For the reviews I read I almost did not buy this stove! fact 1 it does hold 3 bags of pellets(120lbs), there is a void you have to push the pellets up into, it is tight for three bags but it does fit as instructed. we replaced a old stove with this one not disappointed. we may buy another for our office

Noisy and Lacking Key Features: I bought the Englander (Model #25-CBPAH) on October 27, 2020 by phone and had it delivered. That was a bit more than a month ago at the time of this posting. Unfortunately, I was unable to go into the Home Depot I purchased this unit from. The nearest store is 300 miles from my home. So, the web page was all I had to go with. Since then I have had the unit installed in a standard framed home (not mobile home). I can confirm, this unit produces heat (sometimes too much) and uses about 70lbs of pellets (1.75 bags) daily at the lowest burn setting. However, the noise is constant and often unbearable. For a stove priced at $1649 (at the time of purchase), I expected so much more. The short version, DO NOT BUY THIS PELLET STOVE, I have supplied specific experiences below. - The instruction manuals and online videos are lacking key descriptions as to how to reassemble components which have come loose during shipping or as a reference during daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance. They list each of these intervals in the manual. I recommend taking a photo of the component placement once you figure out the orientation of each piece. - As a dangerous feature, the pellet feeder auger continues to run after the recommended initial dry run has been completed. This made pellets from the very first "live" run (after completing the dry run as instructed in the documentation) pump out pellets non-stop and caused the burn basket to overflow. This resulted in a massive blaze inside the burn chamber. The resulting fire let off a lot of smoke due to the enamel coating burning (it changed colors) and filled the whole house. Thankfully, the fire itself was contained within the burn chamber, so that is one positive point. I used the “Off” button to initiate a shut down and waited for the house to air out. About an hour later, after the unit cooled off, the enamel cooled stopped smoking, and the stove had cycled off again, I restarted it using the “On” button. There was no new smoke once it completed the “SU” mode. It seems to be running at appropriate temperatures for the past month. - The cleaning instructions in the manual refer to a tool which is neither illustrated in the manual or included in the purchase. There is a picture of this tool on a sticker on the bottom of the hopper loading door, so at least I know what is should look like. Now that I have owned this unit for more than a month, I strongly recommend getting an ash vacuum to help you clean it. There are several nooks which cannot easily be cleaned using a brush (under the burn basket, far right and left of the burn box, inside the burn box service panel doors, etc..). - The instructions give no description about the function for 3 of the buttons on the control panel. "Low Fuel Feed", "Low Burn Air", and "Air On Temp" buttons have no documentation. It is possible to research this online, but clearly a missing bit of information. - There is no external thermostat or clock or timer on this pellet stove. How can each of these features be completely overlooked? These are not expensive to implement and I have seen other pellet stoves (after purchasing this one) which include these options at a lower price. As far as I can tell, there is no interface for adding functions either. The technology used for input and display looks decades old (like an alarm clock from the 1980s), providing only minimal control and reporting no operational information. The single digit display does light up for a few minutes when a button is pressed, but goes dark again shortly afterward. - The blowers in this pellet stove are extremely loud. The exhaust blower (external air source/exhaust) is a minor background noise compared to the jet engine-like noise from the internal circulation blower. At circulation settings 3 and under, the sound is tolerable. However, at 4 and above, the circulation blower noise easily drowns out the volume we previously used on the television (about as loud as a vacuum cleaner). It should be noted that using the lowest heat setting, if the circulation blower is set at 3 or below, the blower will occasionally boost up to the highest setting for a few minutes at a time to remove excess heat. So, anything below 4 is not a practical setting. At setting 4 it has boosted the blower speed at roughly 8-minute intervals for 5-minutes at a time. I have not dared to keep the blower set above 4 for very long due to the noise. Further, using blower settings 7, 8, and 9 do not increase the indoor blower speed past setting 6 (no audible change). But, that is just another disappointment with this unit. - There is a terrible vibration from the pellet stove. This oscillation causes an odd hum in the walls (because it shakes the house) and can be heard in other rooms as a buzzing or rumble. The sound is similar to a helicopter flying nearby or a diesel engine running outside. Keep in mind, this stove weighs over 250 lbs. empty. I have added with another 120 lbs. (3 bags) of pellets to the hopper and IT STILL SHAKES. When I power the unit off, the noises finally stop and I can get some sleep... But, of course, then it gets very cold again. Very impractical for a heater. - Also, about vibration noise, there is a piece of sheet metal inside the indoor air heat exchange area which makes its' own special buzzing noise. I am not sure what else to say that I haven't already covered. Everything about this pellet stove is just loud. To mitigate this noise, I folded some aluminum foil and wedged it into a the gap between outer wall and the inner noise-flap at key locations. This has mostly eliminated the unbearable sheet metal buzzing. - The lid safety switch was broken and laying in pieces inside the pellet hopper. This was an easy fix, just jumper the electrical spade connectors together. But, there has not been a hopper door safety switch in place since purchase. - Due to my location (rural Alaska), I could not drive 300 miles one-way to return the stove. I would have done this without hesitation if I had the means at the time. Rest assured, I will be contacting the manufacturer regarding these and the other issues with this pellet stove.

The auger quit working after about 3 hours of use which was troubling. I called the company and the technician who helped me was fanstasic, he had me do a minor repair (Tightening a screw on the auger camshaft). It took a total of about 10 minutes and the unit was back up and running again. I hope the unit continues working well, but its nice to know that the support is knowlegable and helpful if it does continue to have problems.

Stay away from this company. I purchased a stove brand new, it is a faulty piece of junk and their service department will act like you don’t exist when you have problems. I’ve asked for warranty work or a new stove or my money back and have been ignored. This stove is for heating a much larger space than it’s in and will not heat past 10c I have zero faith in this product keeping my space warm in winter. Pure junk! I bought this 2 years ago and love it. Very efficient we use 1 - 1 1/2 bags of pellets a day using the Ambiance brand with very little dust.

This stove is an expensive boat anchor, blows fuses constantly, straight out of the box and am required through warranty to repair myself. It has never burned a pellet of wood yet and am buying a different stove, should have looked into online reviews prior to purchase, there's nothing but forums of problems on this piece of junk.

Has never worked right since we bought it. Year later still breaking.

Very nice stove burned pot burned out after a year and a half they replaced it for free and no problem with it all they sent it within 24 hours stove is awesome if you're having a problem with yours and you probably done something wrong bad pellets or something

Not as expected Unfortunately nothing like what we already had. Smaller Englander was much better than the recent stove.

Junk , I returned 5 -p25 pellet stoves last year , so I upgraded to this one last month and now this one does not work , they are complete junk

Great looking machine. However, motor stopped working day two and it sounds like it is going to explode. Returning to store.

Had high hopes for this stove. My husband set it up and the auger was froze. There is no tech support. Now we have to find a way to load it into the truck to take it back. Will look for another brand

We bought this stove 2/14/21, we brought it home installed it(this was to replace our previous stove that we have had for the last 15 years). Followed the installation and startup instructions. Couldn’t get the stove to stay lit kept getting an error. On 2/18/21 my wife went to start the stove, it started for a couple minutes and then gave us a failed to start error code, she let it shut off and just turned the furnace back on, about 20 minutes later she noticed the house was getting filled with smoke, she went and checked the stove and found the hopper was on fire. We unplugged the stove got the fire out and put the pellet stove on the porch. Upon investigating we found that embers somehow made their way up the auger into the hopper. Called hone depot and had to take it to a different store for the exchange. They gave us a replacement we brought it home got it running but it barely puts out any heat, with our previous server Ellet stove we would be able to put it at the middle setting and it would keep the house a comfortable 68-70. This pellet stove on high kept letting our furnace keep kicking on with the furnace set to 62 degrees. The sides of this get so hot that it discolored the paint on the sides. I will be returning it, and having them order me a comfortbilt.

My unit requires constant attention. It holds 120lb of pellets, but it shuts down with half of the fuel still in the hopper. It takes about 20-30 min to start up. The auger empties out a reverse cone and stops. The blower, on high, one could not feel it 18" away from it. Waste of my time, money and now I have to repair my wall. My building is insulated well and 2000 sq ft. It would need 4 of these units to make a dent. Will be taking it back...

Had Englander before. Lasted 11 yrs. Guess wore it out. This one works great. Warms house quickly. Easy to clean.

The heater worked poorly on our first day but after it made it past the setup and first bag of pellets it worked great! The write up is completely incorrect about pellet capacity if that is something you worry about as it only holds 2 bags of pellets! Ha Ha Ha it holds 3 bags if you count the one that is burnt in the ash bin! The downside we found is that Home Depot left the stoves in the greenhouse and it ended up having mouse feces inside the stove and bird droppings over the top of it. This left me the feeling of how you are not respected as a customer and after I reported the issue to customer service the representative turned and just walked away! When all is said and done it was a lot of work but once you get it running (a full day of work but that depends on your house) it is a great heater.

This stove gets a full 5 stars it heats the whole hose with no issues at all! Love this stove!

Owned two days and its stopped working the auger doesnt work

This stoves heats effectively and efficiently. Start up is SUPER easy. I am so pleased with this stove!!

Drilled holes, installed to specs and worked great the first 12 hrs, after that it kept shutting off, auger would turn but no pellets, igniter would go out with no warning or codes. Then the next day it would only run for an hour or so, absolute garbage. Plus they advertise 120 lb hopper, when it would only take maybe 100!!

It puts out a good heat. But noise and stink is almost not worth it. Not to mention the amount of work it took my contractors to put this this up. And drill a hole in the wall! Ugh. So now my house is warmer, but I have to put my tv on the highest setting to be able to hear it . I can't wait till it's spring.. I think.
