Very easy to install! Very pleased!

Great product easy to install with great astetics.

These are pricey smoke detectors, but I wanted to be notified when something goes wrong in the house. They also provide carbon monoxide detection and a motion sensitive night light. Installation and configuration are easy if you follow the directions EXACTLY. Even though these are sold as wired, they run fine on batteries.

Purchased 3 of detectors in 2020. The sensors have now failed on 2 of the 3 detectors within the 3 years. This is outside the short warranty period of 2 years for a product that is supposed to last 10 years. I feel this is by design and not going to wait for the fail unit to fail. I can not recommend this product as it needs to be replaced more frequently than the batteries and Google doesn't even want to stand behind it with such a short warranty.

Replaced 9 outdated smoke alarms in my home with Nest Protect. Installation was easy. Instructions were clear. Devices work great and integrate well with other smart home devices (google home). Would buy again!

These are already failing and must be replaced after less than a year. The lithium batteries they require are very expensive and difficult to find and they have to be replaced after around 6 months. Google customer support will test your ability to stay calm. They are always soooo sorry that they can't help you, but they just can't for one reason or another. (To be fair, this is the same for all Google products, not just Nest.) Buy something else.

Excellent product. Easy to install and connects with other Nest detectors via wifi. Does a working check every week of the entire network of detectors.

Great product and since these items have a 10 Year expiration date from date of Manufacture, I was surprised to learn that they were manufactured in May 2023 and as we purchased these in July 2023 and with the 10 year expiration on these, I’m set until May 2033! Yippie!

This unit needed battery replacement 3 time in just over a years time. That's $25 for 8 lithium batteries each time, so $75 in a yr. I reached out to google support 2 months ago they ran me through the wringer trying different things multiple times. Today they respond "Thanks for sharing the details. We're sad to deliver the bad news, but there's no reason to sugar coat this — we won't be able to send out a replacement device since your Nest Protect warranty eligibility has already expired".

I installed 3 Nest Protect Smoke Alarm and Carbon Dioxide wired protectors in my home in about 45 minutes. Removed contractor grade smoke alarms and followed the instructions to install the new bracket and wiring harness. Went very well and very satisfied with this product. Peace of mind now we have these monitoring the air. Also love the night light that comes on with motion to light your way.

When this worked it was great. However the other day the unit started beeping saying there was a smoke sensor problem and I needed to clean the unit or replace it. I talked to a tech person and they ran me through some troubleshooting steps. A day later the same problem arose. So I looked up my warranty and it expired May 8th 2023 (34 days before the unit broke). The unit was built Feb 28 2021. When I called Nest to explain the situation their attitude was "sorry the unit has a hardware issue but its not longer in warranty so go pound sand and here is a link to buy a new one" Very disappointed in the Nest and their product. It being a hardware issue tells me that they sold a defective product or have a QC issue and don't stand behind what the build. If this happened 1 or 2 years after the warranty expired I would understand but 34 days after it expired to have the unit break is a joke.
