i just bought it got home home and am totally amazed it goes through tall grass like its nothing it doesn't bog down at all like my old weedeater I'm really impressed

This is the second echo srm 230 that i have owned. The first one was stolen from my garage and I purchased a Stihl and didn't like it. It felt cheap and lacked power so I went and bought another srm 230. Well worth the money and will last a long time if cared for.

It runs great if/when finally starts. I completely drain and run it dry so the fuel is not the problem. It's not much good if it won't start.

I am very impressed with this trimmer. I extensively researched the other players (Stihl & Husqvarna), and ended up purchasing the SRM-230. This is my first Echo product and I am beyond impressed. The power that this small engine makes is incredible (it sounds great too!). The engine is also very easy to start. No more than 2 pulls required each time I fire it up. This trimmer will eat up heavy weeds with no issues at all. I have cut some pretty thick stuff and never felt like I needed any more power. The speed feed timmer head may be the best feature. This thing is so easy to load and releases extra trimmer line exactly as you want. No more frustration while out clearing my property. I am so impressed with this trimmer, that I am now shopping for a new Echo chainsaw.

I love how easy it starts and how smooth it runs. Throttle response is good and has decent power. I would like the overall balance to be better. The cutting head needs to be heavier. It is too light and is easily jolted from the cutting position. The string spool doesn't hold enough string and has to be refilled too frequently. Reliability was what I was looking for when I purchased this unit. I love the 5 year warranty.

Had it for a couple months now & love it! Has started every time without a problem! Has plenty of power and is balanced very well. This thing is very well built and I think it will last a very long time. I will seriously look into other Echo products!!!

Just picked this up on the 3rd of Sept, 2016. Took it home and started the reading as I normally do with most of my new tool purchases, just to be on the safe side. Made sure everything was in the box that is suppose to come with it. Everything was accounted for. I read this little beast prefers 89 octane fuel so off I went to get it with the advised 10% ethanol. Fueling presented no issues, meaning no leaks. A 2.6oz bottle of 2 cycle oil comes with your purchase in the box. I primed the bulb 8 times as instructed, set the choke and squeezed the throttle, as instructed. On the 4th pull she fired up. Turned off the choke and I let her warm up a couple minutes. She purred the whole time, meaning no stutter. Well off I went to the yard. This baby did everything I asked her to do at half throttle. I can only imagine what it will do at full throttle. If you are cutting around small trees or small samplings, this will cut them down at full throttle, I'm quite sure. It will surely debark your tree. I chose the Echo SRM230 over another Husky due to the fact my Husky just froze up on me and it was only 7yrs old. Very pleased so far with the Echo. Very smooth running light and the power, amazing. I'll write again after I use it the rest of the summer here in Michigan. Warranty is very good, just don't forget to register your new weed killer. If it would have come with a harness, I would have gave 5 stars.

Just finished weed eating the lawn with my recent purchase, completed in half the time as my last trimmer. I think I'll trim everyone in the neighborhood, I'm very pleased with this one. Wouldn't hesitate a moment to purchase any of their products, you shouldn't either.

I use this trimmer with my Echo PB 230 LN blower and both work very hard and do a great job I never had any problems with them starting l would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a pair of dependable tools

My new Echo SRM-230 is more powerful than I perceived. It cuts an overgrown field with no problem. It uses a lot of string, but I'm using it for cutting thick areas. The string reloads in a couple of minutes and extends line with just a tap. Nice unit.

Second one I have owned, bought it today and works very well. First one lasted well over 15 years with very little maintenance, still runs great.

I have had an Echo trimmer before and absolutely loved it. This trimmer is the best one I have used! I will never use a different brand! It made short work of thick grass 2 feet tall, I got almost the whole 3/4 acre done in just under 2 hrs. Stop reading and go to the store and get this trimmer!!!

Bought this due to my neighbor had one and I borrowed it one time and liked it. Purchased mine but still unsure if his was just one in a million as sometimes happens when you purchase small engine equipment. Mine runs as good or better and could not be happier.

Every thing I own that's Echo is a top performer and this implement is no different. Right out of the box, it fired up and went to work. I immediately put the blade attachment on it. If I had any complaint it's the blade sharpness. I worked it a half hour and its cutting power was half as well.

I had a comercial redmax which I loved had to replace it and for the money and construction of this unit can't beat it for the price and I say that cause I work on alot of lawn equipment and this is well made .and warranty of 5yrs is a great plus most don't stand behind there's like that for a warranty so very pleased so far with my purchase steve m longstreth

i bought this weedeater in hopesthat it would be good it has done much much better then expected and i cant wait to use it again great powerfull durable and gas saving machine . earned a 10 in my book

I bought this trimmer about 10 or 12 years ago at Stewart's Power Equipment in Holbrook, Ma. Mine is a Model SRM-230S, which may be an older model that isn't made anymore, but it has been a great tool. I have never had to have it serviced----- not even a spark plug. It always starts on the second or third pull of the cord even after not being used all winter. I also own an ES-250 Shred 'N' Vac which also runs just as well as the trimmer. The other day, a friend let me borrow his HC-152 Hedge Trimmer and it worked very nicely. Needless to say, the HC-152 Hedge Trimmer is on my list as the next tool for me to buy. Keep up the good work ECHO---- your power tools are awesome!

bought this weedeater as a replacement and so far really like it, as with other Echo products it starts easy and performs great

Having been a store manager of a large retail home improvement store , we were trained on all brands we carried. We needed one for our home and purchased an Echo straight shaft trimmer based on the engineering superiority.15 years later with nothing but gas and line it finally quit. Still repairable. but time for a new one.

I never owned an echo product before,so i was taking a chance with a new trimmer--- but too my surprise it's a great product, so far i'm very happy with it.

Had six lots to cut with grass and weeds over 4 feet tall. Used the Beast with Echo SRM Universal Blade Kit attached and took it all down.

Lots of power, easy on gas, easy to replace string on, very impressed.

Very light weight & powerful!! I'm 6'1 and very comfortable with it. This model is very well made and I use it with the echo premix fuel. It always starts right up. I love the fact that you can turn it any direction and doesn't leak fluid. One of my favorite features on the trimmer is the way you reload the reel. It's supper easy, no fuss! I am very pleased with it. It is the best trimmer I have ever owned. Well worth the money.

Having purchased the SRM-230 a couple of weeks ago I am very pleased with how easy it is to start and operate. The bump string feed is such a pleasure to use by having to manually advance the line. Using the 0.95 dia. line stands up to tasks that smaller lines would require using more line to complete the task.

I bought this to trim some heavier weeds on a 4 acre field bounded by woods. The unit starts easy, runs well and has the power needed to slice through most weeds. The .095 echo string works well. Spool is easy to reload as directed in manual. Tall grass does wrap around the spool when trying to cut close to the ground. Larger Black Raspberry stalks also tend to wrap rather than be cut cleanly - not really the fault of the trimmer.

This Model has been a great one. I put on a lot of hours on them and this is the 5th one I have owned in 12 years. It not because they go bad I just wear them out. The reason I bought this one is because (not because the last one died) but after 2 1/2 years of work the throttle trigger broke inside the handle. And had to buy another one cause of the jobs I had. I have since bought a new handle assembly and use that one as a backup or just to let the new one cool down.

Good machine owned 2 before.great cutting power. Don't no about warranty put 100 percent gas and echo oil last forever.i am happy with product.

I bought this 10 years ago!! Still working like brand new!! Has lasted me a long time and still going. Best weed trimmer ive ever used
