[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had several variable speed rotary kits over the years with various types of sanding bands, which I have primarily used to sand, trim, or shape metal and wood items. However, I have found some new and beneficial uses of sanding bands. I have found the 432 1/2 inch 120 grit sanding band to be the most useful on most wood and metal objects. However, recently I have been using the band on myself and pets. In particular the sanding band are great when operating at medium speeds to trim my toe nails and calluses on the bottom of my feet. In addition, I can use the same equipment on trimming and shaping my dogs toe nails. They do not object to such toe trimmings versus the clippers that can often cut too deeply into their quick and cause bleeding. The animals are more relaxed and I think the bands do a better job in avoiding rips and tears to their nails. Using the variable speed rotary tool has expanded its usefulness and eliminated the need to buy a specialty tool to trim the nails of my dogs.
