Get the updated version and there great.
I installed 10 of these on a Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH dimmer and they made a loud humm or buzz. Then read other reviews with the same complaint, saying you have to use the Lutron DVELV-300PH-WH which is $74.99! After lots more research I found they redesigned these lights and fixed the problem. I replaced all 10 lights with the new style and the buzz went away still using the cheaper dimmer. The new style is the one on the left in both pics. Hope this helps some others.

Great product with a noise?
If this light is hooked to a regular dimmer you will get a noise or hum of the electronics when dimming. That is not normal and it is corrected with the use of a low voltage electronic dimmer. They do run about $60 for the dimmer but well worth it.

Love them - basement project - 40 lights - several dimmers - NO HUM
Last year I finished my basement myself and when it came to lighting I went back and forth between installing traditional cans or simply putting in 4" junction boxes and using the T67 lights. I purchased a few of the lights to check for brightness and color - I purchased trial dimmers to verify that there was no hum as several reviewers claimed. Unlike others I actually followed the instructions about getting an ELV dimmer.. In the end I ended up wiring my entire basement project with these disk lights. All in all I have 8 circuits across a variety of rooms/zones with 9, 6, 8, 6, 2, 2, 3 and 4 of these on dimmer switches. I am using the Skylark Contour CTELV-303PR-WH dimmer switch in 5 of the zones. The lights are instant on - no lag at all - the brightness is great - much better than the normal 65 watt cans I have. The light warm and very easy on the eyes - it is very hard for me to tell the difference between the normal 65 watt bulb in terms of color - yet the brightness is better. I have repeatedly read about the hum - but when reading it was clear that you have to use a very specific type of dimmer like the one I described above. If you don't you will get a hum - if you do get the right dimmer switch type - there is ABSOLUTELY NO HUM IF YOU GET THE RIGHT DIMMER SWITCHES. I have put my ear right next to the units with and without dimmers - there is nothing audible either at full power or dimmed. The proper dimmer switch is more expensive - but so are these lights - you are buying them to never have to touch them for 15+ years. Unlike traditional bulbs - the dimmer does not let you go from 1%-100% range. Generally you get about 40% brightness to 100%. Certainly enough to set a change in mood - but not candlelit. Overall I am happy with the range on dimming that they have. Installation - I was installing them directly into the 4" junction box. They are designed to be a tight fit. The hardware is pretty easy - they actually come with a dongle that you can hook into your wiring first and then pug the light in - so you can get the real electrical work done without the light. To install you need to pop off the plastic lens to, slide the light up into the junction box, and install 2 screws. Depending on how flush your junction box is to the drywall the screws they provide may not be long enough. In about 20% of the lights I installed the box was inset just a 1/8th of an inch too far for the screw to catch properly. I went to the hardware store and got a box of screws that were 1/4 inch longer and the problem was solved. Screw the baffle flush to the ceiling - pop on a couple white stickers so that the dark screw head covers do not show through the lens, pop the lens on and you are done. NOTE: The light seemingly gets brighter when you put on the lens as it diffuses the light out in more directions. I spent a lot of time deciding how to wire my basement because of these - and in the end the time saved by simply nailing up junction boxes vs installing cans was huge. Additionally the cost savings on not needing to buy cans, baffles, and lower watt LEDs helped offset the cost of the T67s. Now that my basement has been finished for 1/2 of year I can say I remain very pleased by my decision to go with this product. Simply put I love these lights and highly recommend them and wanted to offer this review as a counter to those complaining about the hum because they didn't do the research to know what type of switch they were supposed to use. I am likely going to be slowing retrofitting my existing recessed cans with these as I am tired of constantly replacing light bulbs.

Great Light for low wood panel ceiling
I remodeled the basement and used 26 of this lights. That's a lot of money up front. I staggered them every 6 feet or so. They work great. I did not use a dimmer. I like the low energy use. One of them quit after about a month of use. I tried to contact the manufacturer but they did not respond. I was able to get a replacement from H.D. I think this is the way to go in the future. Just a 4" can on the ceiling. I hope they get cheaper in the future.

Used with the "correct" dimmer, they are great!
I recently installed these in (2) rooms I just renovated in my home, like others I ran into the humming issue while using dimmers. I tried using all the suggested dimmers with no success, buying $180 in dimmers to try all the options at the local store. I settled on hours of research finally finding one suggestion through some review of the fixture. The model that does work with with this fixture without humming on any range of illumination level is the Lutron DVELV-300PH-WH ($74.99 a piece)Yikes. I know this model to work on currently (2) separate rooms with (4) lights a piece. With the exception of having to use a 75 dollar dimmer, hours of research, I am completely satisfied with these lights!

Needed as alternative to can lights, but not ready yet.
I am an installing contractor, disappointed that T91 lights were suddenly discontinued, to be replaced by T67. If the move were good for consumers, I would say so. I am disappointed with the 2700°K color temperature of the T67, finding it yellows my paint colors. I wish the choice had been 3000°K as in T91, or that CREE might have applied a mix of phosphors to give a more-full light spectrum. My strongest disappointment with the T67s I have tried, is in an irksome hum of the luminaire while powered through dimmers. I find the same hum with two dimmers I have tried so far, a Cooper Wiring Devices D106P, and a Home Depot store-recommended Lutron Maestro.

        Nice looking light
I purchased one of these to replace the 50 watt par20 halogen bulb above a shower and am delighted with the results. It uses 1/4 the electricity and produces nearly 20% more light (660 vs 550 lumens) with a nice, broad spread. Color of the light is nice and cool and renders the color of the tile in the shower nicely. Installed in an existing 5 inch can without issues - the package says that it will fit "many" 5 inch cans. I can't see it being a problem in any as the module is shallow and the retaining prongs are quite flexible. This one was a little trickier to install than other LED modules I've used as it has a ground wire that needs to be clipped to the can housing that the others didn't have. Just an extra step - not technically challenging. What is great about these is that they can be installed in a standard octagonal junction box - no need for a recessed can! Properly sealed, a J-box is a lot easier to insulate properly in an attic than a can. There is an included adapter plate for use with a square junction box as well. My install did not include a dimmer. There is another review here that mentions a hum when used with a dimmer and I've read the same elsewhere. Hopefully, the manufacturer can fix this as it is otherwise an excellent product.

Install 4" round boxes anywhere you want a light and install these, no messing with cans or "non ic" "ic" garbage, the light matches your standard inside hue unlike some LED which is a blue color these are perfect

Happy until one went out after a year
All was good until one went out after about a year and a half. Hopefully still covered under warranty. I think I would prefet installing cans with the new LED bulbs, easier and cheaper to replace

        Replacement Hall Lights
Really happy with these lights. They were super easy to install in my junction boxes. I was able to do 5 of them in about an hour. They're very bright, so you may want to consider a dimmer. I did.

          Excellent Profile and Lighting
I installed this LED Can Disk Light in our sunroom. It has a slim profile and looks like a recessed light. The lighting is bright and it looks great. It is costly, but worth it.

          Solid light
I installed 11 of these in our church parlor. The light color is very good, installation was easy. We put in a coffered ceiling tile which was pretty thin compared to drywall. I had to go with a 4" square box to get the space needed for the connections. In a drywall ceiling a normal 1.5" deep 4" round box should work just fine. My only challenge is dimming. I installed a Cooper Electric CFL/LED compatible dimmer switch and initially it worked fine. I didn't have any of the buzzing others have mentioned. However after a couple of hours with one, and several days with another of the same dimmer the lights started to strobe on anything short of full on. I replaced the second dimmer with a normal on/off switch. We'd really like to dim these lights is there a dimmer out there that doesn't buzz, doesn't strobe and costs less than $75 a piece?

          Excellent product!!
I installed three of these in my sister's living room. I used 4" blue plastic "old work" boxes. The lights fit perfectly into the boxes. The color of the projected light is perfect for lighting up corners. The box contains all of the required screws, wire nuts, etc. We are very pleased with these lights and would strongly recommend them.

Good choice if you don't have the depth necessary for recessed cans.
I was disappointed that these only dim to about 40%. I tried 6 different dimmer switches of various prices. ( no I didn't try the $100+ dimmers) These units have a hum to them regardless of switch used. These were installed without a dimmer originally and the hum was very faint. If your area is extremely quiet you might hear them. Maybe quality control is a problem. Where mine are installed it is not a problem. They are a great light to use if the depth is inadequate for installing recessed cans. I installed 5 in my kitchen to replace a 4 tube fluorescent fixture. Much better and uniform light. I started in my family room where I only had 2x6 construction with batt insulation. They worked great. I must have liked them, I have installed 15 of them overall.

          Proper Dimmer for LED
You can use any style dimmer you like as long as it is rated for LED. The packaging or info sheet will tell you what it is rated for. The wrong dimmers will still dim the lights however they may cause the lights to blink at low range or they may not function at all.

            BUZZING issues
The overall light works very well when operating without a dimmer. I have 4 of these installed by my contractor, and I found them to be a bit bright for my space so I asked him to put them on a dimmer. Once the dimmer was installed an annoying buzzing started to arise when dimmed. This is the issue with the T67 disk light. If you're planning to use this with a dimmer, be ready to live with annoying buzzing. I've tried the following dimmers all with noticable/annoying buzzing: Lutron DVELV-300PH-WH Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH Leviton Decora SureSlide 6674 The Lutron "ELV" electronic low voltage produces the least noticeable buzz, but it's still loud to my liking. One factor that might be different for my situation would be the fact that I have this dimmer controlling 4 of these T67 lights. Some previous posters having success with the ELV lutron dimmers might be running with less than 4 of these lights or they don't have great hearing because when 4 of these lights are on the dimmer, the buzzing is quite noticeable. I'm going to ask my contractor to change out the lights unless someone on here has a solution that I haven't tried yet.

              Recessed light conversion kit installation
I replaced eleven recessed lights with this kit. It took about 30 minutes without any tools to complete all eleven. 1. Remove the old bulb 2. Pull down the old flange and remove the spring clips from the bracket. 3. Move the old socket holder up a little for clearance. 4. Screw in the socket attachment. 5. Plug the new socket attachment into the new light. 6. Hook up the two spring clips. 6. Push the new fixture up flush against the ceiling. You are done in a few minutes without any tools. It couldn't be more simple.

                Much better than I expected
I was very reluctant in purchasing these lights. I was not sure about the quality and intensity of the light or the ease in installing them. I purchased one to test it out then put 9 in my sons kitchen remodel once I got a chance to check them out. I was very pleased on the ease of installation and the quality of the light. There is plenty of light intensity and the light is a nice bright white shade. It illuminates everything very well. I am now going to begin replacing my existing recessed lights with these or a similar style of light. Installation was very easy as well. I have installed them in both a retrofit recessed application and onto a round ceiling box. They were both a breeze to install. The recessed application was easiest/quickest. About the most difficult thing to do, during installation, is to remove and then install the lens cover. And that is not too hard to do (comes w/ a special lens removal tool, very simple). The only thing I'm not clear on is replacing the "bulb" if it burns out as there are no bulbs to replace. Just an LED tab. Not sure if the tabs are available and easily replaceable or what . . .

When the product isn't defective it works great
We initially bought 3 of these lights for a basement renovation. We liked the light because it was LED, inexpensive and looked nice. Our master electrician installed two of them, but the third was defective. We brought it back to Home Depot and got a new one. That one was also defective, both times having soldering connections broken upon taking out of the box. We went back and returned it again, finally receiving a light that works. I am very disappointed with the quality of the lights because out of 5 lights purchased, two of them were defective. The lights do give off a nice color and are very bright. Once we found lights that worked we were very happy with the final product. You are looking for an inexpensive light and you don't mind returning potential defective lights this is an average product.

Fits perfect in 4" Box, looks nice!
Electrician asked me to pick out a set of LED HiHats and he was planning to use Cans but was able to fit these in junction boxes which left a cleaner look in the attic. Instant on and great color. Used 2 for a 14 foot hallway and its perfect. One replaced a 2 bulb lighting fixture and fit in the existing box the other was put in an old work box, both look great. Used with a 2 way lighted switch as well and its fine. Had a 3rd installed above the tub and linked to the exhaust fan, no dimming or problems noticed by sharing the switch for the exhaust fan. A little expensive overall but nice to have alot of options plus to save on electric.

                Great lights
Put in several of these. Pretty easy to install, but can require a little tweaking of the box (I just replaced the existing box with a new remodeling box for about $2). Light output is great. Recommend for closets, kitchens, hallways, and basements. Approved for wet environments and will put one in a shower this summer. NH give a $10 rebate, so $24 for the last light I'll have to install is a good deal to me.

                Stay Away
This review is for using with an existing ceiling light can. The hardware is either not long enough or the threads do not thread properly into plastic receptacle. The wire on the pigtail came out of the plastic plug. Had to return for a new one. If your ceiling light can is not flush with the ceiling then their hardware will not reach their plastic mounting bracket. Too painful. Going to try a different brand.

                Need special switch to dim...
We installed 3 of these lights above our fireplace in the family room. As soon as our electrician turned on the lights for the first time, we noticed a loud buzzing/humming coming from all three lights. After multiple trips to HD and Lowes for 7 different types of LED switches, we were so frustrated and were about to take them out and return them when I read the reviews here about the special low voltage switch. No store carried it, so I ordered from Amazon. The switch came in 3 days, and NO MORE BUZZING! Thank you for those who wrote the previous reviews. We also have notified HD to tell customers they need to purchase the special switch. Note- do yourself a favor and buy an extra light since I have heard these might not be around due to the confusion and expense of installing them.

                  perfect conversion for halogen chandelier
The shallow mounting depth made this a perfect upgrade to my modern glass/steel chandelier. I removed the 150 watt halogen bulb & socket and the LED unit fit perfectly inside the chandelier housing. Virtually the same light output and dispersion and only 12.5 watts. I'll use these for conversion of several other ceiling lights in the house.

very attractive - a lot of thought put into the mounting options included by the manufacturer
I set up my entire basement with these lights and I am very pleased with the finished result. The almost flush mount is pleasing to the eye. The amount of light given off is more than adequate and the slim design allowed me to increase my ceiling height by almost 6 inches. Although they are not particularly cheap - I see the value in the end result and the overall power savings

                  Product has problems
The LED disk light has a somewhat loud buzz. The range over which the light can be dimmed is small - the lowest setting is fairly bright and the highest setting is not very bright. The T67 trim was selected because the recessed can did not support torsion springs.
