It is not universal because it didn’t work on my Koehler seat. This may be unique to Koehler but the screw did fit because of the design on Kohler. Otherwise, I’m sure it’ll work on others.

I was perplexed at first how a bolt could disappear. The Everbilt Universal Toilet Seat Hinge Bolt Assembly at left was able to handle the torque from my power tool. The original at right chipped while I'm tightening it, which led me to surmise that the old one broke and fell. It's good that it comes in pairs.
