It's a beautiful marble base and it came with 2 wires for slicing. The wire is so flimsy,I used both of them and now unless I order more wires I won't be able to use it anymore. I expected the wires yo be stronger and hold up better and for a longer period of time. Disappointing ?

This was a great cheese slicer. Anyone who likes cheese and doesn't have one of these should get one.

Could not make handle that cutting wire goes through screw in properly. Maybe stripped, Maybe just bad design, maybe just a bad item. Threw in trash and bought different cutter that made good sturdy connection. It was a nice piece of marble but lousy cheese cutter.

I bought this a week ago. The wire that came attached to it fell apart at the twist when it tried to use it, and there was no extra wire included as stared in the description. Very disappointed

This is a good cheese slicer. I purchased two this last time. One had the wire strung incorrectly but I was able to fix it. The second one had a broken wire. I was able to fix it, but as I planned on giving it as a gift, it now has only one replacement wire! Quality control was absent for both items.

I have a cutter very similar to this one that I have used for years and just love. I bought a second one for my winter home and I find this cutter to be just like the one I had before. It cuts cheese very easily and I can make my slices any width I want.

We have owned a cheese slicer like this for several years and it is used often. It slices cheese easily to your desired thickness. Should the wire break, replacement wires are readily available for purchase online. I recently purchased 3 of these at Home Depot for Christmas gifts, one of which is for someone who has used the cheese slicer at my home, and now they want one of their own.

I had one for years and the wire finally broke. It's an awesome product. Comes with an extra wire.

It looks lovely sitting on our counter, easy to use and clean. Kids enjoy slicing cheese for their sandwiches and crackers.
