Efficient and sturdy!
I was changing a light fixture that was a completely different sized base than the prior one, so wanted to patch and repair the ceiling as well. This sander did an amazing job - fast and efficient - I’ve sanded ceilings before, and it’s not fun… this made it much quicker to smooth things out. I had some really uneven sections and this stayed effective gritty throughout the project. I often end up having to wash my sanding sponges multiple times in a project, and I dry sanded the entire thing this time. Excellent high quality sanding sponge! Bonus points for whoever thought to add the grit to the side of the sponge. I have a huge bucket of sanding sponges in the garage, and once they’re used, I’m usually just fishing around picking out what I want by feel. Having the side labeled is one of those “why doesn’t everyone do this” ideas that I really liked.

Great Sanding Sponge
The GATOR 3 IN. X 5 IN. X 1 IN. 180 GRIT SUPER SPONGE SANDING SPONGE is a Great Sanding Sponge. This Made in the USA product is tough sandpaper for use on multi-surfaces, such as painted wood, drywall, metal or fiberglass. I sanded my baseboards and door trim in preparation to repaint. The 180-grit sandpaper sponge easily sanded the trim and the sponge let me get into the contours of the wood, for a superior sanding job. After I was finished sanding, I used my air compressor to clean off the sandpaper for the next sanding job. I definitely do recommend this product.

Better than the rest
Where other sanding blocks break apart, this one has a thick layer of actual sand/sponge-paper. When using on plaster, the dust also cleans off easily and it really does well in knocking down plaster walls as they dry. It seems like this sponge will last quite a while. It can be used on more than plaster. You can use it on wood, fiberglass, metal, and paint. I look foward to being able to find it at my HD store.

Great little sponge
I love these sanding sponges. So easy on my hands to use. I find these work awesome when I'm sanding spindles, dowls or really anything with a curvature. They come in several different grits so you can switch easily to a finer grit. These are great for tight areas where a detail sander just won't fit. Perfect when you need to sand a nail hole after filling or any other small job.

Great Flexible Sanding Sponge where Contours are needing sanding
I wanted a 180 grit for a finish sanding surface on some cabinets and light frames I was refinishing. I like these sponges because they are plenty firm, but are also somewhat flexible. This made sanding the contours in the door design and the rounded edges much easier than using a standard sanding block. It is also much easier on the hands than using plain sand paper to do the contours and rounded edges. These work very nice for those areas and did a great job overall.

Flexible Sanding Block
I had some frames, a front door, and some cabinets that I was going to refinish. I had a couple regular sanding blocks where you apply the sandpaper, but really wanted to try these for the contoured and beveled sections on these. The 60 grit is a great starting grit for most sections to knock off the rough areas and get it ready for a final pass. I really liked the flexibility of these "sponges". They are not flimsy like a dish washing sponge and are plenty firm for the job.

Part of a nice sanding system
This is the only time I have seen a 600 grit sandpaper on a foam block. This completes the series with a paper for polishing to rid a surface and anything that would keep it from being perfectly smooth and yet without scratching a new finish. It is actual sandpaper attached to a foam block. While this may reduce the life of more aggressive grits, the 600 should last a long time. I especially like having the 600 stamped in the side of the block, so I don't forget what it is when sitting in my shop. What you really need is one of each grit made and then you have all of your sanding/finishing needs covered.

Great for finer work and between finishes
Gator sanding block is perfect for finer work with its fine finish at 320 grit (very fine). We use it for wood artwork (carving on thin board) especially between finishes. It gives you a fine smooth ground after one layer of finishing is applied. It measures 3”x5”x1” and fits in hand nicely. It has a high quality feel to it. It can also be used on drywall for small clean ups (kids coloring the walls etc.) Overall, the sanding block is a useful addition to your DIY toolbox.

Good Sanding Sponge
The GATOR 3 IN. X 5 IN. X 1 IN. 600 GRIT SUPER SPONGE SANDING SPONGE is a Good Sanding Sponge. This assembled in the USA high performance super sponge can be used wet or dry for finish sanding or polishing. I used this sanding sponge to lightly sand the upstairs hand rails in preparation for a fresh coat of varnish. This grit was perfect for the job. I found this sanding sponge easy to use and the results were good. I definitely do recommend this product.

Works Great
If you have ever painted a car or truck, you know the secret to a mirror like finish is in the finish sanding. The problem I've run into in the past is sanding too deep on body lines or panel edges, but with this sponge, it's a little more forgiving. I prefer to use it wet so that it doesn't load up. I follow the 1500 grit up with 2000 grit, 3000 grit, and 7" hand held power polisher with a good quality polish.

Part of a convenient sanding system
Sanding for finishing is a process and I like that Gator has come up with an easy way to make sure that you have all the steps covered to get a quality result on walls or wood and other materials. This is sandpaper attached to a sponge and that makes it great for sanding slightly uneven surfaces in addition to smooth surfaces. I doubt that this would be suitable for wet sanding which I have done with sanding sponges that have the abrasive materials attached to the sponge itself. I especially like that the side of the sponge is labeled 220 (very fine), so I know I don't have to guess how abrasive it is.

Great Sanding Sponge!!
This is a high quality sanding sponge. The flexible sponge helps to sand irregular shapes with ease. The sand paper used had anti-clog technology and reduces heat so that it will last longer and sand better. For ease of storage they print the grit number on the side so if you have multiple different grits like I do you do not have to save the box or write on them. I highly recommend this sanding sponge.

Nice Sponge
Gator 3 in. x 5 in. x 1 in. 180 Grit Super Sponge Sanding Sponge (1-Pack). I like sanding sponges. As I commercial/ residential painter for many years I have used several sanding sponges over the years. This grit is nice for finish sanding or smooth wall patch, or something you don't want any kind of sanding marks in. It seems to stay sharp for a decent amount of time given the grit.

Not just for sheetrock
For years, sanding sponges were great for flattening mud on sheetrock. To the best of my knowledge though, they were only available in three grits, and none held up particularly well if used on wood. Thankfully, times have changed. These sponges are available in a wide variety of grits and hold up as well as any conventional sandpaper. Their crisp corners fit nicely into tight details, while their flat surfaces do away with the need for sanding blocks. Further, the finer grits are great for sanding varnish or poly between coats. Overall, whether wet or dry sanding, I know I can expect good results with this product.

Gator Sanding Sponge
Gator 80 Grit Super Sanding Sponge; 3 inch x 5 inch x 1 inch Medium remove on multi-surface for wood, metal, drywall, and painted surfaces. Easy to grip. Sanding paper stays put - unlike those plastic contraptions in which the paper rips or falls off. I like the flexibility of sponges for corners on walls or crevices when refinishing furniture. Not a total replacement for regular sandpaper but a nice addition to diyer toolkit.

Control & Comfort
Gator's integrated foam block gave me more control, and comfort while prepping the tighter, smaller spaces of my walls for painting. It stayed intact during the job. Pieces didn't fall off like some sponges. It was more comfortable to hold, and made quick work of the prep using the sponge versus sandpaper. The only thing that would make this the perfect sponge is if one edge had sandpaper on it for the tight spots where doors meet in a corner. I did like having the 120 grit stamped on the edge. There was never any confusion to what grit the sponge was while sanding. The packaging is great too, lets you know what grit is needed for the job. More control, comfort, and doesn't crumble under pressure!

Nice, easy to use sanding sponge!
This sanding sponge worked pretty well. The advertised coating to resist dust caking up seems to work pretty well. I just tapped the sponge on its side and most of the sanding dust just fell right off. It also has a nice label on the side for easy grit identification once you throw away your packaging. I have no idea how much longer lasting this sponge is than others, but it does seem to be sturdy. I did not use the sponge in a wet sanding type environment, but the test I did do on a small test block worked pretty well. The sponge itself is pretty sturdy. It has a little give when pressing the sponge flat, but is difficult to squeeze like a traditional sponge into your fist. The rigid paper cuts into your palms a little, and when you do squeeze it, the paper gets some creases in it (though one would probably expect that). Anyway, this sponge should work pretty well on slightly curved surfaces where a traditional rigid/flat sanding block would struggle. I have no real complaints about it.

Nice, easy to use sanding sponge. Does what I ask it to do.
This sanding sponge performed pretty well. The sponge has an easy to read label on the side to quickly identify the sanding grit once out of its packaging, and both sides have sandpaper on them. The sponge itself is pretty stiff. If you compress the sponge as if to flatten the two pieces of sandpaper together, there is a little give, but it's difficult to squeeze this like a traditional sponge in your fist. The sandpaper is thick and rigid and cuts into your palm, and when you do squeeze hard enough, the paper gets creases in it. I did not test this as a wet sander, but it did work perfectly fine as a dry sander on a small test block that I used. The sponge will provide enough give I think to work on slightly curved surfaces. It was fairly easy to shake off sanding dust as well; it did not seem to cake up on me. Overall, the sanding sponge did exactly as I expected it to.

Speddy wood removal
The Gator 3 inch x 5 inch 60 grit super sanding pad is a latex-based sand paper mounted to a sanding block, and is offered in a wide range of specific grit ranges to take on any job. It is a handy item to have in any DIY workshop. I used it on a drawer that was a little too tight in the rear corner that had warped out. First I scored the wood to the depth I needed to remove. Then I used the sanding sponge to remove the wood until all the score marks were removed. That took enough wood off the surface, so that the drawer then slid freely in the opening.

Flexible sanding sponge, made in the USA
These are somewhat similar to other sanding sponges. The grit on these seems very consistent which will give better results compared to sanding material which is less consistent. The sponge material seems more flexible than the other brands that I have used which will likely make them better on curved surfaces. Some other sponges have grooves to help move away sanding dust and some other sponges also have sanding material on the narrow length of the sponge. These do not. For other projects, I have found that sanding material on the narrow side is useful and wish these had that too. At least for a single package, these appear to be more expensive than others. The manufacturer’s packaging says they cut 5x faster and last 20x longer when compared to their own “conventional” sponges. It is hard to tell at this point, with just some short testing thus far, whether these will work better or last longer than other products. I’ve not been impressed with the longevity of other sponges from other manufacturers and I’m hopeful these will perform better.

very easy to use
Got this to help finish up end grain cutting boards and it works great. In the video you can see where I marked up with pencil to tell where I had sanded and how quickly it took off the marks. Also it is flexible and fits in the juice grooves for finish sanding. Seems to be very tough and with the grit size marked on the side makes it easy to pick the size you want.

Great Looking & Vibrant Tool
Just received this Great Looking & Vibrant Tool. Until I order this product, I did not know that this company existed. Packaging is very descriptive about the actual product. Package is made to stack on a shelf or hang on a display hook. The item itself is firm to touch with precise 90' degree corners for getting into tight spaces. Actual Grit is on both side of the sponge, so it's like two in one. I find that these actually last a good while as you complete the task at hand. Also, good to know that in America, we can still make things.
