awful, brittle, stiff to staple. do not use this crap. We would not use it again if it were free

the instructions stated you should leave a couple of inches up the wall then trim the underlayment after the flooring was installed. That proved to be rather difficult in the kitchen I was working in. There were numerous bump-outs and that caused the material to pucker, so I left it up the wall on opposite ends of the room but trimmed it to fit prior to installing the planks in the areas with custom cabinets and built-in features.

Easy to install. Seems to do the job it's intended to do.

This product is light and easy to use, the 4’ width speeds up installation time over narrower widths. At the time of my purchase the larger length rolls were also a better value per square foot, so plan out how much you need and opt for bigger rolls rather than many small rolls. The product cut easiest with scissors for me, or make sure you have a fresh blade in your utility knife. Used with ¾” solid hickory flooring (nail down). Does not make the floor “squishy” but the underfoot feel is better than a thinner felt barrier. Leaves a solid feel and dampens without excessive movement.

My installer said it was average and uses a better product with a plastic vapor barrier attached to a 2 mm pad. It rips pretty easy. It does not really add much insulation, but it is quiet to walk on. The price was ok.

This stuff is only expensive because it can be. It’s just foam. And the directions are meh. I ruined probably $10 worth of product just trying to get the plastic strip unfolded
