I never had/used a multi-tool before this week, when I had to open up the back of my kitchen cabinet wall under the sink. It was a tight area to work in, but my son suggested I get a multi-tool. Made cutting in that tight space a breeze! Thought back about all the projects this would have helped on, instead of using a jig saw or plunging a circular saw. I chose DeWalt because that's what all my tools are, and I have always been extremely happy with the quality & durability. Highly recommend!

I received this multi tool in an Atomic package deal. This is the only tool I choose not replace with a Milwaukee Fuel tool, because it does exactly what a multi tool should do & not compromising speed. My partner and I were installing lighting fixtures and had to trim out the acoustic fiberglass ceiling panels. His arms were tired after using his fat Makita, meanwhile I was good to go for more with this super light DeWalt Atomic.

Found plenty of these during the Black Friday sale. The online price was great for this combo and as always Home Depot offered free shipping. These 5.0Ah batteries provide a long work time for high-demand tools between re-charging. Great battery kit and I highly recommend.

I purchased this DeWalt combo with tool bag a few months ago as I needed a second charger and some spare batteries for my DeWalt vacuum cleaner and leaf blower. Having just one charger and set of batteries meant I was constantly running up and down the stairs from the basement/yard area to the garage/workspace area. These newer style XR batteries are far superior to the old DeWalt 18V batteries and are interchangeable with 200+ tools. PACKAGING/CONTENTS: Very basic, no frills. The canvas tool bag is quite handy for packing everything up and carrying them to and from a jobsite or you can just use the tool bag for other tools as it is easily moved around and tossed in the back of the truck. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: With this combo, you get (2) 5Ahr batteries - the DCB205's, one charger - the DCB115, and the canvas tool bag. MADE IN / ASSEMBLED IN: The batteries state that the cells are made in Malaysia, but the battery packs are assembled in the USA with global materials. The charger states that it is made in Thailand. QUALITY/TEST RESULTS: Outstanding, simply put. These XR batteries provide very respectable runtimes in my leaf blower, vacuum, and even in my task work light. They are well built and the fuel gauge is very handy for telling you how much power you have left. I continue to use them interchangeably between the various tools and plan to soon procure a DeWalt 20V weed eater and use them in that as well. The interchangeablity amongst tools is a real plus. Overall, this is the quality I have come to expect from DeWalt. As always, consumers with battery powered products wish the batteries lasted longer and charged faster. I think DeWalt has struck a fine balance between the two. There are so many options of Ahr's with the batteries, going up to at least 10Ahr now. Good luck!

This tool has been used in every room of our house. Whenever we need something to fit better like wood or tile flooring under a door frame or need to cut into a wall to add a socket or light fixture, we rely on this tool. BUT ... get a load of this ... we have worked so very hard removing all the layers of wallpaper off walls and it has been tedious until we tried using this multi tool. WOW! What a difference! It gets right under that very well made and durable 60's and 70's wallpaper and separates it from the drywall with ease. It doesn't even destroy the wallpaper, we can save large samples for posterity!

I had $150 worth of Home Depot gift cards from last Christmas and my birthday in May (my family knows what to get me). I held off using them until I figured out what I really wanted. I decided to spend them on this DeWalt oscillating tool as I will be helping my son renovate a 1930s house this fall/winter and I know sometimes there are oddball times when we'll need something like this. I liked that it was brushless, which should save on battery life and that you don't need a special tool to change blades. I already had 2 batteries for my DeWalt cordless drill, so I saved some money buying the tool only. It came with 2 blades, a bi-metal blade and an HSC blade (?) apparently good for wood. I wanted to repair the brick moulding trim on my garage door by cutting out the rotten area and cutting a new piece to fit instead of replacing the whole piece. So I cut out the bottom 10" with this oscillating tool without removing the trim on each side of the door (see photo). It cut right thru and it was nice to be able to control the speed with the trigger. It has a lot of power if you really squeeze the trigger! It was easy to control, too, and I got a nice clean even cut along my pencil line. The only neg I had was that the handle that you squeeze to change the blade is right where you want to hold onto the tool to make your cut. This might cause problems (broken blade maybe?) if you accidentally squeeze it too hard while you're cutting. I realized what I was doing and put my hand beneath the lever after that. Just something to be aware of. Maybe DeWalt could possibly come up with another way to keep the release out of the way when you're using the tool. All in all, though, despite its cost, I think I have added a good tool to my arsenal.

I use this oscillating tool for everything! It's light, doesn't use too much battery, and is easy to use. The only con is that you will wear through blades pretty quickly so buy extra. I love this tool though and am kicking myself for not getting one sooner.

I purchased these in Feb 2020 because i was tired of running out of battery life and I have no regretted it. These batteries are quick to charge and last much longer then the standard batteries I have use in the past. The bag makes storage clean and easy.The downside to these batteries is the price but you pay for what you get and when you want quality, you pay for dewalt. If you are using the small 2 amp hour batteries, pick up a set of these today and be more productive between chages.

Best thing since sliced bread! These oscillator tools are the bomb. I have this DeWalt and a Ryobi (had first in my collection) and they both perform well. The reason I bought the DeWalt, is because of the spring loaded, quick change lever for the blades. With the Ryobi version, I have to use an allen wrench to change blades, which, takes some time to do. With the DeWalt, pull the lever, remove the blade, insert another blade and then release the lever - as simple as that. Plus, the DeWalt is a little bit lighter than the Ryobi.

I use one at work every day could not be happier...liked it so much I purchased one for home as well!

Atomic 20 Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Oscillating Tool I found changing the blades on this 20 Volt Max Compact Series Atomic Oscillating Tool to be very simple and quick. With just a squeeze of the lever I was able to quickly insert a blade without any additional tools. It is so much easier than an older model that I have by a different manufacturer. I then used the oscillating tool to trim a Locust Tree log that I was making into a garden sign. The angle cut was originally cut using a chain saw which left a large bur that had to be trimmed off. The DeWalt tool cut through the Locust wood easily and was able to match the angle perfectly. The tool had plenty of power and being cordless made it very convenient. No need for an extension cord or outlet. (Bring the tool to the work piece instead of the work piece to the tool.) There is nothing about this tool that I did not like. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone looking for a high quality oscillating tool.

I am not familiar with the oscillating tools but have an idea how they work and have seen others use them. I carefully read the instructions for this one and they seemed clear, well written and well illustrated. There is a clever clamping mechanism to hold the bit, blade, accessory or.attachment you're using. I think this clamping mechanism is exclusive to DeWalt. I think on other oscillating tools the blade must be mounted on an arbor. This also includes a screw and clamping washer for use with blades from other companies. It is surprisingly light and the brushless motor minimizes the vibration transferred to your hand when using it. DeWalt is a quality brand used by the pros and you'll take pleasure using them as a hobbyist or DIYer. Because working on your own house feels good. Careful reading of the instructions might make one think a depth guide and cutting guide is included but some research revealed that quite a few other people also wondered why it is "missing". The answer is that it is not included when purchasing "tool-only". If you buy the kit with batteries, charger and case, I think it is included. Some more research shows if you want the depth and cutting guide there are three separate parts you can purchase, singly for about $30. If you want a depth gauge put a piece of tape on the blade at the depth you desire.

I love these types of tools I now have three of them. My first one was real cheap and my second one is a very nice one but it's corded. I like cordless tools. I am trying to as much cordless as possible. So I got this Dewalt it is really nice a friend of mine has one and I have used his many times and really liked it. So when I had the chance to get one I jumped on it. I don't have a battery or charger yet but on job sites there is always a dewalt battery I can use. has an led light. This rotary tool is a really nice quality. I have many Dewalt power tools and have never been disappointed in their performance and durability. I have used it for many things like facing off shims, trimming drywall and even cutting a small section of a 2x4 so I did not have to set up my table saw. The best feature by far is the variable speeds which helps when cutting variable thicknesses.
