[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit frustrated and disappointed when I found that the kit included two right (or left?) front bracket assemblies instead of one of each, however it is a simple thing to take one apart and reverse it since both assemblies are made of identical parts. There were a couple of places where nylock flange nuts are included but unusable (like at the Trip Spring Kit and the Blade Skid Shoe) where regular nuts need to be used. Once the thing was assembled on the tractor, the first few dismount/mounts required the used of a rubber mallet and a crowbar, but driving the thing around for awhile let things "work in" together and now, after the 6th or 8th "fast attach" it can be done by hand. Very pleased by that! It is easiest to attach the tie Rods before attempting the spring loaded attachment handles. Be sure to lube everything well. In use, yes, you can shove a bit of sand or gravel around pretty easily once you get the feel for blade height. Pushing 4 to 6 inches of semi-wet snow around works well once you figure out what you are doing. It seems it will handle much more than that but I haven't had the opportunity. Tire chains are a requirement!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven’t used it in snow yet, BUT….I found it easy enough to assemble. Some extra bolts, some bolts are mislabeled but general directions are clear. Best to lay out all parts with part diagram and then use instructions. I found using directions less and more common sense had me rolling faster, so use instructions more as visual reference. I am not very mechanically inclined so I found this simple enough. What is odd is a lot of bolts are threaded so they don’t secure tight, but that may be by design as there is a lot of abuse and rattling friction from moving snow.

Very hard to put together manual hard to understand. Had missing part but it took a little time to get a replacement. Nothing on you tube or on cub cadet web site.

Easy to install however I did have to remove mower deck due to also using chains and worried about them harming my deck.

I bought this to replace the basic plow attachment so I wouldn't have to keep getting out of the seat to change blade angle. I stallation was pretty straight forward and fast-attach works well. Unfortunately, like so many other reviewers, I've had tremendous difficulty with the function of the plow itself. The two biggest issues are: 1) the blade lift cable is too long or not engineered correctly. I actually had to drill additional holes in the bracket to to compensate for lack of adjustment. Even with that modification it's a fight every time I want to lower the blade. It typically works 1/2 tries at the beginning of the job, but after raising and lowering a few times the pin just doesn't want to release. I finally just removed the mechanism and have to hold the blade up manually. 2) flop spring is too loose and has limited adjustment. A little bit of wet snow or a compressed patch from someone driving on it, and the blade just flops. The slightest bit of resistance and it gives up. I don't know how anyone is possibly moving dirt or gravel with this thing.

Bought this about 2 months ago and of course it didn't snow! but this past week it did...it worked great!, Remember to have the suitecase weights on it, and the chains...big help. The only thing was the cable to lift the plow was not always working...might just need an adjustment, but worth it for me, since my driveway is big

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a quarter mile long driveway with 12% declivity in parts of it so, plowing by hand is absolutely not an option. I bought this with chains and one weight kit and so far, I am satisfied by how good it performs even though there are some things I wish this product had. Assembling was not an easy task at all, I am a healthy guy in his early 50's very capable with my hands and I struggled to assemble it. First, the manual is not very clear, some instructions are confusing, Cub Cadet should hire random people to try and use their assembling manuals before definitive printing (in IT, this is called the monkey test). Second, after assembling almost everything came the time to link the blade with the main mechanism but the main pin was missing, I had to order it by phone, no big deal but... that should never happen, missing one random screw is acceptable, missing the main assembling pin is not. 2 days later, I could complete the assembling and I wish there was a mean to connect the blade without lifting this beast, it is heavy, really!! The assembling was completed during summer time way ahead of winter and after some trials, I was satisfied with how it worked so I dismounted the blade waiting for the season to kick in. Fast forward to end of fall when I decided to be ready for the snow, I removed to deck (very important for the snow season, believe me), then, again, the instruction did not match entirely the XT1-LT42 but I got it, I mounted the blade and then... I could not move anything, the blade was stuck to center position. Back to square one. I troubleshooted the issue to be a reading error in the assembling manual where the plates attaching to the tractor had to be carefully installed as to permit proper engagement of the lateral pins, the ones that move the blade up and down, that should be better noted because after being used a bit, being removed then re-mounted, the pins did not aligned anymore. Now everything is aligned, lubricated and working properly. Operating the thing is pretty easy but I wish the arm had more curvature to reach more easily, I am 6'1 and I have to extend my arm quite a bit to reach the cable levers, so please, for a next iteration, give the arm a slight turn towards the seat. I already used it twice this year, once with 2 inches of "dry" snow, I could plow very easily up and down hill without chains but I had troubles the second time with 4 inches of "semi wet" snow. This is where I wish the length of the blade would be higher in diagonal than the total width of the tractor's wheels as on the first pushes with a lot of snow, the wheels get stuck in the mounts of snow when backing up and whether with chains or not, you do not move anymore. I had to shovel around the wheels several times to get started. Now with "wet" snow around 4 inches, you will no be able to push too much at a time until the blade or the wheels give up and forget about pushing uphill, not going to happen!! I had to spend twice the amount of time to push 4 inches than 2 just because the amount of snow would not fit in the blade, so you have to push 1/4 of the length of the blade at a time and always down hill. Other than everything mentioned above, I am very happy to have it to remove the snow in my very very long driveway.

The product came completely disassembled in a 1000 pieces.The company could have assembled the bigger parts; The instructions are poorly written. They give you instructions to use screw no. so and so found in the bag of parts numbered differently.

It wasn't the easiest to mount on our model but my husband did succeed. Of course there has been no need to try it out since we've had no snow. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!

It arrived shortly after ordering, which was surprising since it was December, when they probably get overwhelmed with orders. It was a little harder to install than I had anticipated. One of the mounting holes didn't line up without extra persuasion. The lift and angle controls aren't always easy to get to work exactly as expected. It takes a little man-handling to get them to operate at times. The spring that came with the unit was broken, but the company promptly sent me a replacement. Overall, I really like it, especially when I see how long it takes my neighbors to do their driveways with a shovel or snow blower!

Does not fit false advertisement

Bought this a month ago and found out I got 2 right side mounting brackets so customer service had to have a left side sent over. Then when I get it put together the left side won't actually slide into the fast attach part on the mower so the thing won't go on anyways. Seems like no single part was designed by the same person and the quality is awful. I rarely review anything but this is the only product I have ever hated so much I've given it a single star. I truly regret purchasing any cub cadet product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plow works pretty well so far. Used twice under 3” of snowfall. Only issue so far is adjusting plow angle. May have to make some adjustments to tensioner and arm itself as it doesn’t move smoothly.

Item was received with a wrong part. Received 2 left mounting brackets but need 1 right and 1 left. Called Customer Service but the part numbers listed in the manual that came with the item matched nothing in Cadet's system. Really? The agent tried to be helpful and thought she found the correct part number. Part was sent, took 11 days to arrive (supposed to be 3 to 5), and was the wrong part! Looking at the drawing on your website I can understand the confusion. I had to find the correct diagram on another parts site & I sent that information with the correct part number, photos etc to Cadet via e-mail. Zero response. Gave up on Cadet & purchased the required part from another parts supplier on my own. Annoying to receive the wrong part, but stuff happens & I can understand. That said, it is downright pathetic that you don't have accurate drawings for equipment you sell and I needed to go to a third party to resolve this problem.
