Blew out after 3 weeks
Split open after just a few weeks. The part is held together by a tiny amount of glue. Do better.

Fixed the leakage problem together with the pressure regulator.

    Garbage quality
I don't like to write negative reviews, but this item is garbage. It leaks after 6 months of use. I'm on my third one. It's inexpensive to replace but there is clearly something amiss with the manufacturing process which could be easily fixed with $0.10 more glue. Dear Corporate Buyer at Home Depot, find a new supplier for this part. Attached photo demonstrates the leak at front and rear of the item.

      Do not buy.
I bought this in February 2020, but didn't install it until around April. It worked fine when I manually turned the water on to the drip system, but once I finally left the water on and the drip set to automatic, the thing started leaking after a few hours. Luckily I checked it before I wasted too much water. See picture. Unfortunately this is the only backflow preventer sold at HD. I'll need to find a more reliable one at a different store.

Super easy. I like that it is so small. Take this off your irrigation system before a freeze. The expanding water will ruin the unit, but I would expect that with any backflow preventer.

This part was used in conjunction with a multi port water timer and has worked just like it should, compared to another DIG backflow restrictor I used already

        Poor quality, soft plastic material
I've been buying a replacement for this backflow preventer every year since installing an irrigation drip system few years ago. The plastic is so soft that the threads wear out fast and cause leaks. Time to switch to another brand

It started leaking on the very first day. I set my hose pressure the same as I have for 17 years so I don’t believe my house pressure was too high. There was literally water spraying out micro cracks in the plastic – it wasn’t really even at the threaded joint. I did not use tools to tighten it so apparently hand tightening it did fracture the inside of the plastic so poor quality. I will be Returning this item.

Relatively new and leaks like Niagara Falls! This item does not do anything other than waste water!

            Stopped working, water spewing everywhere
These things are not worth it. You may be thinking - oh it's cheap, let's try this first! Well let me tell you, I ran it for like 2 weeks and they broke. Worth your time and $$ to get a better quality product.

              worked for what i needed
The spigots at the house i rent are all old and threads are bad. My hose would get stuck on them. I bought these as a temporary solution and they have worked as expected. No need to over tighten, no leaks and my hose doesnt get stuck. They are cheap so if it breaks i just pop another on. Had them for 2 years now and only replaced one because i broke it over tightening it.
