The Weyland 44” x 24” Fire Pit by Fire Sense makes a bold statement on any patio, deck, or outdoor gathering. Its Antique Bronze finish adds elegance and style to any outdoor setting and elevates the mood of any gathering. It is constructed of high-quality aluminum that resists rust and should provide years of enjoyment.
The assembly is straightforward, and all of the parts are easy to discern their place in the build thanks to the excellent instructions and part labeling. Overall, it took me approximately 45 minutes to complete the assembly of this outdoor marvel. However, I strongly recommend using your own tools to ensure no setbacks in the assembly process, since the included tools are not adequate. Also, I noticed that the latch on the door was not well-engineered and therefore, it will be difficult to close and lock the door shut. For me, I had to make a minor adjustment to the latch to ensure the door to the propane tank remained closed. Although others mentioned having issues with the flame, i.e., the way it looks, for me, it looks fine and I believe for most, this will be the case.
In summary, this is a gorgeous Fire Pit that makes a bold statement in any outdoor setting. It adds a calming vibe to your outdoor gathering with its antique bronze finish, captivating flames, and high-quality build. I would definitely recommend this product.
Be prepared if you purchase this fire pit at the store or have store pickup - it is a BIG box, approximately 4' x 4'. That's not a bad thing, just a heads-up so you have the means to transport it home.
We have a lanai and screen enclosure around our pool. On cooler evenings we like to use the lanai for entertaining or just as a place to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. We looked at propane heaters and firepits, and decided that a firepit would be more appropriate for our needs and also add a nice aesthetic to the lanai as well. We also wanted a firepit that uses a 20 pound propane tank, as we have had firepits in the past that only used the small camp stove cylinders, which were used up quickly and not easy to change. This firepit uses a standard 20 pound propane tank, just like a grille.
The firepit is well-packed, with all of the parts clearly marked. The parts appear to be well-made and substantial. The finish is solid and consistent on all of the parts. As with many "assembly required" items these days, there is a red tape connected to the bag of hardware so you can find it in the box.
Assembly is straightforward and the instructions are well written and illustrated. I used my own tools to speed assembly, however, the included tools are adequate for assembly if you choose to use them. You definitely want to have a helper handy to assist with moving things around, as you have to assemble the firepit upside down and flip it over once complete. I chose to run the fasteners down close to being hand tight, then after all of the parts are assembled, move things around to get clearances and gaps uniform and then tighten. I also used thread locking compound (not included) on the threaded studs that go into the legs to prevent them from loosening over time. This certainly isn't necessary, but I figured if I'm moving the firepit around our lanai, which I expect to be on occasion, it will keep things tight.
Once I assembled the firepit itself, I waited to add the glass discs around the burner until I had it in the location we chose. I point this out because the glass discs add a substantial amount of weight to the firepit, making it harder to move once they are in place. Also, when you remove the box of glass discs, don't panic! It sounds like a box full of broken glass!
Once in place and the propane tank is attached, I leak tested fittings with some soapy water as described in the instructions, then lit it off! Some observations:
It can produce a LOT of heat. Even on the lowest setting with no breeze blowing, people sitting around the firepit could feel the warmth.
Be careful when spreading the glass discs around the burner. Be aware of the holes in the burner and don't block any of them. This is easy to avoid if you spread the discs around evenly.
We really like the finish on this firepit. It's solid and consistent all over the product. It appears that it should stand up to the elements well. Even with that, a cover is included and we've been using it. Just be sure to let it cool off before putting the metal cover and/or the fabric cover on.
All in all, we're very happy with the firepit. It's substantial in construction, looks great on our lanai, and puts out plenty of heat when we want it. We've already had neighbors ask us about it when we've entertained. We highly recommend!
If you're looking for just ambiance, then this table is great for you. Assembly was okay. As others have stated, definitely use your own tools. The nuts are labeled as 6mm, but they are actually 10mm. A 10mm and 14mm wrench are all you need. The biggest negative for this has to be the flame aspect. The burner assembly just sits on top, for one, it is not secured down other than the hose to the tank. And the flame itself looks like a grill, does not look like a natural flame, big disappointment. It also throws heat up, not so much out. Not a big deal, but the sides go all the way to the table, there is no gap as pictured. Overall, I would not recommend this fire table if entertaining is a priority.
This is a beautiful piece but has a couple down falls. First the instructions are not the easiest as parts are not labeled pieces are labeled (ie: nuts, screws etc.) I recommend as do the instructions have another person to help assemble. Took longer than expected to assemble (over 1 hour.) Product is also fairly light with glass in the fire bowl. There are extra nuts, bolts, screws which is nice. In one of the pictures I am pointing out holes where I suggest if you have extra screws to screw down the fire ring, even with the weight of glass in the bowl it might shift. Another downfall is no guard to protect the flame from the wind. In all I do recommend this product, very sturdy and large for the perfect patio, deck, driveway hangout. The color is great.
Our Fire Sense Weyland Fire Pit Table was received packed well for shipping and in great condition. All tools needed are included, though you will likely want to use your own if that is an option, as the small wrench can be a little tedious while tightening things down. Instructions are pretty clear. Just be sure to actually read them rather than skimming over them. I just skimmed and had to redo the posts between a couple of the panels because I did not pay attention to the orientation of the part that connects to the tabletop (make sure those are pointing outward). My fault! Putting this together would be quicker with 2 people, but it can absolutely be done by oneself. The fire bowl just sits in the top and you fill it with the provided glass stones. Lit right up on the first try.
The table has a beautiful, hammered bronze finish. It is pretty lightweight, so it is easy to move where needed. Comes with a cover to place over the fire bowl area to make it a solid table and also a fabric cover for the entire table when not in use. Will be perfect for upcoming summer nights around the pool. Turn it on low just for the ambiance or higher for a little heat. Overall, looks really nice, seems sturdy, and works well.
Assembly was pretty straight forward and fairly simple. Took about 1.5hrs. I recommend using your own tools vs the things that are included(junk) 10mm wrench and a 5mm hex. the tank support was a bit of a fight to get in and that sets the space of the opening for the tank door as well as stabilize the base. Our tank door will not fit flush and is a bear to get latched. I emailed the support folks. They got back to me pretty quick but, they did no real diagnosis of the problem. Since my complaint was that the door didnt fit, they were just going to send a new door. However, they don't have one.
At that point I as advised to just return it. End of conversation.
I already ordered the the glass wind screen. Which seems like it should be standard since a light breeze pushes the flame around quite a bit ($60.00 on the Fire Sense website)
I'll get a big hammer and a 2x4 to see what I can do with the door since you need to open and close it every time you use it. If I cant make it work, I'll send it back
44" Fire Pit - Propane - Perfect for Outdoor Gatherings
This Fire Pit is awesome. It is the perfect complement to a patio or gazebo area. We have a gazebo are that has a couple ceiling fans and those help cool the air down in the summer, but during the winter we were really lacking a hangout spot outdoors because the cool air was too chilly. We have seen fire pits and nearly bought many, but we ordered this and we are super glad we did.
What I like:
• It is not difficult to start a fire, as long as you have two hands.
• The tabletop is huge! 44 inches just seems way bigger.
• You can adjust the flame by turning the knob.
• There is table space around the 24-inch fire pit for drinks or whatever.
• It is propane efficient – it does not burn through your propane.
• Safer than a log fire pit.
The package arrived without any major issues and nothing inside appeared to be broken or damaged. The pieces inside are separately boxes and nothing was missing from the inventory provided. The directions are easy enough to understand. During installation, I got about 80 complete and the door would not close on the bottom. I had to take the whole fire pit back apart to figure out what was wrong with the installation. Turns out the fire pit is fine right until the point when you add the propane bottle holder. I had to add it and remove it until I found out that one bolt had to be removed and three bolts had to be loosened so that the door would be able to close. Having the holder attached firmly was creating too much pull on the frame. Once I trial and errored my way past this step, I was pretty much finished. I inserted the fire pit section and added the rocks. You must add a AAA battery to the ignition button, and I had inserted it backwards. I had a 50/50 shot and failed that one. But once it is inserted correctly, it’s ready to use. I turn on the gas just slightly and push the ignition button as I push in and slowly turn the right knob counterclockwise. The burners light up and I was able to enjoy a nice warm air hit the surrounding area as I turned up the level to high. Sitting about 3 to 4 feet away from the table you can feel the warmth and the glow of the fire really lights up the area. In inside of our gazebo roof was glowing and it felt really cozy. After done using the fire pit, I would suggest giving the table 15 minutes or more to cool down properly before putting the center tabletop back over the burners. Also, the fire pit comes with a high-quality cover to keep everything clean and free from anything flying around outdoors. You’ll still want to carefully clean around the fire pit routinely to make sure nothing has nested inside, or dirt has collected.
I would certainly recommend this fire pit to anyone looking for a great looking fire pit for entertaining friends and family. A log firepit has its benefits, but this type is easy and good to go if you have propane and two hands for starting it. You should not roast marshmallows in the fire, but you can still enjoy the warmth and glow you’re looking for. The first thing we did around ours was have dinner (pizza) with family and it was brilliant.
Fire Sense Weyland 44 inch Antique Bronze Fire pit Table
There is quite a bit to like about this antique bronze propane fire pit from Fire Sense. Firstly, I don't know about you, but my wife and I had fun assembling it. We took our time and had it all ready to test out in about an hour. Once assembled, we carried it to the location we chose to keep it. It comes with a really nice cover to protect it from the elements when not in use. If you are like us and love being outside and having gatherings this fire pit will get a lot of use. It doesn't sit up super high but if you set up some chairs around it the big round 44 inch table top will definitely get use whether it be to set plates and drinks or just some elbows so you can stare into the flames. About the only thing I wish I could do was cook on it which is not its intended purpose.... but, who's to say Fire Sense won't come out with something to set up over the flames. The door latch is a bit tricky and I may change it down the road, but that's a very minor complaint. If you crank up the gas it puts out a nice big beautiful fire and it reflects really nicely off the fire glass stones that surround the burner. All in all, we are really happy with this Fire Sense Weyland fire pit and look forward to enjoying it for many years no matter the season.
The Weyland 44” round, 24” tall aluminum propane firepit is well constructed. It features an Antique Bronze finish. The actual firepit is well designed and looks great as a result of the round reflective fire glass. Manufactured for use with propane, the firepit inclused the necessary parts to convert to natural gas if so desired. A 20 lb propane tank is required (not included) and fits easily inside the base. A spring-loaded latch secures the door when closed. The control panel is located inside the base and accessed through the door in the base. The control panel includes an electronic ignitor (requires one AAA battery not included) and a control knob. Lighting the fire pit table is quick and easy. Simply push and turn the control knob to Low while continuing to push the control knob for 15 seconds. This gives the fire time to warm up the safety feature which will automatically shut off the gas if the fire goes out. When not being used as a firepit the unit has a metal cover enabling it to be used as a table. Also included is an all weather cover.
This Fire Pit Table was used in temperatures from 15-50 degrees Fahrenheit. The flame is beautiful and warming, creating a wonderful gathering place. The fire gives off enough light to keep the area around the firepit lit but not so bright to be overwhelming. The flame can be adjusted as desired to set the perfect ambience. A final note, construction was not complicated. It required installation of 12 bolts to construct the base, 5 bolts to secure the propane tank support and 4 bolts to secure the base to the table top. Time required 30 minutes.
An elegant addition to my patio. I love the scale of this table. The included glass stones, metal cover and fabric cover are thoughtful details. The table puts out a nice amount of heat. Great that it can be converted to natural gas. It took about 1.5 hours to assemble
You can assemble it on your own, but a second person is helpful for turning product over. I struggled alittle with lining up base to top screw holes. I was able to connect them by rotating and lifting base for better alignment. I also had difficulty closing door after assembly. I was able to adjust door fit by loosening the screws for the propane tank holder. In retrospect, I may have been able to avoid this issue if I made sure the door was securely latched through out the assembly process. The instructions were easy to follow. All hardware and tools were provided and some extra hardware was included. Treat yourself to this fire table.
Thanks for actually writing the instructions in plain English with pictures to help. It went together perfectly in less than an hour and we enjoyed it for the first time yesterday.
