can highly recommend.

That's funny.. because you need sand .. so it's doble expensive

It had been 15 years since I had built a patio so using the polypropylene panels seemed like a back-saver, as much less digging and working with sand would be needed than the old way of putting down paver base and leveling sand. However, I was not happy with the result and ultimately did the patio job the old-fashioned way with lots of sand. My problem was two-fold. Although the panels seemed to be level, when I put pavers on them the levelness disappeared. The other problem was that the pavers felt slightly "squishy". I ended up removing the panels and putting the pavers on sand. Even though I was not satisfied with this product I am giving it two stars (instead of one) on the off chance that I used them incorrectly.
