I'm on my 8th ClosetMaid cube storage organizer. My purchases included two 9 cube espresso sets for two bedrooms (purchased three years ago), two 9 cube white, two 6 cube white, one 3 cube white and one 2 cube white. The white cubes were purchased for my home office space. The assembly instructions indicate that a hammer and screw driver are the only tools required. However, I used a power screw driver along with the manual screw driver for faster and easier assembly. The two espresso color cube organizers are just as durable as the day I assembled them, which made ClosetMaid a trusted brand. Helpful Tip: Even if you are not assembling the day of purchase, I recommend inspecting all contents inside the box, just in case replacement parts will be needed. In all of the eight cube organizers I have, I only had to call ClosetMaid once and for 1 replacement part, which arrived via FedEx in 2 days! Lastly, take your time assembling and you wont be disappointed with the end result. (my photos include all of my white cube purchases)

Assembly Required but not difficult
I am not a 'handy' person, so it took me about 45 minutes to assemble but instructions were clear and simple. Just need to have a Phillips screwdriver and hammer. I like this cube organizer against our pink-painted wall so the color can show through. White finish would have been nice though instead of black. Nonetheless, this piece is very useful and economical! It is quite sturdy as well.

Looks good.
This is a basic shelf, made of particle board with cardboard backing. Assembly was fairly easy. It comes with wood pins to use if you are stacking a couple of these so they are tied together. I included some pictures of my assembly to give an idea of what is involved. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and about a half an hour to put it together.

Easy assembly; looks great.
The ClosetMaid 3-Cube Organizer is easy to assemble, comes with all the parts needed, and is a high-quality self-assembly furniture item.
The instructions are good, and you can assemble it as a stand-alone piece, or buy a second unit, and you can stack them. Just follow the different instructions for stack assembly. Yes, the holes are pre-drilled, and in the right place! All you need is a screwdriver and hammer.
Once assembled, just put in place. It is meant to sit vertically but you can place it horizontally. Just note that there are only 2 end hole plugs for one end (top). I wish it had 4 hole plugs.
While you can stack them vertically, you cannot stack them horizontally (on its side).
Note that the center cube does not have a back panel. This allows you to place electronics with cords on that section. It also allows you to see your wall as a type of accent to help the furniture piece blend into the room.

Impressive
Came well packaged and protected. Assembly required. Very easy simple straightforward assembly. All you need is a hammer and Philips screwdriver. Very well made and very sturdy. All parts were properly aligned and margins were even and accurate. No cross threading noted. All parts for assembly and directions included. Wall bracket included for wall mounting or can be used standing on the floor. I recommend attaching it to a stud behind a wall for wall mounting because of the weight.

Lightweight, Stackable, Easy to assemble and customize
The unit is easy to assemble; it's lightweight enough to transport to the ideal location but heavy enough to support items without feeling flimsy and toppling over. I like that this unit can be customized with like units when stacked either vertically or horizontally; in addition, a wall support is provided and recommended before using the organizer.
I opted to use mine to fill the void between the vanity and the bathtub. I also chose to leave the back panels off because I wanted the tile surround to show through; I didn't feel the integrity or support of the organizer was compromised since I left the back panels off - it's still sturdy and wobble-free.

Perfect for just about any room
Recently moved and was looking to add some storage for my extra bedroom. Wasn't looking to break the bank nor go for the cheapest looking shelving unit either. This unit is both inexpensive and well built and fits in almost any room. It's laminated particle board however it seems pretty sturdy. The piece I got had a couple chips/dings in it however, having put together lots of pieces like this, not really surprised. Not a big thing since they are relatively small.
Assembly took about 10 minutes. Just screw in a bunch of screws and hammer in the paper backing (if you want) and that's it. As the description mentioned, it does fit the canvas storage bins too if you wanted to use those. This is mainly going to be a nightstand type piece so I won't be using any of the storage bins.
Overall, this will fit nicely into any dorm room, apartment, condo, etc so no issues with it sticking out, decor wise. It's not cheap nor is it overly expensive so it's right in that sweet spot of being both economical and functional/attractive.
