Zero Quality Control at Bruce
Bought one box of March Oak and found that about half the boards have worm holes through them. These boards should have never been processed, let alone filled with wood filler and sold to consumers. Pretty unacceptable. Half of this box is unusable wood which means $50 of mine get washed down the drain.

Highly recommend. Excellent quality ! Very easy to install and it included instructions for installation. The finish is beautiful and doesn’t require any extra attention before use. Square up. Cut , layout, nail, & done ?

Disappointing product due to poor manufacturing
This was our first time to use pre-finished hardwood flooring. We have always used unfinished flooring in the past. Numerous milling problems. Burn marks, waves in boards due to skips in planing process, missing tongues, cupped boards, end cuts not square, widths varying from 4 13/16”-5 1/16”, large majority of boards under 12”. We had to measure the widths and make piles of each width. It took us three three day weekends to install 560 sq ft and we are experienced!

I want to say at the beginning of this review...
I want to say at the beginning of this review the people at the Home Depot were outstanding and I would give them 5 stars. The Bruce floor on the other hand is the reason of the poor review. 30% of the product had defect due to burn marks from the manufacturing process. I have contacted Bruce and there is no resolve to my issue.

Lovely floor but Bruce needs better quality inspections.
We installed this wood in our upstairs bedrooms and hallway. It's a beautiful floor with lovely natural color variations and it comes in different lengths. I am thoroughly pleased with it. There were some pieces that were missing tongues so we used those at the end where they weren't needed. Also there were some pieces where the finish was very rough so we discarded those. You would think their quality inspector would have pulled those out but maybe they're working too quickly. Overall, though, I am quite pleased with how our floor looks and we didn't have much waste.

Bruce Hardwood
Milling on this is subpar. Tongues on many missing or partial. Some grooves were shallow. More short pieces than long.Many just 12”. Quality medium at best. I would have a hard time purchasing from Bruce again.

Worst Flooring Ever
The quality of this product is abysmal. Waste out of the box ran over 20%. Had to order an additional four boxes to complete the job. After installation boards began to shrink and warp.
Doors now rub on the floooring and the floor speaks and pops everywhere.
No help from Bruce or Home Depot. An independent inspector came to the house submitted a report. Six weeks passed and were never notified that Bruce and Home Depot agreed there was nothing wrong with the flooring.

Quality Control!
The good pieces of wood are great. Quality Control sucks on these cases though. Many pieces from the boxes have burn marks, are to thin and leave large gaps between pieces or they are just junky looking pieces with filler in them. The square footage per box may be what they give you, but you won't be using all of it.
When you lay all the nice pieces and toss out the bad ones your floors will be awesome. It's just not the best when you are trashing brand new pieces right out of the box.

Plank width inconsistencies
Although beautiful, the variances in plank width created an install nightmare. Planks varied from 4 15/16 to 5 1/16 which doesn’t seem like much but is amplified in every row beyond.

Thought bruce was better than this
Lots of bad wood,if you dont pay attention when installing it,u can have a mess,also had to take a black permanent marker for the sides cause stain didnt come down along the sides

No quality control on this product
A couple of things to know about the Plano Natural Hickory 3/4 in. Thick x 5 in. Wide flooring:
* Random lengths = a majority of the boards are less than 12"
* You maybe get 2 boards per box that are longer than 30"
* The widths vary by 1/8" on about 30% of the boards making a tight fit impossible unless you hand plane
* Add 100% labor estimate on the installation due to the varying widths or be ok with gaps
Overall this is a disappointing product due to poor manufacturing.

Great product!
My third project with this product. Installs easily (rent a floor nailer), holds up very well. Almost no waste in the box. Does cover about 22 square feet. I’ll use it again. Can be sanded and refinished.
This wood, plus my free labor, cost less than carpeting.

Different product, very disappoint!
I bought 8 cases with 5 in wide and received it about 10 days ago. I didn't find the product is different from the pictures on the product page until I opened the box to see it and prepare the installation today. The reverse side has only 2 grooves. It should have 5 grooves which is better and easily get a flat floor. 2-groove floors, of course, is easier to make and spend less labor and should be cheaper than 5-groove floor. Very disappoint and not honest supplier!!

Plano good blend with Butterscotch
Bruce Butterscotch was in stock, but Plano Marsh blends in well. I only needed 5 pieces for the first row. But I will make good use of the remaining 20 pieces or so.

Solid Hardwood
By this stage in my life I've likely installed 4 houses-worth - many thousands of square feet - of flooring as a homeowner. Some are easier to install, some are more difficult; but at the end of the day you just can't beat hardwood oak flooring for longevity and dependability. The pre-finished Bruce Plano planks come in somewhat-random lengths in the carton, so you'll want to open several cartons at a time and mix-and-match. The tongue-and-groove cuts are very precise, making installation simple (especially with a pneumatic hammer). They are a full 3/4" in thickness, and can eventually be refinished if required.To me, this is furniture-grade finished wood.

Terrible product
Our installer was shocked at the quality of these floors. You may save a few bucks over Select but the floor is full of mis-cuts, 25-30% have major knots and color variations. In the end, I would say 20-25%% went to waste. I cannot believe they would sell a substandard product like this.

Beautiful
I was looking to change the look of my old tile view and found this gorgeous and beautiful real wood planks on various lengths. The system that this wood flooring use is the tongue and groove system, it’s really easy to do just a few tools required for a complete installation to make cuts where needed. Like all real natural wood it’s really beautiful to see all kinds of wood features like knots, streaks, and imperfections that makes it unique. The color finished is perfect blend for the kitchen cabinets. Each box covers about 18 sq. ft. and has a very competitive price range for a real wood flooring.

This is a warm, solid wood floor for the ages
So glad I chose this solid hardwood flooring. There is just a warmth that comes from real wood that engineered wood or laminate can't match. While those other wood look-a-likes are scratch and wear resistant, solid wood has character and tells a story about the home where it is installed. That story is more easily updated since it can be sanded and refinished multiple times through decades of use. For flooring that adds charm and warmth to your home, solid hardwood is hard to beat.

Nice board size, light colored, old style solid Oak flooring
This Taupe flooring is an excellent dust hiding color! Being lighter than many floor colors, it brightens the room you install it in. Being somewhat a traditionalist, I like the 3/4" thick solid Oak tongue and groove flooring that can be sanded and refinished for decades. Unless you seal this well after install, expect scratches and wear. The color does not penetrate very deep and it is easily scratched through. It just gives that old world charm of a warm, solid wood floor!
