Game changer
Fixing up multiple 130+ year homes means there’s always something to do. And it always involves trim at some point or another. This nailer makes those tasks so much simpler since I don’t need to lug my compressor around. I haven’t experienced any jams, but it seems to have a simple and effective method for clearing. I’m actually looking forward to finishing trim now!

    Awesome!
I’ve been using this for a few months now and couldn’t be happier. I upgraded after using an air nailer for all my life. I will never go back to anything corded again. The adjustable settings on this drive a perfect nail every time. The only negatives I could see would be size and weight since it’s a little bigger than your average air nail gun size. If you’re on the fence… go buy one! It’s worth the money!

Im just glad Im not having to take out the air compressor out at all. Plus having $50 off helped deciding on getting this gun.

The best tool to go cordless! Great for baseboards
I’ve had this nailer for about a year and not having hoses and compressors was worth every Penny. The bump fire works well. I have never had a miss fire and the led lights are a nice bonus. The only complaint I have is the ramp up is a little slow and the unit is much heavier than air nailers but it’s worth it.

I have always wanted to buy a battery operated Brad Nailer. I have never used before buying this Dewalt brand Brad Nailer. Wow! This thing is awesome! Great for all kinds of projects. Easy to use and no lugging around a compressor and hose. Great product.

An excellent alternative to pneumatic nailers
I recently bought the DeWalt 20v 16g finish nailer and loved it so much that I had to have the 18g brad nailer. I typically have to do most of my home renovations and projects after my kids/wife go to sleep, and using these nailers without a loud, clunky compressor is a godsend. No hose to route or trip over, no oiling, no hassle. I cannot get enough of these cordless nailers. I recently used this brad nailer for some cabinet trim work shooting 3/4" nails and it worked like a champ. Despite its size, I was easily able to fire nails into tight locations. This is a great deal, too- the full kit is only $20 more expensive than the tool-only Milwaukee equivalent

Way better than lugging around a nailer, hose, and compressor... looking for an outlet and waiting for the compressor to charge making all the sweet sweet compressor noise. Would like for more components to be metal instead of plastic, but so far, wish I had purchased this sooner.

I've used this nailer for several small projects and haven't had any issues. It is a bit on the heavy side but that's the trade off for not having a compressor (I think it's worth it). I have several Dewalt 20v tools and they have all been pretty durable so I expect that this nailer will be the same. As a side note I would take negative tool reviews with a grain of salt. I read some negative reviews on this nailer before I purchased and after receiving and using it I think a lot of them were a result of user error.

          Worth every penny
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the new remodeling of my home I wanted to purchase a nailer tool that would make this DIY job that much easier for us. We decided to go with the best reliable Brand Dewalt and went ahead and purchased this DEWALT DCN680 18 Gauge Brad Nailer . Best decision ever made. This nailer is not that heavy in comparison to others. The cordless feature took the win for me making it so much easier moving around freely. The nailing is very accurate with no jamming. It is extremely easy to change the brat nails. I love the fact that I can use 5/8 nails and up to 2 1/8. It's easy to adjust the depth of the nail as it goes in. This makes it very useful and convenient for any project. I use my 20v 2.0 battery which lasts a very long time. Very powerful. The built in light is very helpful especially when you're working in a dark area. My overall opinion on this The DEWALT DCN680 18 Gauge Brad Nailer is that this is a great buy and I definitely recommend it.

No more dragging hoses, compressor noise or buying
Bought this for a large job a year ago, and totally glad I did. Saves a ton of time not dragging hoes and compressors everywhere, and saves a ton of money not buying gas refills. Battery all the way for me from here on out. In a year or regular use, I’ve had so few misfires, it hasn’t even registered on my radar. Just need to get the framing nailer and I’m all set!

I own a lot of dewalt tools, this is hands down one of my favorites. No hoses, compressor, or noise. I was worried about power loss once the battery drains. I have had zero issues, the 2ah battery lasted an entire day with no charging or loss of power. Highly recommend!

Don't cheap out and buy the Ryobi nailers. They don't have the power to sink the nails every time. This Dewalt, on the other hand, sinks every nail. Seems to be just as powerful as a traditional air nailer. Very satisfied.

Easy use. Quality product that is reliable. Not happy about the marking in the trim work after shooting the nail there is excess damage that could be engineered to not be there and just be a nail hole. Other than that it gets the job done.

              Nailing Simplicity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved my 18 V tools, but now that I am switching over everything to 20 V, I am in heaven with my expanding 20 V collection! As a regular Mr. fix it, I got tired of dragging out a compressor and hose for small jobs. This 20 V Brad nailer has become an important addition to my tool bag that travels everywhere with me. I’ve used it on everything from small trim and molding repairs to completely redoing molding in full renovations. Most recently my college age daughter learned to use it to put up molding in the house we are redoing and we see it to add character to some really plain doors. Ease of use without all the hassle of air lines is great!

I just finished installing new base board in the living and dining rooms. This nailer worked flawlessly no jambs, plenty of power and it did not even drop one bar on the battery for this install. I really like not having to drag an air hose behind me anymore.

Trying to get the correct XR battery that the box says comes with the nail gun is almost impossible. Other than that it is a great gun and highly recommend. DeWalt needs to put the batteries advertised with their products.

I recommend this product for interior use. What I found is that if your battery is running low nails will get stuck. The indentations that are made can be resolved by not pressing to hard on wood with gun. It does feel good but I can't tell you for exterior use. I only use it seldom on the outside. Just brick mould. It's a bit pricey.

This DeWalt nailer performs better than I expected. Has good long battery life and I have used several sized nails in it. For installing door trim and baseboard the cordless feature has been a great plus. Handles easy and rapid fire mode is perfect when crawling along the floor.

Exceding my expectations. I've used several other brands of battery powered nailers and had initially stayed away from this one because of the size. Compared to a pneumatic nailer it is very large. I ran across a DeWalt representative in a local store and he had one I could try out. After trying it out he also offered me a good deal if I bought the kit which I did. No regrets. Sinks long brads and sinks brads at an angle. Not a single jam yet but the nose piece has tool-less access and is very easy to open if needed. The part about the tool that made me decide to purchase it was the fact that it would sink brads at an angle and that it is very light feeling compared to any of the other battery powered nailers I've used (I've used almost all of them). It has very good balance in the hand and is in fact lighter weight. The large size of it for an 18ga nailer is kind of ridiculous looking but in function I haven't thought about it since I first used it. The convenience of having a reliable brad nailer that I can use without hose or compressor is very much worth it to me. It does have a larger nose piece compared to my narrow nosed Bostitch pneumatic but again, that is far outweighed by the compressor and hoseless convenience. I have not had any problems with it and it fully sinks all of the brads I've driven out of thousands, all different lengths and into various materials. I'm impressed. I have noticed that my motor suddenly started sounding like there's a few chunks of sand in it after a couple thousand nails but it still seems to function well as of several thousand later..... The 2.0ah batteries last me at least 3 hours of continuous use. I hope the motor noise isn't a sign of a problem. I'm not using this in a production shop setting doing repetitive assembly so I am not able to out pace any ramp up time. In single fire mode the motor has alway ramped up starting the moment the nose piece begins to depress and will fire by the time it is fully depressed for me. In bump mode, the motor starts the second you hold the trigger down and by the time you start bumping its ready. I haven't been able to bump fire fast enough for it to not work. I'm not sure if that's possible but it seems that some users have been concerned about ramp up time. I haven't had any problems. The placement of the lights works great for low light visibility. The motor is relatively quiet but it is loud enough to need hearing protection when shooting brads. I hope this is helpful.

I was excited to purchase the DCN680 as I’m upgrading from the DC680K; I am left disappointed by DeWalt as the newer model as it leaves indentations in the wood. Please refer to the image for details comparing the difference between the DC608K 18V 18Ga nailer, and the newer DCN680 20V Max 18Ga nailer. For stain-grade material, or maintaining productivity with paint-grade material, it is not acceptable for the nail gun to leave these indentations. Looking at the stock pictures on DeWalt’s website and what I’ve received, I believe the problem is with the “No mar tip” pad, which on my nailer, was a white plastic. The stock pictures, the no mar tip is black, which may suggest a different material was used. In any case, I spoke with the local DeWalt service center, where the service agent said that they are out of stock of replacement pads “for a few months.” Left with no other option to use this newer nailer, I’m returning it. I’ll wait a year to see if DeWalt makes any improvement to avoid this problem.
