This sander is awesome. I bought it a couple years ago, and have used it for so many projects, many of which involved using it for over an hour at a time. I've never had it overheat or stop on me. The pad grabs the discs very well, and is easy to change (I did have one set of discs that didn't seem to grab very well, but I blame the discs, since it was only one set that has ever caused a problem). I like that the cord is plenty thick, and especially beefy where it enters the tool (I have a bad habit of picking up/ setting down tools up by their cords). The weakest point in my opinion is the dust bag. The latching mechanism is a little cheap, it seems, and the fabric slipped off once ( I think it got stepped on, which tugged the fabric away from the plastic). I got that fixed though, and it worked nicely. The dust bag gathers quite a bit of sawdust, but a lot ends up in the air too. I feel like this is typical of any orbital sander, so I won't hold that against DeWalt in this case. Overall, I love this thing, and I'd like to buy another when it goes on sale, so I can sand with two different grits, without changing the pad.
