Great switch. I have recently gone nuts with the Zwave stuff and this product is great. When I added it, it showed up as an on/off only so this is not a dimmer but an on/off switch. There are plenty of times when this is exactly what you want because if you are hooking this up to a fan or something you only want on and off and no dim so you dont damage the equipment. Either way a great product and added easily.

This plug in smart switch is pretty cool, and a nifty device for someone that isn't very handy with rewiring electrical, as you only just plug it in! Super easy. The whole smart phone controlling the lights is a great idea, it operates similar to the old style clapper, but with a totally modern "smart" capability. It's awesome to be able to turn your light off from your phone!

I just started into the Z-Wave extravaganza, and I love it. I control outdoor lighting, Christmas lights, and with these single plug units I control indoor lamps. It comes in handy when scheduling lights to go on and off while on vacation. You do need a Z-Wave hub to run these, which also can be found at home depot. Once you plug the unit in, paring with the hub is very easy using hub app. These are great units and I recommend to anyone wanted light control from anywhere in world. Keep in mind that you do need internet access to be able to control the lights from any where.

GE Z-Wave smart switch has two (2) connected outlets. Being located on the side, it is easy to place furniture in front of switch without the AC cord getting in the way. If you orient the module correctly, you will have easy access to the push button with its BLUE LED indicator lamp.
For me, programming is straight forward through my WINK-2 app. I always run the factory reset feature shown in the instruction manual. While holding the button in, plug the module into the AC outlet and keep holding it for three (3) second and the LED lamp under the button will blink. Ready to sync to your hub (WINK-2).
This is always a little frustrating, so be patient, especially if you have more that a few devices.
After it is added to my hub I ask ALEXA to find devices. That's it, I'm up and running.
The great feature of this versus the single outlet version, is I can have two (2) lamps on my dresser both go on or off without an extra multi-tap adapter. Also the manual button push if the device is easily reached.

A smart switch came with my new ADT home security system, and I wanted another for a lamp in the bedroom. The GE smart switch was so easy to connect to my system. It's great to be able to use my cell phone to turn it on when you're coming home after dark.

Replaced 8 year old modules with these new GE modules....
Replaced 8 year old modules with these new GE modules. They work flawlessly and I love the fact that there are two zwave controlled plugs per module.

Smart plug!

Great smart home intro

I hooked it up to our lamp in the living room to easily control from my phone and dim as needed! I particularly love the usb inputs included that I can charge other devices! It’s super helpful for when I lose the plug for my phone and tablet!

Love It!

It's nice to control the lights without having to get up. When plugged in it's not big and bulky. It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I highly recommend!

Handy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I set this up with a Wink hub and it was very easy to connect. As soon as it paired it was automatically found by my Alexa app, so I can control the lights via my echo device.
These plugs are a great way to get smart outlets without having to rewire anything. I like that the outlets are on the side. I am using them to control lamps and it's great that the unit is small enough to go behind furniture without sticking out too far. Another great feature is that I can plug a charger into this too without having to use an outlet. Great product!

Awesome product

I put it in my bedroom and am using it for my lamp...I love how I do not have to get up to turn the light off now! It’s a dual plug plus has USB charging port! Will definitely be getting more to add around the house.

Very easy to set up. Had no problems including it in my Smartthings hub. Can handle up to 1800 W resistive load. Since it is z-wave plus, the range should be better than plain vanilla z-wave devices. The response is almost instantaneous inside my 2-story house. I have not tested the range-extension feature yet. Will update my review when I do that.

According to the SmartThings website, the SmartThings hub no longer supports multichannel devices as of July 2017. I purchased one of these and both outlets are only recognized as one device with no way to associate the outlets independently. Both outlets function together.

I have had this smart plug for several months and had a tough time getting it to connect to Wink....
I have had this smart plug for several months and had a tough time getting it to connect to Wink. It took some looking up, but apparently you have to plug the lamp (or something) into the plug into the wall and then connect to Wink. It worked. It was super easy to set up once I figured that out.
Using it with the Wink app was very easy. There may be a way to use this with Alexa but I use the app. In the end, I am happy with it, even though it took a bit and is a one item plug. (So you'll need more if you have more lamps.)

The Plugin Smart Switch was easy to install and works as described. We connected it to our Wink Hub within a couple of minutes. It was as simple as plugging the device into an outlet and hitting the button while going through the wizard in the Wink app. From there you can remotely control the outlet and we connected a lamp to it. The best part of these devices is using Wink or another Z Wave controller to automate things in your house. For example, our Wink Hub now uses this smart switch to automatically turn on our living room lamp at dusk and off again at dawn. It was also easy to connect the Amazon Echo (via Wink) to the switch in order to control it via voice commands. Just remember that you need some sort of hub to connect the device to, but it’s easy to use and makes it possible to integrate most any other device into your home automation after you plug it into this switch.

Virtually my entire house is controlled by a Wink 2, so I know a thing or two about these devices. I have a healthy mix of Lutron Casetta dimmers, Z-Wave outlets, WeMo plug-ins, Creed Connect bulbs, and so-on. This is a much larger than a WeMo. It’s a handsome model with it’s curves. As large as it is, when plugged into one of the outlets in a wall, it doesn’t block the second from being used. Z-Wave is the minority in my setup, and this is my first z-wave plus device. The Wink 2 does not support z-wave plus. I doubt a software update would enable that, but I could easily be wrong. Looking on their website they mention very select z-wave plus devices. Having said that, this device does work with my Wink. I assume it just means that I’m not using the “plus” features (Gen 5). Those features are attractive. I have a wall module upstairs that routinely disconnects, and I’ll bet plus would eliminate that. Bottom line is that this is the same price as competing products and has gen 5 z-wave, so I think it’s a good solution that will grow for you, even if you don’t have a controller that supports the new features today.

This product promises an opening to a futuristic world where home electrics can be controlled remotely or by voice. What itt doesn't tell you until line 15 of the 20 line long description is that z=wave isn't a GE brand name but the name of a system that needs to be in place before this plug can be used.
I didn't have it, so i gave the plug to a friend who has.
The plug works well and has the capacity to control hig electrical requirement devices such as a heater.

Setup is a breeze. Plug this module into an outlet and plug something, in our case a lamp, into it. It was recognized quickly by our Smart Things hub, and we had full control over the on/off from the app on our phone. The 4 star review was because the module has a blue light that stays lit as long as it is plugged into the wall, this meant we could not use it in our bedroom as originally planned as it lit the room for the whole night. Look to another module for light sensitive spaces.

Plug it in, set it up by pressing a button, expect this to disappear from your frontal lobe for the rest of Time. I've never had a GE indoor module lose connection with the Wink v1 -- I've only lost connection with all modules or only with an individual Leviton; the button on GE's outdoor module arrived broken off under the rubber protector, but somehow that managed to pair itself. These modules are GE's Jasco, no idea who is in charge of Wink these days, but the GE modules are effortless and 100% reliable -- but for any Wink issues, which crop up about once a week.
