There is not much demand for Redwood here. As such, the selection is low and the quality poor. It worked for my job, but I had to dig through the entire pile for a few sticks.

Really nice lumber. Easy to work with. Built garden beds out of it!

Pretty much what you expect from dimensional lumber - clean and consistent with grade. I used them as part of outdoor project building raised garden beds. The 4x4s were used as the corner posts.

I was able to find two posts that were straight and not significantly blemished.

Using this as the center posts for a pair of dragon fruit trellises. Works fine for this purpose, will use it again.

It was damaged with purple paint. Sign said 85% off, but when it rang up 70% the employee asked someone higher and apparently only brown treat is 85% off.

The quality of the lumber is terrible these days. And it’s expensive like everything else.

The construction common redwood is perfect for my use. I used my bandsaw to resaw some of the 2x and 4x to 1x for seat back and seat slats for some Adirondack chairs I’m building. The wood is green, so I’ve had to let it dry out, but I’m ok with that to save significant cost. Align your expectations and you’ll be very satisfied.

Best feature is the wood is dry and stable with few knots and none very large. Good quality.

We lost 3 fence posts with this year's winter storms. Even though I had to dig through the lumber pile of posts to find straight ones, I eventually did find 3 straight posts!

I bought this one for my patio post and match with Toja Grid 4x4, however when I bought in store, 50% of the stock sometimes damaged or cracked. Choose the one that has more red alias the heavy things, coz the heavy thing is stronger and last longer probably 5-10 years and choose no cracked. Don't buy if store only left than 10 pcs quantity. It usually all damaged or cracked. I bought this one to replace pressure treated lumber that bend after a year used. Pressure treated lumber is not good for post or patio or decking, the lumber easy to bend if against weather or wind.

I went to the nearest Home Depot rather than the lumber yard I normally use in hopes of finding one 4x4. HD is about five minutes away and Ganahl is 15 or 20 minutes. I looked at about 40 boards before finding one that was acceptable. Most had knots, were not straight, had dark stains or footprints, or were not as strong as I wanted. After spending 20 or more minutes going through the pile, I settled one that was not ideal; but, I hope will do the job. Sometimes I find good straight and strong wood at HD and other times, not so much. I had the same experience with 1x6x72 inch redwood fence slats. Lots of boards; but, had to look through a large pile to find what I needed. Straightening the fourteen boards took me at least an hour with a plane and table saw. Again, the driving time saved was much less than the overall time to have what I needed and wanted.
