I had to wait quite a while to get these I think because they were on sale. But when they arrived I was able to plant my strawberries in them and the strawberry plants are doing great. I like the automatic watering system that's built in, especially in our Houston Texas Heat. I'm trying one with the top and one without.

The planter came with excellent instructions. So easy to set up. Tomato plants are already growing nicely. And I definitely chose the right color. Perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I have Bush and Roma tomatoes growing wonderfully (they are still green), along with flowers on my peppers and cucumbers. And all that is in only one planter. I love the fact that I don't have to manually water all the time. In Arizona things dry out fast, these planters hold enough water to ensure that the plants thrive and do not dry out.

I love my red City Pickers garden bed. I have wanted one for awhile so when they came up as the daily deal with free shipping I had to have one. I had only seen the dark green at the store so the choice of colors was a big surprise.

I have purchased 17 City Pickers and have never been disappointed with my harvest. I have grown every type of vegetable and some sugar baby watermelons in them. You need to use the right medium in these type of planters, a POTTING mix or make your own which is cheaper and more cost effective. a great blend is 80% Organic Peat moss 15% Perlite and 5% Vermiculite. Then mix in your Dolomite Lime (Pulverized works best) and add your fertilizer following instructions. The plastic covers everyone hates are better to use than the new Weed cloth tie covers that come with them now. The reason you want plastic is to keep the rain out of your boxes. These containers are designed to regulate water to your plants. If it rains heavy for several days your plants roots will rot and kill your veggies, You want your medium kept moist not soaked. I Buy large roll of HDX mulching plastic cut 2 inches wider on all sides and then i place the weed fabric cover them to hold plastic in place all season (Problem solved with those elastic bands breaking in the sun) then I cut through both layers with box cutter and fold corners under. If you new to the City Pickers, I would suggest only buying up to 3 per year to cut cost as every 5 years your medium will need to be replaced which would pinch the gardening wallet. this way you stagger your costs. I also have Earth box Root planters for my carrots and parsnips since the soil level in these planters wont allow for Nantes Carrots length. I love both City Pickers and my Earth Boxes but These are cheaper when on sale at $19.99 in season so City pickers wins my vote. My oldest boxes (5 years) still look like my new ones So I expect to have for may more years.

I purchased my City Pickers in Nov 2018 so I could plant various flower bulbs. It worked beautifully! The crocus, muscari and hydrangeas are already blooming and the tulips and narcissus are sprouting up. I used a "lasagna planting" method that I had read about & it was a successful experiment. It was so much easier than planting them in the ground! I'm definitely going to purchase more City Pickers!

I have a big patio and these are perfect for growing vegetables in this space. I have six now and some over three years and the casters are still holding up which was a surprise. So easy to move around when needed. The watering system is good but, last year I had concerns when So Cal residents had to deal with an outbreak of a new type of ankle biting mosquitos. I felt that the water reservoir was providing an ideal breeding ground and resorting using some weed cloth to close off the watering pipe and earthquake putty to block off the side draining holes. This next summer, I may eliminate the tray that holds the soil above the water reservoir and just fill up the whole thing with potting mix. Had the best luck growing two sweet 100 Tomato plants in one container. It product handfuls of tomatoes throughout the last two summers. Not as much luck growing an heirloom tomato by itself. The plant got over six feet tall but, the tomatoes were small and only got about a dozen. Will try a Patio tomato next year. I had success growing eggplant, bok choi, swiss chard, and bush cucumbers using these containers. Not such luck with zucchini though. Even with trying a container variety, only got about three zucchinis all summer. The plants got huge were sprawling everywhere but, not that many fruits. Now it could have been a problem with not enough pollination so can't say for sure what the exact issue was.

I have used a similar design Raised Garden Bed Grow Box from another company with many years of service. The construction of the City Pickers' system appears sturdy and good quality materials used. I have two boxes currently in use growing tomatoes and if the last a few seasons, they're a great value.

Bought 3 City Pickers...easy to put together...have wheeled around to different locations over the weeks to find best location...each Picker tends to take different amounts of water, depending on size of the plants in each one...at this point, about 2 - 3 gallons each daily...live in southern NM and have had some record heat days already in May...learning this year which veggies/herbs to plant with each other based on size...this was the first year so still learning! Cannot say anything negative about City Pickers...the best price at The Home Depot (also bought all the seedlings at HD)... may add more Pickers next spring!

I have three of these and bought another this year. Plants grow very well in them and the watering feature ensures they are always watered. Also, I can roll them into the garage at night to avoid critters eating the plants overnight. Very pleased with this planter!

Used it to make grass cat beds for my city cats; they love it! I moved to the city and my cats no longer have access to a yard. We have an all brick patio. I cut sod to size and made two grass cat beds. My cats graze and then snuggle in their grass cat beds for a nice nap on the patio. I love that I can easily move these around the patio as needed thanks to the casters. I didn’t like how the tube went into the base during assembly; I think City Pickers could have designed that better. No big deal: just pack potting mix around it until the tube will stand up straight on its own. But, I think CP could’ve made some sort of notch to keep it upright. Otherwise, easy to put it all together and my cats are very, very happy with their new loungers!

Tomato cages don’t support plants as the grow as shown in the ad picture. Also the topper for the plants to grow thru isn’t easy to use (my opinion). I prefer to use 3-4” pvc pipe 2 inches high above the Root bundle of all plants in the grow box to avoid cut worm destroying the plants. My cage issues are addressed by having built a 2” x 4” wood trellis above 3 grow boxes, and suspending the cages.

I really liked the idea of this portable raised garden bed. However, the one I received has a few holes that leak the water from the bed, so the soil and the plants do not get enough water as it leaks out. I am very disappointed. If you buy this product, I would recommend you test it out prior to planting in it by filling the bottom with water and checking for leaks, which I wish I done.

We own 5 of these and love them so much we are purchasing 6 more. These come with full instructions, are easy to assemble, reduce watering time, and grow the most beautiful, healthy dwarf and container varieties of plants. We have large harvests from everything we grow and they are easy to store for the next season.

I have purchased 16 of these boxes for my greenhouse. This year I grew greens in it and during the summer I moved half of them outside. I am not pleased with the cover. The ones ordered came with giant rubber bands and they wore out fast in the greenhouse. I called the store that I bought them from and they sent me a different kind of cover. These covers were fabric style with drawstring. they stayed on but wore out fast. The tube did not stay in well. The reservoir was not stable, they soil went right through the plastic mesh. I am not satisfied with having a large quantity of these boxes. I also use the Earthbox brand, their boxes are sturdy and the city pickers are not great compared to these. I was able to grow plants and I found the instructions a bit vague. Good luck with using the product. hope you have more luck. I will use these in the greenhouse this winter again to give them another try. I will use different soil and take more time to set these up.

Very good product. I bought it in April. Planning to buy 2 more for next year. Easy to assemble and my vegetable plants are doing good. Okras in one half and bell peppers in the other half. I have attached the pictures. Already harvested the veges. Very convenient as I can wheel it in the covered porch when it is too hot. My tomato plants in the ground are dying because of too much sun.

As a long time Earthbox user, I was attracted to the much lower price of City Pickers. I am very pleased with their ease of use (the casters are very flexible and easy to move around), and the high quality of the materials. In particular, the mulch cover is heavy, uses a drawstring to attach rather than an elastic, and is made of a permeable landscape fabric that lets rainwater enter the box. This saves so much water! As you can see by the picture, the plants are thriving and I look forward to a bountiful harvest.
