I bought 3 gallons of the Splashless Clorox Bleach because it was all they had at our local grocery store. I thought i was pretty stocked especially during this pandemic thinking my home would always be sanitized, but... NOPE!! I later found out that the splashless one does not disinfect. I am so disappointed, because it looks exactly like the regular Clorox bleach. It is so hard to find the regular bleach especially during this time.

I expect to trust that “Regular” Clorox bleach will disinfect and sanitize. I saw “Splash-less” and “regular bleach” on the label, and without a thought, assumed I was getting a disinfectant and sanitizer. You got me Clorox!! I suggest maybe changing the color of the bottle! Or a message that says “DOES NOT Kill 99.9% of germs!

While catching up on tons on laundry during this crisis, I love the splashless feature it saves my favorite pajamas from forever being ruined. I also love the fact it is non-chlorine because most items actually specify this on the label.

I have used Clorox for many years, and now to find in the tiny print on the back of the bottle - especially during Covid-19 - is outrageous

I have used Clorox for the 55 years I have been doing my own cleaning, I ams o disappointed that this Splashless Clorox does NOT Sanitize Especially because i just this bottle for the COVID VIRUS so I would not run out in the Crisis!! I WIll NEVER Buy this again!!!

Those of you blaming Clorox for not telling you that this product does not disinfect in large bold red letters are unbelievable. They advertise what it does. Just take your loss and move on and just in your washing machine as it is intended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never tried splash-less bleach before this. It lives up to its name. Poured very easily and didn’t splash! I wasn’t aware that splash-less bleach did not disinfect, but that wasn’t and issue. Just something I never knew.

I have been using this on my clothes for years. I use this for whites and Clorox 2 for colors. It’s sad that people are panic buying and now I can’t find any, anywhere for my laundry. Also sad people are leaving the product negative reviews. This is a GREAT product that works better on my whites and I prefer it over chlorine bleach because it is more gentle. Don’t blame Clorox and bash this wonderful product because you didn’t read the label before panic buying a product people have loved and used for years.

This might not be the strongest bleach for disinfect or sanitize. However, the ingredient has sodium hypochlorite for disinfect. I always mix laundry detergent with Clorox splash less bleach for cleaning that way disinfect better.

Another reviewer wrote that you could use this product as a disinfectant if you doubled it (2/3 cup per gallon versus 1/3 cup per gallon for regular bleach). I just wanted to point out that this product also contains sodium hydroxide in addition to sodium hypochlorite. Sodium hydroxide is otherwise known as lye and is extremely corrosive. So, this would NOT be a good product to use for making homemade disinfectant wipes, unless you also plan on wearing rubber gloves when you use the wipes. Also, it does not work for disinfecting dishes because it will leave a soap (lye) film on the dishes.

Why does this not disinfect? Why is this deficiency not on the bottle more clearly? Why is the concentration of hypochlorite not provided on the bottle? People are unwittingly using this thinking it will sanitize surfaces in a pandemic, as I was, before I saw the SMALL print on the back of the bottle.

Never knew I could buy Clorox beach that did not disinfect. Rude awakening while trying to keep s a fe from covid19 . Make this MORE OBVIOUS pls. It could save lives!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item about a month ago and I like that the consistency was so thick and didn't splash everywhere. With small kids, I don't want to have to worry about it slashing somewhere and have me miss it on clean up. Great job Clorox!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The CDC recommends a 0.12% sodium hypochlorite (main ingredient in bleach) solution to disinfect. This can be achieved by mixing 1/3 cup normal bleach (2-10% sodium hypochlorite) with 1 gallon water. Clorox Splashless bleach is 1-5% sodium hypochlorite, so if you double the amount of the splashless bleach (2/3 cup per gallon water), you will create the same disinfecting ability. Splashless bleach is not registered as a disinfectant with EPA because it was developed for a different purpose - laundry. So, Clorox can't market it as a disinfectant. That doesn't mean it doesn't disinfect (read instructions above). Read your labels and do your research. Thank you for all you do Clorox!

Greatly disappointed that for at least two years readers have pointed out in a multitude of reviews that they want a disinfectant, but have ended up with this non-disinfectant. Yet your labeling has not changed to point out that this is not "Clorox Bleach" that we have known for many years. Fix the name, to something like "Laundry Whitener" and make it larger so people can easily see what is in this bottle. Exactly what is the product name - even that is hard to identify. Apparently it is "Clorox, Scented, Splashless Bleach" (with "Bleach" in tiny letters, but it's there). But this is not "Clorox Bleach" as we've known it. I don't stop and read all the labels of all the products I buy - as one person said we should do - and obviously many other people do not either. Also, be careful. This product is just thick enough that it creates tiny little streamers after you pour it that will stretch several inches or more across what ever is below and then fall onto these surfaces once broken. If pouring into a measuring cup the streamer will lay down on the edge of the cup and stretch to the lip of the Clorox bottle as you pull it away and then fall. It is so thin its difficult to notice.

Many like myself trusted the Clorox brand, as and now find their Splashless bleach is NOT for disinfecting. My biggest question is...WHY? Why can't you make the splashless to BE a disinfectant?

Clorox is a brand name that is synonymous with disinfecting - it's a name I have trusted forever. What a disappointment to find out at this critical time that my 'splashless' bleach does nothing for me that I needed. You should have this product under a different brand name to deter this negative consumer reaction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have you ever ruined a shirt or pants with bleach? I have! This splashless bleach makes you less likely to spill or splash. I prefer it over regular bleach any day! It’s easy to poor and doesn’t drip either.

I suspect that Splash-Less Bleach is cheaper to make than regular beach and you figured that most people would not notice the difference and think because it smells like regular bleach that we would assume it would disinfect surfaces the same as regular bleach. Well congratulations, you fooled me. For the past two weeks I have been scrubbing my house with this product to protect my 87 year old mother from COVID19 in case another family member brought it into the house. Learning that my Clorox bleach doesn't disinfect is over the top.

In light of the current covid -19 situation, regular Clorox disinfecting bleach is just about impossible for anyone to find. Many people have commented about the laundry bleach and have gotten the apology that "you bought the wrong product" response. As frustrating as this situation is there isnt much we can do about it. ( although I do agree that it should be labeled more clearly in the future) I understand that some products can not be labeled as a disinfectant and are not registered with the EPA as such. We are in a global pandemic and people are trying to do the best they can to keep their homes as clean as possible. I am a healthcare worker so please allow me to make a comparison that I hope everyone will understand. N95 masks are recommended by the CDC but due to shortages, surgical masks are reccomended when n95s are no longer available and then lastly homemade masks if surgical masks are unavailable. For those of us who can not get the disinfecting bleach or other disinfecting products can you please advise alternative instructions on mixing and use for the splashless or other bleaches to provide the next best possible layer of protection with perhaps estimates of how effective at killing germs it is. Just like the CDC has given the next best mask instructions... we may not be able to achieve the 99.9% claim of the EPA registered products but please inform us of what we can do with what we have.

I quickly put it to good use and appreciated the splash less formula. It was amazing for my laundry, perfect for cleaning my floors and fantastic for disinfecting items. This was so nice to not have to worry about slashing up on my clothes I was wearing and most happy, with if I poured it and rubbed it with a cloth it didn't spread quickly all over. It more less went rite along with my cloth and stayed were I wanted it to. Most of all the smell is clean and it brightens my clothes so well.

This product is great for what it is intended for. Sorry to all you people who just saw the word "bleach" and panic bought it. It really does bleach and whiten your whites, but maybe next time actually read the label. It does not claim to disinfect and sanitize. It claims to clean/whiten laundry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Regular Splash-Less is slightly thicker than the disinfecting and sanitizing Clorox. Great to whiten, brighten and deodorize laundry, cleaning and deodorizing bathrooms. This is not for disinfecting and sanitizing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this item is great in the fact that it doesn’t splash like other bleach bottles. Just beware that this isn’t like regular bleach. This causes suds but ultimately did a nice job cleaning my whites.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this when washing out whites at home, especially my kid’s. Love how all of our cloths still look bright and white. This is a must have for weekly laundry. it is super concentrated so a little bit goes a long way.
