For a simple device that is very very reasonably priced my only wish is that I knew about it years ago. The dramatic difference in the cuts on multiple Corona pruning devices after the sharpening was night and day.

I bought the sharpening tool not for its intended purpose but rather as a striker for my Ferrocerium fire striker, for this purpose it is top notch!

The Corona 5 inch Carbide Sharpening tool was a very quick and easy tool to sharpen all of my hand pruning tools.

Haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will do the job on sharpening.

The product design appears to be ergonomically practical, easy to carry, and storage friendly. The sharpening process also seems virtually foolproof. However, honing sharp-edges ain’t nowhere near as simple as a few swipes with a Tungsten Carbide Ingot or an Arkansas Stone, and because sharpening a blade of any kind is a skill that has eluded me for decades, along with my disappointing experiences with other carbide sharpeners—each failure contributing to a mountain of skepticism, it is way too early for an honest appraisal. Thus, the premature 3-Star, mediocre rating.

Fast and efficient weather buying in store or curbside pickup

I don't know how I lived most of my life without this thing. First I watched a lot of videos and educated myself on how to sharpen a variety of things (offset pruners being the hardest to master). I learned how to find the correct angles. Now I sharpen everything in the garage as well as the house and couldn't be more pleased. This thing is awesome.

I was ultimately saved in bulletproof blue ice situations at the mountain by carrying this tiny pocket sized gem. Washed out edge to turn on a dime master yoda cutting abilities with a couple fell swoops on each edge. It made the trip to the mountain completely enjoyable, being in superior control under the harshest conditions. Think about how many times have you hiked some chutes to discover some noob has side slipped the crevice entirely to straight ice. With this tool your ice waterfall decent will be a confident one minimizing butt check and tailbone shattering impacts.

Now that I am doing all of my own yard maintenance, I have been resurrecting my yard maintenance tools. Over the Holidays, I inspected & determined my primary yard work tools needed some much needed tender loving care. After a bit of research, I decided to clean & sharpen my hand bypass pruner, grass shears & loppers. The Corona carbide tool sharpener impressed!! After one session and test run, I was quite impressed with the cutting efficiency I regained with my tools. Who knew an inexpensive item like this could bring my tools back to life. Needless to say, I am very happy with this purchase.
