We are very happy with the new Classic Steel Garage Door

We really like our new Clopay garage doors. They look great and are a big improvement over our 35 year old garage doors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the original wood garage doors on our house for 39 years and they were showing some wear (see attached photo). We looked into painting and replacing sections of the door that showed some rot with wood, but found that it was difficult to match and pretty expensive. We looked into metal doors as an alternative and found that we could replace the doors, hardware, add insulation, windows, a finished interior and have little on-going maintenance . We thought that the incremental cost over repair of the wood doors was compelling. As a bonus, the standard almond color worked well with our color scheme (see attached). We upgraded the hardware and are pleased with the quieter operation.

Window inserts cracked after 1 year door was installed

Rate this door very high. It is well constructed, very good looking. R rating very good.

This was the worst experience ever. Ordered 3 insulated garage doors in July. Paid extra for 18.4 R-value. Installed September. Pouring rain water through every panel seam channel into the building and into the insulated panels, where it could freeze and expand and contract which would eventually ruin the panels. Reported to Home Depot first of October. Clopay refused to acknowledge claim until Nov. 28th. They refused a refund and forced us to have installer come out and look at product. Installer agreed it was defective and that spray foam in panels was expanded too far into channels, preventing channels from having a good seal. Clopay forced us to take a replacement product instead of a refund and then took months for management to approve and manufacture. All the while, rain, snow, and ice were coming into our building and the gap was so big between channels that all heat in building was lost. 2nd set finally installed first of February - 4 months after initial complaint. They were leaking too. We demanded refund. Clopay forced us to wait for a 3rd replacement, stating they would downgrade us to the 9 R-value for a better seal. 6 weeks later, Clopay management still had not approved the replacement so Home Depot had to get involved and demand the refund for us, which we finally got at the end of March. 2 weeks later we had another brand installed with no problems. Thousands and thousands of dollars in damages that Clopay promised to reimburse us for and now their legal department is claiming they are not responsible. Unethical and horrible. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Save yourself the headache and the damages and go with a different brand.

Clopay makes a great garage door!!! Very well insulated and looks awesome (on both sides)!!!. It's also very easy to clean (practically wiped off some of the marks left on the door by the installer with my fingers). I look forward to using it for many years to come.

I am so very, very pleased with my classic ultra grain cherry doors 18.4 R rating. They are so very very nice. Solid easy to clean

My new door is so quiet you cant even hear it open from inside the house like I used to be able with my old door and opener. The door is insulated which keeps my garage warmer and the room above it, and the windows are also double pane and insulated. It looks great and the finish is also appealing.

I have insulated Clopay doors installed on my house garage (3) and on my barn and equipment shed. They are a couple of different styles. They look good and are holding up well. The 3 oldest at the house are about 15 years old and the newest about a year at the rear of the barn,

We are really happy with the look of our new garage door. We added windows to the top and what a difference in curb appeal!! Very nice insulated door.

I had several choices but our new Clopay door was the best choice. I have yet to experience how much warmer the garage will be this Winter with an insulated door with a good overall seal around it. I'm sure it'll be much better than the old door! The floor at the opening is crowned slightly so the installer was good enough to add a larger bottom seal to close the gaps along the edges. I'm very happy with my choice!

Like adding an additional room to my house. The 2" insulation provides all the comfort necessary during all 4 seasons. As you can see by the photo I get the full afternoon sun so good insulation is a must. The additional Charleston window insert have brightened up the interior also. Door has the best R value available and with foam injected core it should also be more dent resistant! Overall It's a great door. Three things kept this door from getting 5 stars: (1) One panel had some dents/kinks in it. Fairly insignificant since it's only on one panel and, on the inside. Looks like a packaging band was over-tightened to cause issue. (2) I had to remove and re-install the steel reinforcing brackets on the ends of a few panels. They were not properly aligned and I was unable to install the hinges. (3) CAME WITH EXTENSION SPRIGS, NOT TORSION SPRINGS! This was not my fault for not catching it. A competitor was selling this exact door under another brand name for $30 more but, it also included an operator bracket. Competitor advertised ez-set torsion springs and an operator bracket. I didn't need the bracket so, I bought it from Home Depot. Home Depot's description didn't mention the springs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our new Clopay Classic 2-car garage door was installed in just a few hours. The Cherry woodgrain goes wonderful with our brick. The curb appeal on our home has definitely increased. The 18.4 R-value should keep our garage cooler in the hot Kansas summers and warmer in the cold winters.
