I would have given this drill bit set 5 stars if I could get the last row (largest bits) out of the metal box without destroying the box.

Excellent drill bit set, with the Pilot points are a very nice feature

I have owned multiple sets of these Dewalt drill bits over the years and have found that the quality is just not good enough to justify purchasing them any longer. The case they come in is fantastic for throwing in a quick little toolbox or bag and taking to a smaller job site where you might only use them once or twice, but the bits are just not durable enough to use regularly. I have had several of these bits break, especially the pilot point tip. I do some light metalworking and when drilling through a smaller piece of square tube, the pilot point tip just snapped off when starting the hole. Without the pilot point tip, the entire bit is useless. This is the latest example of them failing to work under any sort of load. The smaller bits are great, but the larger ones are garbage and even in wood do a terrible job as the tearout is monstrous. Much better off going with a different brand. Disappointing quality coming from Dewalt on this. Their tools are great, but these bits are just a waste.

I have owned multiple sets of these over the years, some as gifts, and some were purchased out of necessity. I will never buy another one of these sets again. On multiple occasions I have had issues with the tips snapping off. I do both woodworking and metalworking and these are useless once the pilot point tip is gone. You are better off saving your money and buying another brand. I have include a picture showing how cleanly it broke off. Disappointing coming from a brand like Dewalt.

I received these as a gift and I was beyond excited. I was under the impression that these bits were fantastic and it was such a large set that I wouldn't have to scrounge around for the right size anymore. The case is nice and easy to find the correct size as well. I work with both wood and metal so these should fit the bill just fine. I used one of the bits to drill through some steel in my drill press so that I could run a bolt through the square tube legs I was making. I have done this many times in the past, and I am very familiar with using a drill press and the correct speeds, lubrication, etc. The tip of the bit snapped right off, rendering that bit useless. I was very disappointed. My set is no longer complete, and at this point I strictly use them for wood, which they do a great job of making a lot of tearout, so if the hole is something you might see, you are better off finding another bit. I will still use them, but only for the smaller bits. The larger bits are just plain garbage, so essentially, I have half a set at this point. I would save your money and find another brand.

Overall a good product. The bits tend to last fairly long as they are used in the materials they are intended for. If the price was 50 instead, i think it would be an excellent product for the price. Sturdy carrying case, although i would prefer if it had maybe a transparent plastic on the openings, because all sort of debris and critters can get inside while it is being stored in a workshop/machine shop/warehouse

Works fine, was building a watercolor easel, needed to punch some holes in 3" T Plates.

These drill bits work fine for making pilot holes for various tasks around the home. I ended up using the 1/8" bit when hanging blinds in the windows. I had a smaller bit break when trying to go through an "unknown" material that was behind the wall. In all however the bits work fine and do what they need.

Tried using the 5/32 and 9/64 to drill through some soft 1" angle iron. Both bits bent. did not break, but they bent to 60 deg angle. not much good after that. finally drilled hole with self taping screw......

The pilot point on these drills makes it much easier to set the drill bit in the precise location.

These Titanium drill bits work very well and seem to have competitive performance compared to Cobalt drill bits

These bits with pilot tips save time by drilling their own pilot hole. However you should have a sheath on the bit for drilling in thin sheet metal so that it will cut the hole instead of just ripping into the hole. The smaller bits do not have any advantage except that is nice to have all the sizes together in one case. It is nice, also, that the small sizes have a duplicate.

I've had this set for over a year and it's great for drilling wood, plastic and aluminium. If you want a drill set for steel, get cobalt drills, or carbide drills, they're far better than oxide or titanium coated drills like these. I've noticed that a lot of advertising for these drills says they're made of titanium, which is total rubbish. They are steel, and are coated with a very thin coat of titanium nitride, which wears out very quickly if you drill steel. I recently drilled a dozen holes in steel alloy, and the drill bits are now blunt, they won't cut any more ( and I've done engineering work for many years and know how to drill without destroying drill bits - slow RPM with cutting compound so they don't overheat). These are not premium or professional quality drill bits, but for home handyman stuff they work.

When used with the Dewalt DCD 996 20V MAX XR Cordless Brushless 3-Speed 1/2 inch Hammer Drill, these drill bits went smoothly and quickly through dense wood like a hot knife through butter!

The drill bits are OK the small ones are a little bit fragile And they break easily. The other ones works great in wood but in metal the little tricky and lose their charp very fast.

These DeWalt bits are the bomb. If you don't have these, buy them now!
